The abyss is the first map out of the 11 that exist. No one can make it down the abyss with no equipment, and even if you do make it down there, what dangerous monsters could lurk in the dark?
That's what we focus on here at the P.A.E.C., researching the abyss, and making ways to get down there safely. We still have a long way to go before people can start living in the Abyss though, so if you are planning to move there you just have to be patient!

There are many types of Gorse, They come in a variety of color, shape, and properties.
There are 6 main types of Gorse that every species has, this includes, Regular, Baby, Mother, Dirty Regular, Dirty Baby, and Dirty Mother.


(Main Eggs)
There are many types of Gorse eggs, varying in color. Whatever color the egg is, is what Gorse the egg came from. If the egg is darker than normal that means its a mother egg.

Gorse nests are where the eggs of Gorse can be found, They are usually found in holes inside cave walls. Eggs that are covered in Gorse acid are new, and will probably not hatch until about three weeks later.

Skye is one of our best on the P.A.E.C. team. They are always finding new things in the abyss, and when they find these things they add them to their specimens list.

• Specimen: 0001 "Spider Gorse"
  
  A vile looking Gorse, with multiple appendages, 12 in total. Often found in crevasses and holes in the walls of the abyss. The Spider Gorse have an extreme aversion to light, and do their best to avoid it. They live and work much like normal Gorse, but the only major difference is their twelve appendages, and their ability to form web-like strands of thread at will. Unlike normal spiders, Spider Gorse only use their webs for holding things. They do not use them to catch prey, but instead to hold their prey once hunted. They live and hunt alone, and are very vicious and foul creatures. Do your best to avoid these. They love to attack in the dark, and will always be looking for ways to damage explorer vehicles, and Explorers, if they are in the dark.

• Specimen: 0002 "The Spire"
  
  A strange and otherworldly spire found on the bottom of the Abyss, by one of our crawlers. They report that Gorse seem to love being near it, and are extraordinarily docile when near it. The researchers also claim to experience an overwhelming calming sensation being near the spire. More research is definitely necessary.

• Specimen: 0003 "The Orb"
  
  A cave with strangely forming stalactites and stalagmites, with a strange, floating orb in the center, that has a spiked exterior. Touching it (with hands, and other things like sticks) yields nothing. The hand / stick passes straight through it without any resistance. The cave emanates a purple glow, as well, and an odd sense of impending doom. After finding this specimen, more have been sighted, with similar results.
