V2.0
This mod adds a Sail Chiller, an evaporative cooler that is powered by wind.

- The Sail Chiller uses the same technology as the Passive Cooler, so it's automatically there when you need it...at the beginning.

- HP: 100
- Work: 150
- Base Size: 4x4 3x3
- Cost: 200 Wood Logs, 150 Leather
- Minimum temperature: ~ 45F/7C

The sail chiller is very potent, almost OP, but scientifically accurate. It cools fast, but not to even near freezing. Once water is implemented, it will need to be refueld every day.

Actually, its a bit more scientific than that. It has to do with pulling warm air down onto water and using the water vapor to cool the air in the area. Its a legit thing. They are still used in some countries to my knowledge. I was just point out that this mod feels a little out of balance without the use of a water mod. :p_shield:

well yea?? it just angles the wind so it blows on you its not like it magicly cools the room

Ok... so if you aren't using a water mod... this item is basically cost free??? :d5_prinny:

Interesting idea. I would only make one small suggestions. That they aren't placeable under mountains

(Original Mod Builder) Yep! Arabian invention, brings in wind-caught air from outside. Thanks, Mlie, for the update! I really need to play RimWorld again!

This is actually a real thing they used to catch wind via cloth nets and would put them on the top of homes that would funnel down on the ground to keep the areas cooler pretty sure this was invented in the middle east/ Egypt area and then it was used all around the Mediterranean sea as well.. It works exactly as Adopted Mexican stated.

Pretty sure the idea is that it sticks up through the roof. Without researching it myself I could only presume it's more functionally a wind funnel, water is stored in the base and air flowing over it transfers heat on contact (somewhat equilibrium seeking as water can hold more joules of thermal energy per cubic inch, I think?). Then said cooled air passes into the room from slots in the base while some of the water evaporates at a quicker pace due to it getting warmer.
