Custom Maps
The easiest way to get every achievement is to make custom maps using the "levels" section in the main menu. It takes a while to get used to the map maker, but once you do, make a map that has two camps, one of which is blocked off on both sides by null blocks. The other camp should have as many tunnels placed off of it as your team can handle. Now fill these tunnels with whatever you need to get the next achievement you are going for, and enjoy a feeling of accomplishment.

Tips for working in the map maker:
  • You can only use things in the "special" tab when you have a tunnel selected. This is the tab where camps are located, so this is pretty important.
  • To edit what spawns in dark rooms, check the "monster parties" tab at the top of the screen, the "monsters" tab just affects what is in the tunnel that you select.
  • If you are trying to get the achievements for turning in certain relics make sure that you are putting the right treasure chests in your map. Each chest type has different relics within. When in doubt, just put down every type.
  • If you save the map a small box pops up in a seperate window with a confirm button on it. If you are in full screen mode this box will be invisible, your game has not frozen or bugged, click around for a bit to try to hit it.
  • Once you have saved your map you need to go back to the main menu and hit play. Your new map should be at the end of the map list.
Hidden Achievements
There are three hidden achievements in Delve Deeper.

Beardy
Requires you to play a match on the hardest AI difficulty. Go to Options->Gameplay Options->AI Difficulty. Set it to 5 and enter any of the campaign levels. Once you select your team and start the match you will unlock the achievement. Make sure you don't have the tutorial turned on, that interferes and you won't receive it. Also note that you may need to set monsters to 5 if you have that option on a given map.

The Eternal Conflict
Play a two-player match between Red and Blue teams. Nice and easy, to the point that most people get this one before even knowing it was hidden.

I Roll 20s
Get 200 critical hits against enemies. Just grind it, it goes faster than you think. Make sure that you don't light the torches in every room of your map, as this will stop enemy spawns.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure about it. I tried doing it the way you'd listed first, set the AI to 5 and start a game. But I got no cheevo. Then, just to experiment, I tried setting monsters to 5 as well, and then it worked.

So I dunno what the hell's going on with it.

Odd. I can't test that myself but I'll add a note to the guide just to be safe. Thanks for the info!

It's worth noting that you HAVE TO set both AI difficulty AND monsters to 5 to unlock Beardy. Or at least, that's what I had to do.

I was not able to find a comprehensive list of items found in each chest type anywhere online, so unless I create my own list from playing the game I will not be adding that information to the guide. If any current players would like to provide me with any of this information I would be happy to credit them in the guide.

Though I am currently a bit strapped for time I will make every attempt to add the requested information to the guide sometime in the next week or two. Thanks for the suggestions!

Also, trying to get the "3 copies of X relic" achievement was harder to get than it looks because there's no real way to tell which category a particular relic belongs to, so adding the type of those to this guide, if you know them, would seriously cut down on the grind time.

Following this guide after some nice times with the game was more fun than I expected it to be. Figuring out how to optimize custom levels to facilitate easier achievement getting is a mini-game in and off itself, and some achievements are kind of overly ambitious in scope for someone who isn't really in the position to spam endless hotseat games with siblings/roommates. Also, something is really weird with the spawn rates on monsters which makes attempts to grind regular levels kind of problematic.

Also - the game doesn't seem to explain the "light" mechanic, so you might consider explaining it in the guide for the benefit of anyone reading :)

Excellent addition! There can be no doubt now that this is the best, most concise completion guide for the game. I doubt that it could be improved upon from here, and I encourage all who read this to take a moment to give it a thumbs up so that it will be reflected in the guide listings thumbnails, rather than the current zero stars due to too few votes. This is clearly a better guide than the other of its kind, which is out of date and is no longer being maintained by its author. It would be useful for future readers to see a rating on it and therefore be more likely to take a look at it, not to mention the fact that the author deserves it for being right on top of it with his replies to comments!

In fact, I'm just going to add a section to the guide listing the hidden achievements real quick.

To my knowledge there are three hidden achievements. "The Eternal Conflict" requires only that you play a two-player match between Red and Blue teams, which is simple enough that most people get it early on. "I Roll 20s" requires you to critically hit 200 enemies. "Beardy" I have already discussed in a previous comment. Good luck.
