Just a small clarification how I ended up with this idea. Some time ago I decided to replay all Thief games and started with Thief 2014, which turned out to be a very weak reboot, but I still managed to do 100% achievement for it. And then I thought, what would more or less interesting and authentic achievements look like for the original games. So, after I completed The Dark Project and thoroughly looked through the levels, I wrote this piece. Enjoy reading and tell me in the comments if you actually tried to do it. Also, below there are clarifying annotations on some of the achievements, that should help you.

These achievements will be automatically received during the playthrough

Choosing your own path
You finished Keeper’s Training and went back to streets

New beginnings
You sold Bonehoard loot and bough new equipment

On a new dirty road
You accepted job from Constantine

So the Trickster is real after all...

Saving the world...
You saved the whole world by robbing a deity!

These achievements require you to perform difficult moves throughout the game

Good thief is fast thief
Complete Thieves’ Guild under 30 minutes

Attentive
Complete at least 3 levels collecting all possible loot

Why to knock when you can just pass?
Complete a level without knocking out anybody (except levels with non-human enemies supremacy) (1)

Animals have rights too
Don’t kill any burricks, spiders, craymen or Trickster’s beasts (2)

Ghost
You finished level without leaving any traces of your presence (except levels with non-human enemies supremacy) (1) (3)

Thieving Expert
Finish the game on expert difficulty

Killing is a sign of amateur
Finish the game without killing anybody

Now you don’t see me
Finish the game without being detected

True Garrett
You finished the game on expert difficulty without being detected or killing anybody

These achievements require you to perform certain actions on certain levels

Skilful Taffer
You killed enemy in the sword fight without taking any damage (4)

Cleaning up
You removed the evidence of murder

Good Student
You completed training without failing any trial

Banner Lord
You found secret passage to throne room in Bafford’s Manor

Cragscleft Redemption
You left Cragscleft without triggering the alarm

Holy water for heretic
You found holy water source in Bonehoard

Real Thief
You “thieved” the most precious thing for Ramirez

Restoring the Light
You activated all lights in Old Quater

Facing the Dark
You didn’t activate any lights in Old Quater

Old friends first
You visited abandoned Keepers’ base before coming to The Cathedral

Tomb Raider
Collect all possible loot in The Lost City

Reckless Move
Steal in front of Hammerite

Make Church Holy Again
You eliminated all undead in Return To The Cathedral

Thief can always find something steal
Find any valuables during Strange Bedfellows

These achievements require you to do specific things several times

No mercy
Backstab 10 guards (6)

Knock, Knock
Knock out 100 enemies (6)

Not so sneaky
You got detected 100 times (6)

Paladin in cloak
Eliminate 10 zombies while going through Old Quater

Purification by light
Kill 5 or more zombies by one flash bomb

General:

All spoiler-covered achievements are supposed to be secret until receiving.

By knock out I mean all the ways of making guards unconscious including blackjack, gas arrows and gas mines.

By being detected I mean activating 3 level alert: the enemy sees you and tries to eliminate. This works for human-enemies only, so if you are detected by undead or animals it doesn’t count.

By eliminating zombies I mean completely destroying them, so they cannot wake up after some time. By killing zombies I mean temporarily disabling them by sending into “dormant” state.

Special:

(1) Levels that don’t count: Training, Bonehoard, The Haunted Cathedral, Lost City, Return to the Cathedral, Escape, Strange Bedfellows, Maw of Chaos

(2) So, essentially you can only kill undead creatures. Using gas arrows on any of other creatures does not count as killing.

(3) This includes: no knock outs, no torches put out, no moss arrows used, no level 1 alerts aka “thought I saw something...”

(4) A swordsman guard should be level 3 alerted and die by receiving only sword damage made by you, while you shouldn’t receive any damage at all during the process.

(5) This means not activating level 2 alert: enemies go searching for you

(6) These are counted not by save files but by game in general. In short, you can get them by reloading one save file.

I also didn’t specify exact actions for several achievements for the aesthetics and you to guess, but if you really want to know, here is the unraveling:

Cleaning Up - clean the blood with water arrow after killing guard

Real Thief - kill Ramirez’s burricks

Quote-unquote - open quote list in the secret room in Training Level

Thief Dunk - shoot the ball through the hoop in the secret room in Training Level

Garrett In Wolderland - Find Little Big World in The Sword

Thirteenth Chapel - get out of bounds. I won’t specify the level where you can easily do it, but give small hint: you can do it from simple balcony

Blooper Reel - enter secret joke mission
