Spectrum M30 VHF

Description
Telephony made easy
The Spectrum Marine series radio packs everything a busy SAR operator needs into a compact and easy-to-use package. Inspired by real-life DSC (Digtial Selective Calling) the M30 can dial another radio like you would a mobile phone even while both radios are currently on different channels. The M30 also has a digital Mayday function with selectable Mayday sub-types and the ability to acknowledge both DSC calls and Maydays by other radios.

Rounding off the radio has a scan function, VOX (Voice-activated transmission) and persistent memories for up to 6 DSC addresses. The colour scheme is also configurable. A random 4-digit Maritime Mobile Service Identifier (MMSI) is programmed on spawn and stored in memory and serves as the "address" for DSC calls.

Meta
The scan and DSC functions rely on precise logic tick timings. All connections between the Speaker, Antenna and Microcontroller MUST be direct with no switchboxes or any other logic between them. You are free to add other logic to the microphone and screen, such as for Pilot/Copilot headset system or multifunction display, though this controller is only designed for a 1x1 display.
A seat headset on its own is not supported - you must have at least 1 Speaker output, as the Boolean "transmitting" feedback from the speaker block is required.

Useage
Connect all 12 nodes - none are optional. The Mic and Speaker On/Off inputs on the controller should come from the Microphone and Speaker blocks - they are not an external Push-to-talk signal. Remember to connect the audio lines for these to the Antenna too. Also ensure the Microphone has a constant on signal to its "Activate" input, or tick "Default to active" int he microphone settings.
Some options are provided for the Primary, Secondary and Selectable Item colour scheme when clicking on the controller. An external buzzer is used for confirmation feedback aswell as for Mayday and DSC call alarms.

Home screen:
  • Push-to-talk (PTT - top left)
  • Signal Strength Indicator (SSI - top right)
  • Quick-swap to channel 8 - the real-life Mayday channel is 16 but this is unreachable on the walkie talkie
  • Open the menu
  • Scan
  • Channel select

The main menu is as follows:
  • MAYDAY - issue a distress message digitally to all M30 radios in range. The type of distress is selectable such as Fire, Sinking, Piracy or Man overboard (MOB). A screen will pop up to show if any users respond to the Mayday.
  • CALL - dial one of the saved MMSI addresses, or key it in. The receiver will be automatically switched to your channel if they accept and a popup will appear on your radio to show they have responded.
  • SAVED - edit the 6 saved MMSI addresses
  • VOX - switch the voice-activated handsfree transmission feature on or off. This defaults to OFF.
  • MMSI - See the MMSI of this radio
  • INFO - In case you forgot you were rockin' a Spectrum M30 VHF DSC radio

Example items
The M30 is currently fitted to my Wolfback 4x4 SUV

Hello, your work is great. Can I get your authorization to use it on my vehicle and publish it in the creative workshop? I will write the name of the work and the original link in the introduction.:winter2019happyyul:

This is actually pretty cool, finally figured out VOX, you should mention that the mic just needs a constant on signal, I at first wired the micOn to the transmit that just supposed to go to the antenna and of course VOX didnt work, cause yeah like in your notes, the microcontroller takes care of the push to talk and VOX that way. Im planning on building a roleplay server with smaller ships and aircraft, with my larger boat as support (admins gotta be helpers after all) so this would be a huge help for distress signalling now that MEBL is literally just a trash can (he did get banned from the workshop over it so yeah)

This is amazing, I can not imagine how much work that was.
Can I use this in my build if I link and credit? This should be fitted as standard in all multiplayer games!
