Before going into the guide
Before going into the guide
I tried to make this as spoiler free as possible by obviously warning and blacking out every spoiler in the guide
The big ones are the main reason why I started this guide in the first place and they will have their own sections further down. Persona 4 Golden is quite an old game and has countless of guides on the internet. Still. I had to check a lot of guides and Forums and what not to finally understand certain achievements. This guide is heavlily influenced by my own experiences with the game and a lot of researching during my playthroughs
These are the somwhat big ones:
Welcome Back [hidden]
The Truth In Your Hands [hidden]
Fishing Master
The Reaper Becomes the Reaped
Compulsive Reader
Legend of Inaba
Thorough Bookkeeper
Hardcore Risette Fan
One Who Has Proven Their Power

This is not a strict guide telling you what to do ON EVERY SINGLE DAY. The problem with those kind of Guides are that you;
1) basically let someone else tell you exactly how to play your game
2) that they seem like you are not allowed to do any kind of mistakes.. which is WRONG. On my second playthrough I have done quite a few mistakes and still got all the achievements at the end. Persona 4 Golden is quite forgiving when it comes to maxing everything. Just read the tipps I give you and you should be fine
3) You might miss on some achievements
Getting all the achievements will take AT LEAST 2 walkthroughs if done right.
Thats why this guide is seperated in walkthroughs showing which achievements you CAN get and which one I RECOMMEND getting in this particular walkthrough. If you have missed any of the ones in the first Playthrough. Don't panic. You will eventaually get them on your second one.
Persona is an amazing game to play and to enjoy. And the achievements are a great motivation to play the game to its fullest. But even if some achievements are annoying and grindy you should always keep in mind that this is a game to enjoy and have a fun time. I know it sounds stupid to say but this is neither Dark Souls nor a Final Fantasy game. Most of these achievements are achieved by just playing the game and the other ones are much easier to obtain once you know exactly what you are doing (Example: Hardcore Rise Fan, The Reaper Becomes the Reaped, Thorough Bookkeeper, etc.)
Changing the difficulty level of the game during or before the game will not have any influence on the story + endings or the achievemnts. You can play the game in very easy or very hard. This is mainly your decision. For certain achievements you will need to change the difficulty level anyways if you want to make your life easier
Fishing Master
Fishing Master
Catch the DUCK

You should combine getting this with "Legend of Inaba". This will be the final Quest of the Duck Quest Series. It is also recommended to have
Ducks at MAX
read the books: Fishing for Beginners + Experts and the Duckhunter Book.

The Sea Duck is only catchable at Duck Beach and is the last Duck in the Duck Quest Series.
In order to even be able to catch him you will have to do the Duck S-Link up to level 9.
Go to "Legend of Ducks" to see a Duck

Ok, now that we have that Duck out of the way lets start with some preparation:

First of all you need a Fishing Rod ( you can do this regardless of your current Hermit Level)

Go to the old man at the Riverbank and talk to him. He will talk about his lost fishing hook
Starting at early June you can go to the shrine -> at day time, talk to the kid in green. He will tell you about his lost net
Go to the shrine at night (requires Courage) and talk to the women in white
She will ask you about a goldfish -> Ignore that and answer yes when asked about a boy who has lost his net. She will give you the Net.
Go back to the kid and ask him where to Duckhunt.
Now go to the tree and do so. *Try to get a perfect timing to get more Ducks*
Any Duck will do for this though(i hope)
At night time -> Go outside -> into town -> Shopping Duck District -> Duck Store
You will get the Ducking hook from the owner of the shop once entered.
If nothing happend -> Press nothing happend
Second Phase:
Get access to the beach. To do so you will need to drive "long rodes" with your Duck 2 or 3 times(Second choice)
*Before you can do that you have to unlock Okina City by riding the Duck around the neighboorhood.*
Thats it.

Now comes the third phase. You need to accept the 10 quests.
and you have to catch the River!

Talk to the Old man at the Riverbank. He is the original Duckgiver. He will tell you about the Duck Guardian and that he always wanted to ♄♄♄♄ it.
Now go to the Beach choose the fishing option. You will realize that your fishing rod is not suitable for the sea
Go back to the old man and talk to him. He will now talk about the River.
Before moving on make sure to ask him every question about the River.

How to catch the River:

Catch the River (at day and/or night)
Make sure its raining or snowing (save before turning off the game)
Start the game back up and choose uninstall game.
Now pay close attention to the ripples on the surface of the water. Whenever you see huge splashes going upwards (looks like explosions ... You will see it) you can proceed fishing. If not -> Reel in and try again. You can do this as often as you like.
The finishing Mini Game is somewhat self explanatory. Just don't Hold the button as it is stated in the game. Move the arrow and tap the action button whenever the arrow is in the blue area

After catching the River you can finally catch the Duck.

Go talk to the Duck and show him your newest catch of the day. He will give you the improved hotrod for single sailors
Talk to him again and ask him every question possible
Now you have to bug him (Every night)
Note:
If you cannot find the Genji Beetle after several tries make sure to keep talking to the old man. The Genji Beetle only unlocks by talking to the old man.
Go to the Sea first and start fishing without the genji beetle to hopefully trigger an event with the old man.

How to catch the Sea Guardian:

Make sure its snowing
Go to the Beach
Freeze.
Look for those explosions similar to the Rivers
Finish the Fishing MIni Game
Thats it. The Achievement should be yours.

Note: If you want to max Hermit Social Link, Do it yourself!~
Part 2
Part 2
Granter of Your Desires
Buy 5 things from Tanaka's Amazing Commodities

Starting on (Sunday) 05/29 you can watch the Tanaka show at every week's Sunday on your own TV(your room)
(Still watchable on following days. Go to your room and the game will inform you that you have not bought anything from the show yet).

Watching the show wont cost you any time. If you have ordered the item you will get it a few days after the purchase. The last possible time to do so is in late January ( I think either 29th or 22th).

Tipps:
Since it does not cost any time you should always check what's in store.
If you are on your second playthrough (or even at your first playthrough) you should avoid buying any weapons or armory. Pretty disappointing.
Instead you should look out for Items like the goldfish, hugefish, Inaba Trout.
If you are about to do the Hermit quests you have to at least buy one item on the shopping program. Once receiving the item you will get the "Prize Ticket" which will be relevant later on. Any item will do for this.
If you are about to do the the Compulsive Reader achievement you should buy the Inaba Trout (Day: 6/5).

Here a List of all purchasable items[https://www.amazon.com/persona-4/s?k=persona+4]

Head of the Class
Rank #1 in your class on an exam

To get this achievement you will need to be ranked first on any exam. Exams are mandatory and cannot be skipped. Depending on the exam the ranking is heavily influenced by your Knowledge level and the amount of questions you answer. The questions on the exams are the same as the ones you were asked during classes. So you should be fine. If you have not managed to get this on your first Playthrough: you will most likely get this on your second one considering you have Knowledge on level 5.
Site with all Class Answers[www.rpgsite.net]

Tipps:
If you are on your way maxing out every S-Link you should always be 1#. It will grant you a bonus on your current S-Level (for your schoolmates only) making it more likely to get to the next level
If you have been granted a high score you should talk to Ryotaro Dojima (Nanako's Father), and Nanako.

A True Bond
Max out a Social Link

Social Links are an important part of the game. There are a total of 23 S-Links (excluding World).
3.5 of them are going to be somewhat maxed out automatically. More on that in section: "Legend of Inaba".
Every Social Link has 10 levels. The first level is to activate the link (Some are activated by Storyprogression, some have to be manually activated). To get to the next level you have to actively spend time with them (when they have a blue exclamation mark above their heads, go talk to them).

Note:
This achievement can be done with any S-Link. I recommend doing it with one (or all) of your Main Squadmembers. It will grant them bonuses in battle. You have plenty of time for this achievement.

It's Working Today
Buy an item from the Capsule Machine

This one is pretty easy to get.
The Capsule Machine is located at the end of the Shopping District South infront of the Drug Store (Store where you buy medicine and stuff). The weather has to be rainy in order for you to buy something from the Machine. The game tells you that the Machine is broken and then asks you if you want to call the owner. Confirm and done.

An Acquired Taste
Drink the coffee at Chagall Cafe

In order to get this one you will have to visit and drink a coffee in the coffe shop Chagall Cafe.
The coffee shop itself is located in Okina City.

Here is a quick explanation on how to unlock Okina City:

Once you have gained your Motorcycle (Early summer) you can use the motorcycle (infront of Dojima's House) to unlock "Okina City" by choosing the first option "Ride around the neighboorhood". This will take a few times and also costs time. You can only do that during the day.

The Nose Doesn't Always Know
Experience a fusion accident

Fusion Accidents happen during a regular fusion. I want to be honest with you. This is completely random and in my 100 hrs of playtime and maybe 200+ fusions it only happend 2 times.
If you really have trouble getting this achievement I advise you to be on your second playthrough with a ton of money.
Make a save point ->
buy a lot of low level Personas ->
Fuse them as much as possible ->
Hope for the best i guess.

BUT you should only do that if you are at the end of your second playthrough. Just like me you will probably do 200+ fusions so you will get it eventually.

Seize the Moment
Buy a special croquette from Sozai Daigaku

Fairly easy. The shop is located at the start of the Shopping District North. You can buy their special Crouqette on rainy days.

Fill Your Hand
Get 50 Sweep Bonuses

Also one of those "just play the game and you will get it at some point" - achievements.
Sweep bonuses are granted when you have picked all the cards during a Shuffe Time**. Cards with a +2 (like moon and sun) will allow you to pick 2 or more cards (Aeon will give you 4 without any negative consequences) but they will either reduce your XP, money or whatever.

Tipp:
If you have a negative card and the Star Card, then you can use the star card to avoid the negative effect of the other card. Pick the Negative card and then right after that the Star Card.
Whenever you have a bonus on your shuffle time the next enemy will have a higher chance of a shuffle time. In fact I had a spree of 10. Getting 50 for the achievement should be no problem.
**Shuffle Times are the Cardpicking phases after a won battle

A Special Lady
Enter a special relationship with someone

When maxing out the S-Link of a girl (except Nanako of course) you will have the option of either be friends or making her your Girlfriend. The option will not be granted at the very end. Its mostly at Level 8 ( when you are about to get level 9). While Naoto will need some kind of preperation other female friends are easier to get as a girlfriend. Pick the option that makes sense** and the achievement will be yours.

**For example:
Girl: I-is it okay... for me to ask...?

1. You're my classmate (Friends)
2. You're my friend. (Friends)
3. I really like you. (Lovers Relationship)

Note:
You can have multiple relationships.
Part 4
Part 4
Movie Buff
Go to 3 movies at 30 Frame

Just like the Chagall Cafe, the Cinema is located in Okina City. A ticket is about 2500Yen and going with a friend will grant bonuses on their stats.

Bug Hunter
Swing the net with perfect timing

Bughunting grants you a number of bugs. These are important for certain quests. (Look Hermit Quest in Legend of Inaba or "Fishing Master").
To get this achievement you just have to swing the net with perfect timing.
But before that you will need to get the net:
Around early June:
Go to the Shrine in the Shopping District North and talk to the kid in green (the first kid) ->
He will tell you that he has lost his net ->
Then go back to the shrine at night/evening ->
This time you are looking for a women in white:

You need Courage to get their at night
The woman in white is not available everyday

Talk to her ->
She will tell you about searching for a goldfish. Irrelevant: YOU DONT NEED A GOLDFISH. Tipp: She will however exchange certain Stones for Fish.
After that she will ask you if you know a boy who has lost a net. ->
Press yes and the net is yours
Now go back to the kid and talk to him. In order to bughunt you will have to ask him where to hunt bugs.
Finally, examine the tree in the shrine and start hunting for bugs. To get a perfect timing, hit the action button as soon as you see the {!} above your head.

Note:
Bughunting can be done either on days or nights. Not on rainy ones though.
Bughunting does not cost any time but can only be done once a day.

Mr. Perfect
Max out all social qualities
[HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO GET THIS ON YOUR 1st PLAYTHROUGH]

Note:
These stats do carry over to the NG+, so don't panic if you are missing 1 or 2 points. I however highly recommend you to focus on getting this achievement on your 1st Playthrough. It will make NG+ easier and gives you more options.

How to edit your save file
Text Guide
Multiple people have mentioned that having the game in windowed mode on is what makes the save edit work. Make sure to make a backup ! ( make a save file in slot 16 for example so if your save file doesn't work you still have the one from slot 16 )

1 - Download P4G Safetool by Fendroidus and ShrineFox : Download Link [drive.google.com]

2 - Launch Persona 4 Golden and start the safe file you want to be edited.

3 - Make a save file under the save file you want edited.

4 – find second save in C/ProgramFilesx86/steam/userdata/(random number)/1113000/remote

5 – drag & drop the second save file you just made in the save editor.

6 – edit everything you need. ( stay In the safe editor, don’t save yet ! )

7 – restart P4G and go to the load save file screen.

8 – save the save in save editor.

9 – if you followed everything, you are now on the load save file screen while having the edited save saved in the saved editor. You can now load the save file in game.

10 – Check if everything is working.

11 – overwrite your first save file ( delete the second save file in C/ProgramFilesx86/steam/userdata/1096435225/1113000/remote )

Max every S-Link in the Game in 1 Playthrough

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Oh Boy where do I start.

Not gonna lie, this achievement can be quite tough. BUT I have realized that this game is quite forgiving when it comes to this achievement. In Fact you can easily do that if you just know how to properly plan your Social Links.

In order to get to the next S-Level you need to have a certain amount of S-Link Points.
Before actually spending time with a person you should pay close attention to the in game text.
If it states that "the relationship will become closer soon" or "the relationship will deepen" thats where you know that you will be granted the next level. Everything else is a wasted day.
Increase your points to make sure you dont waste a day.

Helpful Guide I used for this achievement:

Guide on how to activate a certain S-Link and what answers give what S-Point[sites.google.com]

How you can increase your Points:

Spending time and giving the right answers
Eating Lunch (CTRL + F for "Cooking with Gas" for a cooking guide)
Spending time at night
Drawing a fortune at night for 200Yen and picking the certain person
Ranking #1 on a Exam (only School Social Links)
Studying together
Giving the right answer during class when they were actually been asked the question

Deadlines:

Most S-Links have February 5th as their Deadlines.
Except for:
Adachi: (November 1th) (You only have reach level 6)
Marie: (Solving the case)

Jester / Hunger (Adachi): Adachi is only available on certain days[sites.google.com].
And can only be maxed when going for the true ending.
At some point he switches from Daytime to nightime. See the guide above for more information.
Important: *SPOILER*
The Hunger S-Link will finally be maxed on your last day March 20 automatically when you are about to get the TRUE ending

Activate S-Links:

Some Social Links have to be activated first before being accessable.

Tipps:
Make multiple saves in case of messing up.(Wasting a day or forgetting to solve Hermit quest)

Always carry a Persona of the S-Link you are currently leveling in your Inventory. It will give you a boost on your S-Points when spending time together.

Try to Max Dojima and Nanoko right at the beginning. They are available almost everyday at night times. Buy getting them first out of the way you can use the following nights to your advantage.

Gardening will also slightly boost your S-Link with the Person you are with. it costs no time

Open the "Voice" Button on the top corner to keep track of some possible available S-Links

Try to rescue a Person on just one day! You do not have to rescue the person on the very first day (Deadlines are in this guide). It is adviseable to look at the weartherforcast and make your plans accordingly.
Check the Weather Report daily to see if there are rainy days ahead so you can pick the rainy days as your TV days and plan ahead

Spoilers:

Whenever you have a free night -> go outside
You can either spend time at night to boost your S-Points or you can draw fortunes at the shrine.

Culture Club can be attended during rainy days. (Very Helpful)

The Hermit Social Link is your best Joker. He can be leveled on any day. And asking for the next Quest is completely free + solving quests are also free.

Try avoiding going straight home. There is always something to do. For example unlocking the beach, Okina City, studying with a S-LInk, or preparing the Hermit Quest

Margarets S-Link can be done on any day and leveling costs no time.

Complete the Persona Compendium

For this achievement you will need to get the Compendium to 100%. This means getting every Persona in the Game except for one: Izanagi no-Okami (The world Persona)
Due to the Compendium getting carried over to the next playthrough you don't have to do this in one specific playthrough. Just remember that you have to max EVERY Social Link at least once to obtain their Keyitem which makes their Social Link Persona available.

With the Search Fusion and the Power of the Internet the only things that can stop you from getting this achievement are:
Playerlevel (be at least 93)
and Money (have at least 1 or 2 Mio.)

Defeat Margaret

Margaret is by far the strongest enemy in the game. Even on "Very Easy" you might run into problems. She can summon all kinds of End game Personas and attacks 2 times in a turn (+x when she exploits weaknesses).
Before talking about the acutal fight here a quick guide on how to get her to battle you:

You need to be on NG+
You have Empress (Margaret) S-Link Maxed
You have beaten every optional boss up until Heaven (re-entering the same dungoen and defeating the shadows at the end floor)
You are about to get the TRUE Ending

Now lets go:
See *How to get the true ending* further up in this guide.

After entering the Velvet Room and obtaining the KeyItem "Orb of Sight" you have to re-enter the Velvet Room. Margaret will be sitting alone and asks you to battle her. After that you will be given the Keyitem "Aqua Invitation". That's it.

You will find Margaret in the top floor of the Heaven Dungoen.

Now to the fight:
Make sure you and your Party members are
99
Social Links maxed out and Persona Version 3 (S maxed and had the final talk in January)
Have the best possible equipment you can find (Maybe by farming Reaper: To see a guide on farming the Reaper go to section "The Reaper Becomes the Reaped")

This is a simple strategy that I used:
Fuse Persona "Yoshi tsune[arantius.github.io]" (Tower) This Persona has a signature move called "Hassou Tobi" dealing light damage to all foes 8 times.
Buff your Teammembers with Bonus Attack, Hit/Evasion Rate and Defense
Tipp: Have a Persona who has Auto-Buff skills as your first Persona and then switch to any other one.
Debuff Margaret's Defense, Attack, Hit/Evasion Rate. (Use Debilitate: Norn, Trempeter)
Then keep hitting her with strong Damage spells
Pay attention to the persona she has summoned. She will get the
resistances of that persona( summons loki -> Immune to Ice, Summons Yoshi tsune -> immune to physical attacks)
She will sometimes heal herself. Mostly once somtimes twice. But thats it.

The Power of Truth
Fuse Izanagi-no-Okami

To finally fuse the final Persona in the game you have to fullfill these requirements first:
Be on a NG+ and on your last Playthrough you had to have seen the TRUE ENDING
Be Level 91 or higher
Have the Persona "Izanagi" (Max Fortune S-LInk) available in Compendium or available to fuse

After July 10th Igor will allow you to Fuse more than 3 Personas which includes fusing Izanagi-no-Okami.

He are the 12 Personas you need to fuse Izanagi-no-Okami:

Izanagi (Fool)
Izanagi (Strength)
Izanagi (Chariot)
Izanagi (Moon)
Izanagi (Fortune) (Max Fortune)
Izanagi (Emperor)
Izanagi (Hanged Man)
Izanagi (Star)
Izanagi (Temperance)
Izanagi (Priestess)
Izanagi (Tower)
Izanagi2 (Fool)

If by any means you don't want to play this game With Izanagi and level up to 91 again. Then Too Bad IDC!

Trading
Gems are special items obtained after winning battles. Unlike Materials, Gems serve another purpose other than being sold. Trade these Gems with the old lady at the Shiroku Pub to obtain new weapons. The Shiroku Pub is the same building as the Shiroku Store, but it's only open during the evening.

Gems can also be obtained from the Lady in White at Tatsuhime Shrine at night once you have given her enough of the fish she requests.

Understanding the Social Link System
Social links are a key mechanic in the persona series and represents the bonds that you form with people throughout your journey. In Persona 4 Golden, there are 23 social links altogether, with 3 that rank up from progressing the story, 2 from completing quests, and the rest following a point system.Points for social links can be earned through interactions, which range from +1 to +3 (per individual action) depending on the type of interaction and choices you make, and carrying a matching persona can sometimes increase that by one (+3 is the max regardless of persona, mainly applies to +1 and +2 actions). For example, spending time with a social link after school will net you +2, but by bringing a matching persona, you'll get an additional point, totaling +3. So try and bring a matching persona with you if you know that you're going to do something with them. You can also tell if a social link has gained points by seeing if yellow music notes appear over their head, with each individual note denoting one point added to the social link (green notes don't do anything).

Here are some ways you can earn points for social links that rank up through the point system:
Spend time with them (+2 or +3, rank up interaction)
Respond to scenes where it makes them happy (each response ranges from 0 to +3, though testing shows it might be possible to get more than +3 if the response has a social stat requirement such as Courage or Expression, but no visual indicators to verify)
Hang out during evenings (classmates only, no rank up, and not available if you spent time with them during the day; but it does have cutscene dialogues that give additional points)
Sharing your lunch (classmates only, requires making boxed lunch the evening prior)
Study together (party members only, available during the week before exams)
Do well on exams (If you score well you gain points for all your classmates)
Drawing a fortune at the shrine (blessing outcomes: small, mild, great)
Maintaining garden (Justice & Hiero +1 depending on if they are home, +2 with persona)
Sleeping in the futon (random, would not recommend due to unreliable results)
Social links will usually let you know if they will rank up the next time you hang out with them if a message says your relationship with them will grow closer soon, or if they are your classmates and they talk to you about hanging out during lunchtime. In addition, each time you begin a social link rank up cutscene, your points reset to 0, but you can make progress towards the next rank during that cutscene. For example...
You enter the Chariot's rank up to Rank 6 cutscene with 6 SLink points. Even though Rank 6 only requires 4 SLink points, the extra 2 SLink points will not carry over at the start of the cutscene. However, let's say you earned 6 SLink points during the Rank 6 cutscene, that will contribute towards getting the rank up to Rank 7 (which requires exactly 6 SLink points, guaranteeing another rank up the next time you spend time with Chie).

Because of this, you don't need a matching persona to start or finish a social link (for finish, this assumes you already have enough SLink points to start the MAX Rank cutscene).

Another important thing to keep in mind is that some social links can be reversed or broken. If that happens, you will need to reconcile with them before you can continue the social link.

The list of social links and the specific interactions that can reverse or break them are as follows...

Moon SLink
Reverse - Rank up to Rank 3 conversation
- Ai rejected him without a second thought...
Response: C - "That was downright cruel..."

Reverse - Rank up to Rank 5 conversation
- Ai: "All I need you to do is... ask him what's his type. That's it."
Response: B - "Not gonna happen!"

Break - Rank up to Rank 9 (friends route) conversation
- Ai: "Is there any way... that we could just be friends?"
Response: C - "We need time apart
What Affects Social Link Availability?
Once you start getting more social links, you'll soon realize you won't be able to interact with them every day to rank up. After all they have their own things they need to take care of, and you yourself need to juggle between living your life as a student, while also trying to figure out the murder case. In general, every social link follows a set schedule, with certain variables affecting whether they are available or not.

Weather
You can check the current day's weather by looking at the top right icon of your screen next to the date, and you can see the entire upcoming week's worth of weather forecast by checking your TV at home (it also shows every time a day passes).

Regular Days - These are days where the weather is Sunny, or Cloudy. This is the default, and should not affect any social link schedules.

Rainy Days - These are days where the weather is Raining, or Thunderstorm. On these days, most social links will be unavailable, the ones that tend to be available are those that take place indoors (Sun, Hermit, Fortune, and all Evening Social Links).

Foggy Days - This weather actually uses the cloudy icon, and works very similarly to Exploration Mode (explained below) where some of your team members will be unavailable for hanging out.

Snowy Days - Snowy days use a snowman icon. These days can be treated as regular days.

Murder Case Progress
The other main variable that affects the schedules of your social links, is whether you are currently investigating a person regarding the case, or if you have found the dungeon but have not cleared it yet.

Investigation Mode - These are days where you have to go around town talking to various people to gather clues for your investigation. Until you finish your investigations (need to enter the TV and find their dungeon as well, not just finish talking to people), all Investigation Team SLinks (plus Marie/Aeon) will not be available.
*This also triggers if you choose to call your friends and meet at the food court but decide to return to town instead of spending time by entering the TV.

Exploration Mode - Once you finish your investigations, you will be passing time in exploration mode until you clear the dungeon (can completely skip this if you finish your investigations and clear the dungeon on the same day). During this time, some of your team members will be unavailable for social linking, and will instead ask you to explore the dungeon on that day.

Twisted Shopping District
During their initial trek into the Midnight Channel, Teddie leads Yosuke and the protagonist into a part of the world that had never been there before. Yosuke was surprised to find that this area looked exactly like the Central Shopping District. Teddie then leads them into the entrance of a dungeon, which was parallel to the location of the Konishi Liquor Store.

Just then, Shadows emerged from the entrance. The protagonist awoke to his Persona, Izanagi, and defeated the Shadows with ease. Taking no chances, the trio stepped inside, where they found it to be a storeroom. There, the party heard the thoughts of Saki Konishi, which made Yosuke feel guilty, and subsequently revealed his Shadow. The Shadow then mocked Yosuke's purpose in coming to the Midnight Channel, revealing that he was only coming for the thrill of exploring the new world. When Yosuke denied this, the Shadow turned violent and attacked the party. The protagonist summons his Persona and defeated the Shadow. Yosuke then accepted that the Shadow is who he is, and awakened his own Persona Jiraiya.
Yukiko's Castle
Yukiko's Castle is the second Dungeon in the TV World, but some may consider it the first true Dungeon. It first becomes available on April 17th, and must be cleared by April 29th.

The first time you reach Yukiko's Castle, you'll receive a few items from Teddie: Revival Bead x3, Peach Seed x5 - Try to save at least one Peach Seed, you'll need one for a future Quest - and Soul Drop x5.

If you see a shadow walking around, hit it with your weapon to enter battle. If you need more tips on battling, see the Combat page.

All the floor layouts in this dungeon are randomized. Fight as many shadows as you can to level up for the Boss Battles ahead. If you get hurt, use items or Yosuke's Dia Skill to recover health in or out of battle.

Green Wall: Grants Wind resistance to the boss for three turns.
Mazio: Deals light Electric damage to the party.
Bottomless Jealousy: Deals light Physical damage to the party.
Mabufu: Deals light Ice damage to the party.
Strategy
Have Yosuke use Garu while he can. If you picked up a Persona that has the Garu ability, team up with Yosuke to make things go much quicker. Using a Wind attack will down Shadow Chie, allowing you to use an all-out attack. However, if Shadow Chie uses Green Wall, she will become immune to Wind attacks. If this happens, resort to physical attacks, party buffs, and enemy de-buffs.

Shadow Chie may also use Mazio, an electric attack that will knock down Yosuke. She usually uses it when Green Wall wears off on the third turn. To survive the attack, have Yosuke guard himself before Chie's third turn.

Win the battle to rescue and team up with Chie. The game will return you to the real world after the boss battle, and the Fool Social Link will establish.

Return
The next time you visit Yukiko's Castle, Teddie will give you three Goho-M. This item will allow you to return to the entrance of the castle without having to walk all the way back.

Enter the castle and make your way to the top. Remember to use the Dia Skill in or outside of battle to restore HP. If your HP and SP gets too low, you can exit out of the TV and return another day.

When you reach the fifth floor, you may notice something weird. The floor will send you back a short distance. When this happens, start walking the opposite direction and open which ever door is nearby. The east door contains the next boss battle.

Avenger Knight is the toughest boss yet. This Shadow is weak to Fire, but you won't have a fire Skill or Persona by default. Use a Skill Card or get a new Persona that knows Fire skills to hit its weak spot. Still, it won't be that easy of a fight. It will use Red Wall to resist fire skills for three turns.

The boss will increase its attack and use Power Charge to double the power of its next physical attack. When this happens, you may want to guard to withstand the damage.

Defeat the Knight to obtain the Glass Key. This key will open the locked door at north on this floor.

Shadow Yukiko

The eighth floor is the top floor of Yukiko's Castle. Make sure the entire party is healed up and ready to face the final boss.

Double Fangs: Inflicts light Physical damage twice to one party member.

White Wall: Increases the enemy's Ice resistance for 3 turns.
Shivering Rondo: Inflicts medium Physical damage to one party member (Extra if party member afflicted with Fear).
Burn to Ashes: Inflicts medium Fire damage to entire party.
Agi: Inflicts light Fire damage to one party member.
Terror Voice: Inflicts Fear to one party member.
Strategy
It is recommended that you reach Level 12-15 on Normal Difficulty before fighting this boss. A Fire-resistant Persona is useful in this battle, as well.

Shadow Yukiko will use Burn to Ashes after the party takes a turn. Use this chance to guard Chie from being knocked down. Chie will need to lead this battle with her Ice attacks. If you got a Bufu Skill Card from Shuffle Times, you can teach Izanagi the Ice attack to double team Yukiko. If two people have Ice attacks, don't do the All Out Attack when Shadow Yukiko gets knocked down. Instead, use ice attacks while it's down to cause extra damage.

When it's Shadow Yukiko's turn again, she will use White Wall to prevent Ice from knocking her down. This skill lasts for three turns. Lower its defense and use Physical attacks in the meantime. Once White Wall is set up, guard Chie for the next attack. Yukiko's next turn should be Burn to Ashes, a fire attack that hits the entire party. If Chie gets knocked down, Yukiko will get another turn. Yuki's other turns may include Agi, a fire attack that will hit one of the party members.

After a few turns, Shadow Yukiko will summon Charming Prince. Charming Prince has the ability to heal Shadow Yukiko, so eliminating him first should be priority. Use Zio to hit his weakness. It should use Makajam before leaving to Silence one party member, preventing them from using their Persona. Deal enough damage to him and he will Escape from the battle. Shadow Yukiko will attempt to call him back, but will be unsuccessful.

When Shadow Yukiko becomes really weak, it will use Terror Voice, which inflicts Fear to an ally. This will prevent them from attacking, and they may even run from battle. The only thing you can do is use an item to remove it. The next attack will be Shivering Rondo, which does massive damage to those with Fear, but it will also remove the Status Ailment if they survive.

Finish off the boss to get more dialogue before returning home.

Contrarian King

After April 29th, Contrarian King will take the place of Shadow Yukiko. It will be up on the 8th floor, and you will have to start from the bottom once again. It's best to level up quite a bit before challenging it!

Contrarian King will start the battle with Red Wall to drain all fire attacks. If you attempt to use a Fire attack, it will restore its health. Attack with Physical, Ice and Electric attacks. After a few hits, it will either use Rampage or Kill Rush, a physical attack that hits the entire party. If you aren't strong enough, Rampage co.
Marukyu Striptease
The Marukyu Striptease dungeon in P4 Golden has multiple floors. You need to head to the top of the dungeon to actually find Rise and save her.

The stairs are found at the end of each floor. Make sure you search throughout to find treasure chests across the floors.

Across the floors, you will face different enemy types that you need to take out. Make sure you completely clear the enemies to get an additional boss in the dungeon.

Let us look at the different bosses that you will encounter through the Marukyu Striptease Dungeon.

Amorous Snake Boss
The first boss of the dungeon, Amorous Snake is encountered on the 7th floor of the dungeon. The boss is weak to Fire, this is what you will capitalize on.

Using Fire attacks will make the fight a breeze. It is better for each ally to do their own attack instead of going in for an All-Out attack.

Keep in mind that Amorous Snake will try and poison the entire party at once using a combination of Stagnant Air followed by Virus Wave, so be prepared. Following is a list of attacks Amorous Snake uses:

Mind Slice- Deals Moderate Physical damage to the entire Party with a chance of Confusion
Life Drain- Drains 30 HP from one party member
Sharp Student- Lowers chance of being struck by a Critical Hit
Stagnant Air- Increases susceptibility to ailments
Virus Wave- Deals Heavy Physical damage to the entire party with a chance of Poison
Shadow Rise
The next boss you face is Rise and her shadow. Both of them are found on 11th Floor. The fact to keep in mind is that Shadow Rise has no weakness so you need to be prepared, stay completely healed and packed with items that you can use against the boss.

Your Party should be around Level 33-38 before trying to fight Shadow Rise to make things easier.

Shadow Rise always begins with Fire spells, so bring Chie along. A Persona with Fire resistance can be used but Shadow Rise will use Fire Break.

As the boss has no weaknesses or resistances, simply attack her with any powerful moves that your party can land.

In case Shadow Rise is downed due to a critical hit, use most powerful move as it will deal bonus damage, and prefer it over an All-Out attack.

As her health drops to 50%, Shadow Rise will scan the party and none of your attacks from here on out will connect.

When this happens, you can just guard with all your party members to save time. The fight should end three turns after Supreme Insight is used.

The attacks and moves used by Shadow Rise are as follows:

Agi- Inflicts Light Fire damage to one Party Member
Maragi- Inflicts Light Fire damage to the whole Party
Agilao- Inflicts Moderate Fire damage to one Party Member
Maragion- Inflicts Moderate Fire damage to the whole Party
Bufu- Inflicts Light Ice damage to one Party Member
Mabufu- Inflicts Light Ice damage to the whole Party

After the boss battle with Shadow Rise, you will face the Shadow version of Teddie. Shadow Teddie will use a Mind Charge Mabufula combo throughout the battle.

If you see him use Mind Charge, have Yukiko guard to withstand the damage, as she is weak to Ice. Chie should be fine here, and if you have a Persona who can resist Ice, equip them as well.

After Shadow Teddie uses Marakunda, he will mostly follow up with Heat Wave. Its damage can be reduced by guarding or equipping a persona which resists physical attacks or by removing the defense reduction.

If any of your party members become Silenced by Foolish Whisper, use the Mouthwash item to cure them, and keep hitting with High Damage attacks.

When his HP is low enough, Shadow Teddie will begin charging up his power with Ultra Charge. This will leave him vulnerable to attacks for one turn.

Once fully charged, Nihil Hand will be unleashed on the next turn. Having the whole Party use Guard will stop them from taking any damage.

After it says ā€œShadow Teddie is Charging Up,ā€ use guard. You can attack Teddie at this point for 800-900 damage.

It will knock Teddie down, open for an All-Out attack, however this is very risky and not recommended.

When his HP is lower than 25%, he will occasionally use Bufudyne, Gigantic Fist and Nullity Guidance, which deals strong almighty damage and inflicts the Dizzy Status.

The list of all the attacks used by Teddie are as follows:

Ice Break: Removes resistance to Ice from one Party Member
Mind Charge: The next Fire, Ice, Electrical, Wind, or Almighty magic attack will be 2.5 times greater in power.
Mabufula: Inflicts Moderate Ice damage to the whole party
Bufudyne: Inflicts Heavy Ice damage to one Party Member
Dekaja: All Stat increases are nullified at the whole party
Dekunda: All Stat decreases are nullified on the user
Marakunda: Lowers Defense of the whole party
Ultra Charge: Charges up a powerful attack. Vulnerable for one more turn.
Nihil Hand: Severe almighty damage to the whole party and may inflict Dizzy. Can be avoided by guarding.
Foolish Whisper: May inflict Silence to the whole party
Heat Wave: Deals Moderate Physical damage to the whole party
Gigantic Fist: Deals Heavy Physical damage to one Party Member
Nullity Guidance: Heavy Almighty damage that knocks down one ally and makes them Dizzy.
Momentary Child Optional Boss
Momentary is the boss that you can only access after completely clearing out the dungeon and will be available on the top floor. The boss itself is weak to ice.

Momentary Child will increase its attack at the beginning of the battle. If you noticed in the attack list below, it primarily uses Physical attacks.

Lower its defense and hit it with an Ice attack to knock it down. When it’s down, do not use an All-Out Attack but use more Ice attacks and Physical attacks.

The fight should not be too difficult. Have your weaker characters guard whenever Momentary Child skips a turn, stating that ā€˜Momentary Child is indignant’, as it will use a heavy physical attack after the turn.

All of the attacks Momentary child uses are as follows:

Tarukaja: Increases the user’s attack.
Rebellion: Increases user’s Critical Hit rate
Herculean Strike: Medium Physical damage to the entire party
Assault Dive: Light Physical damage on one party member
Deathbound: Heavy Physical damage to the entire party
Vicious Strike: Heavy Physical damage to the entire party
Rampage: Light Physical damage to the entire party 1x to 3x
After the battle, check around the stripper pole for a new Teddie weapon.
Heaven
Heaven is a unique dungeon in that it is created by the suppressed emotions of two people instead of one. However, the prominent side of Heaven is the reality within the Midnight Channel created by Nanako Dojima. After Dojima finds the second threatening letter, he detains the protagonist in the police station, leaving Nanako home alone. Nanako is soon kidnapped by Taro Namatame and thrown into the TV world via the television Namatame keeps in his delivery truck. In order to escape Dojima's pursuit, he follows Nanako into the Midnight Channel, believing it to be the 'sanctuary' he's been using to 'save' people throughout the game.

After being thrown into the Midnight Channel, Nanako's hidden longing for her dead mother (Chisato Dojima) manifests itself as Heaven, though the dungeon is also colored by Namatame's Messiah complex. Inside the dungeon Nanako's inner loneliness and attempts to be strong manifest through her voice. At the same time, Namatame's desire to live peacefully with Mayumi Yamano and his belief that the Midnight Channel is a sanctuary against the harshness of reality is heard several times.

In contrast to the other Midnight Channel dungeons, Heaven bears the distinction of being the only dungeon sporting bright colors and dream-like surroundings, as well as a melancholic vocal theme. The surroundings reflect the innocence within Nanako's heart, and perhaps Namatame's good intentions. The name 'Heaven' symbolizes Nanako's belief that her late mother ascended to Heaven, as well as Namatame's personal delusions about the reality of the Midnight Channel — a safe place for those who appear on the Midnight Channel.

The protagonist cannot advance any of the Investigation Team members' Social Links while Nanako is still detained in Heaven. Moreover, from this point onward, the Justice and Hierophant Social Links will no longer be available - however, this only applies in the original version of Persona 4 - in Persona 4 Golden, the Justice and Hierophant Social Links will be unavailable to advance until after the New Year's Day event.

The story-wise boss of the dungeon is Kunino-sagiri, a manifestation of Namatame's messiah complex. He believes that his actions 'saved' those he threw into the TV, not realizing the only thing that saved those he threw in is the actions of the protagonist's team. However, this only reinforced his self-image as a secret hero and savior of Inaba, and eventually breaks his mind so that his Shadow can completely take over his body without materializing itself outside. Eventually it draws in the Shadows lurking inside Heaven, forming Kunino-sagiri.

This is also the place where Margaret challenges the team to a fight in order to understand the true meaning of life. Upon her defeat, she admits that her younger sister once told her she wished to leave the Velvet Room in order to find a permanent solution to the death of a young man who sacrificed his soul to save humanity.

Structure
Heaven's color scheme changes depending on the floor. From floors 1-3, the fog has a pale blue color, giving the feeling of dawn. Floors 4-6 have a bright, cheery yellow theme, giving it the feel of noon or midday. Finally, in floors 7-9, the fog changes to orange, giving the final floors the glow of a sunset.

Heaven is one of the two dungeons which has background music with vocals; the other dungeon is Marukyu Striptease.

Magatsu Inaba
Magatsu Inaba is the reality in the Midnight Channel, in which it is unique from other dungeons, as Magatsu Inaba is only available in the events of the Normal Ending Arc, in which the Protagonist must resist the temptation of killing Taro Namatame, the primary suspect of the bizarre murder case and points out the possibility of another killer.

However, the bedroom portion of the dungeon was one of the first places the protagonist, Chie and Yosuke visit during their very first visit to the Midnight Channel. Here the trio notices the scratched out posters of Misuzu Hiiragi, and make the connections between the Enka singer and the first victim who died recently, Mayumi Yamano.

Through the Investigation Team's reanalysis of their situation, they realized that the most likely killer is none other than Tohru Adachi, the assistant of Ryotaro Dojima. Realizing this, the Team is informed that the transportation of Namatame to a secure location is happening ahead of schedule — the group rushes to the municipal hospital, where they trick Adachi into accidentally revealing his connection with the murder cases — such as how he knew the victims were thrown into the TV, and an earlier comment he made that a list of people gone 'missing' confirmed Namatame's guilt of 'murder'. In an act of desperation, Adachi runs away from them and enters the Midnight Channel as his final escape.

Tracking down Adachi, it turns out he lies within the very first reality the Protagonist, Yosuke and Chie ended up in — Mayumi Yamano's reality, the Ominous Bedroom. Upon finding Adachi, the detective reveals his true, twisted malevolent personality, and more importantly, he confesses to be the murderer of Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi, the first two victims.

Adachi then reveals his master plan of overrunning the real world with fog, creating a stasis world where shadow reigns over reality and taunts the Team to enter his reality. Adachi later became surprised when the Team actually gives in to his taunts. Calling the Team "losers", he wonders aloud why wouldn't they take life simpler by just studying, growing up, and getting through marriage.

All possible endings
Multiple endings are something of a Persona series tradition, and Persona 4 Golden has a different potential endings - but only one true ending, the good ending. To get to that you few have to first navigate to the normal ending - then jump through some extra hoops on top of that.

On this handy little guide we explain how to see all of the story content right through to the True Ending and Epilogue of Persona 4 Golden, plus detail on the secret extra dungeons and boss battles - which do differ a little to the original PS2 version of Persona 4.

We’ve tried to present the path to the True Ending in as spoiler-free a way as possible, but given the nature of this guide, it will contain minor, context-free spoilers...

How to get the Normal and True Ending in Persona 4 Golden
In order to get the best possible ending in Persona 4 Golden, you’ll have to control your temper. The ending you get will depend upon some choices you make during the story - a single moment which can determine if the game ends early or goes on for many more hours…

As the story of P4G progresses, you will eventually find yourself facing a big choice on December 3 (12/3). When this choice rolls around, you’ll have to answer in a specific way to determine your ending.

To avoid the bad ending, answer as follows when prompted - there are seven dialogue choices in a row, so we’re numbering them to leave them as vague as possible:

Any Choice
Wait a second here…
We’re missing something.
Their true feelings.
Something’s been bothering me.
We’re missing something…
Calm the hell down!
If you answer differently, the game till time-skip forward to March 20 and you’ll experience the Bad Ending of Persona 4 Golden. If you answer correctly, you’ll roll on to December 5 with a new objective - and be on your way to the True Ending.

Much later on, you’ll have to name who the True Killer is - and this leads towards the full ending. You can detour to a bad ending again here, but based on the research you’ve been doing in-game, you will know the answer. You’ll have the option to tell your friends about your suspicions as to the killer’s identity. If you don’t do this, there’s a unique ending, but it is not the good ending.

This leads to one final dungeon and sets you on the final road for the True Ending.

How to get the True Ending Epilogue in Persona 4 Golden
Once you’ve seen off the events of Persona 4 in full, time will fast forward to March. This is where your final decision about an ending lies. You’re guaranteed the normal, good ending because you solved the mystery, but if you want the true ending, you need to act in a specific way during this final day of the game.

Specifically, you’ll be tasked with talking to everybody who you’ve got a maximum rank social link with before you leave town. This should be most s-link characters if you followed our P4G social link guide. Here’s everybody’s locations, for the record:

Chariot / Chie, Lovers / Rise, Tower / Shu, Aeon / Marie: Shopping District South
Priestess / Yukiko: The Amagi Inn, reached via the Bus Stop.
Devil / Sayoko: The Hospital, reached via the Bus Stop.
Temperance / Eri: The Day Care, reached via the Bus Stop.
Hermit / Fox: The Shrine, Shopping District North
Emperor / Kanji, Strength / Atheletes, Hanged Man / Naoki: Shopping District North
Justice / Nanako, Heirophant / Dojima: Outside Dojima’s house; speak to papa Dojima and pick the second option.
Magician / Yosuke, Star / Teddie: Junes Food Court
Death / Hisano: Riverbank
Moon / Ai: School 1F
Fortune / Naoto: School Learning Building 1F
Sun / Music or Drama: The Club Venue, School
Once you’ve talked to everyone, at that point the game will tell you to ā€˜return to your house and get ready for tomorrow’ - do not do this!

Instead, select ā€˜No’, then return to the Junes Food Court. Examine the elevator. Refuse to go home again, selecting ā€˜No’, and then select ā€˜I’m not finished yet’ and ā€˜Yes’. Finally, pick ā€˜There’s something missing’.

Next, head to the Riverbank to speak to Dojima and Nanako for another scene. Then head to the Velvet Room to get the Orb of Clarity from Igor. On a second play-through on New Game+, this scene also unlocks a secret boss.

Head to the Shopping District South and to the gas station. Speak to the attendant. Keep talking until you get the choices right to learn something about the attendant; you can now access the unique dungeon Yomotsu Hirasaka.

You can now head to the Midnight Channel and beat the Yomotsu Hirasaka dungeon to learn the ultimate truth. Once you enter the midnight channel, it’s a point of no return - so you might want to ensure your equipment and such is as you want it first.Defeat the final, final boss to get the true, ultimate ending to Persona 4 Golden.

Unlocking the other Ultimate Challenges: Hollow Forest Dungeon and Margaret’s Secret Boss
As a side note, there are two more ultimate challenges you can unlock if you so wish. They have no bearing on the ending you receive, but they’re worth making a note of:

Hollow Forest is a unique secret dungeon associated with Marie. This was added to the ā€˜Golden’ version of Persona 4, and is unlocked by maxing out Marie’s Social Link relationship. It has extra story and is the most challenging dungeon in the game.
Margaret’s Super Boss Battle is only available in New Game Plus. You’ll need to go through towards the True Ending in your second play-through just the same, but then visit the Velvet Room twice towards the end - once to get the Orb of Clarity from Igor, and once again to visit Margaret. She’ll give you an item that will explain how to challenge Persona 4 Golden’s ultimate battle.
