A possible way to increase performance in the game
By haemrit
Recently discovered that you can use the affinity in the task manager to increase game's performance, so let's check it out:

Start up Terraria and minimize it (Note: only works for CPU's that have more than one core)
After you launched the game, minimize the game's window and open the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc
Click on "More details" down below the task manager if you never opened it, then click on "Details" and search for the Terraria.exe process, right click it and press on "Set affinity"
After that the "Processor affinity" window opens, and then you need to uncheck the first CPU, basically named "CPU 0", then close the task manager, and come back to your game, and try if that helped.
If it helped:
If it helped you, you're gonna have to uncheck the first core everytime you start the game, so keep that in mind. (there's programs that can automate that process, but i'm not that smart to do it so..)

Warning: If you do this and you want to play multiplayer, you'll get high ping. Found that out myself. Great tip otherwise for those who don't go online much!

you can check it by right pressing "Windows button+R", and type in "msconfig", after the dialogue window opens up, go to "Boot" and press "Advanced options...", there check the box named "Number of processors" and you can see how many you have, and also you can select the max number used by the system

What if you don't know how many cores you have?
