Report a translation problem
There have been many updates since this guide's creation. Some of the information is outdated as of this comment.
EX: Ships at sea can only repair so much damage, compartments not restored to full durability (it used to be otherwise).
This feature is not accurately reflected on the in-game action report. You'll need to check each ship individually in tactical mode to reasonably decide weather you should send it home or not.
It's important to do this because completely destroyed compartments during battle tend to quickly cascade until your vessel goes to Davy Jones if you don't catch it early.
