How to make a seamless freeway ramp
Hello and welcome everyone !!

On this guide, I will show you the technique I use to create seamless junction using multiple mods and creat a freeway network that run smooth as hell!

First, start with the requirement !

Mods :
Assets :

Okay, once everything is installed, let's find an ugly ramp that we could re-build.

This one is ugly as hell, so let's go!

First step is about removing all unwanted ramp and upgrade/connect road with the configuration you like. In this case, it would be 1 lane on ramp. And 2 lane freeway becoming 3 lane.

Then, I will use Node Controller mode and make it appear smoother. I expand the connecting node enough so car have room to take the ramp with a normal speed. Also, freeway lane have to be as straight as possible in the making.

A little polishing the curve with move it will make the look better!

Little note :

For short node connection and if the texture end is very visible you can use a fonction of 'Node Controller' who remove junction marking as below :

Before :

After :

But let's continue with marking! In the picture below, I have used 'Intersection Marking Tool' to connect the marking on the junction. Seam pretty good so far but we can tell where the junction is by the lack of texture! :(

So, first we are going to work on the shoulder of the road. They are actually darker than the main asphalt color so I'm gonna use the 'Asphalt Network' and give it another color with 'Network Skins'.

I have made all segment that I need but they do not fit at all in the texture. Let's flat that with move it.

Better. Now I have to change shape so it fit the freeway position. For this part, I use a little trick. I could use 'PO' and change the form this way but I prefer using 'Node Controller'. I select the end segment and move those red dots to match the freeway shoulder position.

After making all the shoulder work, the ramp look almost done. Time for travel lane work!

In the original texture, the travel lane have some sort of tire texture where car are cruising. To mimic that, I will use 'Truck Oil Leak' Decals and make multiple line using 'Prop Line Tool'.

The texture match very weel but it's a little too dark for my taste. I will use move it, and elevate the texture with 'page up' so it starts to disappear and look more like the original texture.

For completing the seamless texture, I apply a roadwear decals on the entire freeway to make it better.

And we are done!

It may appear as a long and very detailed job but once you get used to make it, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes for this kind of result.

Hope you enjoy this guide!

Have fun!

Love it.
But I'd recommend to use Network Skins to change the road colour
