The Valkyrie was meant for expansion efforts into deep space. It has everything that is necessary for extended missions. A low number of engines and reactors to reduce fuel consumption, yet twice as much fuel storage as necessary. It has enough crew quarters for a small colonization effort, with two med bay areas. It also has two refinery and assembler rooms for production of necessary materials to build bases at new locations. It also has enough solar panels to power the necessary systems so that reactor fuel can be conserved. Lastly, it can carry two utility skiffs in its hangar for transport to and from a local starbase.

Although meant almost entirely for colonization efforts, the Valkyrie is not defenseless. Its weapons exist primarily for self defense though, as its light armor will not allow it to remain in combat for extended periods.
