Aircraft Controls

Seat Controls

- Pitch yaw and roll are on the seats.

- Throttle mode switches on the floor to the right of the pilot's seat.

- 1: Throttle Up (push)

- 2: Throttle Down (push)

- 3: Brake (default on)

- 4: Landing Gear

- 5: Open Bomb Bay

- 6: Drop Bombs (sequential order, each push drops one bomb)

Engine Controls

- Engine Fuel switches are on the bottom left part of the front panel.

- Engine Starter switches are on the bottom center part of the front panel.

- Engine Throttle is on the left side of the bottom panel.

- Engine power switches are on the bottom left part of the front panel.

- Engine gauges on the left side of the front panel.

Fuel Systems

- Fuel gauge is on the left side of the front panel.

Lighing and Cabin

- Light Switches are on multiple panels on the left side of the cockpit.

Mechanical Systems and Controls

- Gear and brake indicators are on the left side of the front panel.

- Pushback button is on the right side of the cockpit near the gear controls.

Navigational Equipment

- Directional equipment (compass, artificial horizon) directly in front of the pilot's seat.

- Altitude and speed are to the left and right sides of the artificial horizon.

Aircraft Functions

- Switchable Throttle Modes. Most of the planes I build have a way of switching the way you control the throttle. I have implemented a system that allows you to use three separate modes. 1/2 keys (the default), up/down arrows, and HOTAS.

- Gliding Physics. Putting the throttle at around 0.55 makes the plane have sort of a fake gliding effect. This is done using a wheel glitch. But it allows the plane to be able to fly controllably with only one engine running.

- Pushback button. This button is meant to help taxi the plane for hard situations where you can't reverse on the ground without having to get out and push.

Quick Notes/Quirks

- The plane pitches a bit forward when flying straight and level due to thrust offset to the center off mass.

Startup Procedure

1. Turn on main power

2. Turn on strobe, nav, tail, and interior lights (optional)

3. Turn on both engine powers and fuel pumps

4. Throttle up a bit (about 0.25)

5. Hold both engine starters for about a second each, and throttle down back to about 0.1

6. Once both engines started, throttle up and turn off the brakes

How to take off

- The plane will take off easily with this set of instructions. Follow these to take off correctly

Throttle up to 1.00 and start going down the runway. The plane will want to turn, make sure to counteract that with the rudder and you can take off a bit quicker if you roll to one side to get a wheel off the ground. Once the tail is off the ground, start pulling up. Cruise throttle is about 0.9. It'll save a lot of fuel. Trust me.

You're ready to fly!

The thing that makes this aircraft iconic to me is that it's the oldest in the US Air Tree in War Thunder, and is still available. Even better is the fact that it acts like a Heavy Fighter with gunners instead of Offensive Armament.

Sorry, I just don’t have the time these days.. if I had the choice, I’d build another one that’s better than this one.

could you make a weapons DLC version of this
Thales 15 lipca 2021 o 13:52
Is infinite fuel on?
Simyon 15 lipca 2021 o 12:53
I tested it again but this time with only full throttle and it took 4 minutes to reach 100° in temp and it took 5:41.02 for the plane to overheat. I also have to screenshots of the overheat. Screenshot 1 [1drv.ms] Screenshot 2 [1drv.ms] Both links are onedrive links btw

Weird. Did you have no overheat on?
Zachatttack227  [autor] 15 lipca 2021 o 12:09
I flew it for at least 30 minutes at max throttle, nothing happened..?
Simyon 15 lipca 2021 o 12:07
The overheat happens to me after 21 Minutes. My throttle was 0.77. I changed it to 1 at 14 Minutes tho.

Nice, I can hear engine sound now. Perfect

What? I checked it.. It should work fine.
