Aachen class SSBN

The Aachen is a large submarine designed to actually be somewhat fun to fight. I've placed in a lot of balancing features and interesting strengths and weaknesses to try to make this as balanced and challenging to fight as possible.

The Aachen is armed with 6 large torpedoes, 10 huge missiles, and 6 medium missiles. The medium missiles don't really serve a purpose though. Two of the large torpedoes are remote guided and 3 of the huge missiles are also remote guided.

For defense, the sub relies on decent armor and a lot of interceptors along with a huge decoy. I also has changing behaviors and ACB varying combat altitude.

The weaknesses are where this sub gets interesting. The Aachen's missile compartment is mostly heavy armored besides that it also has open hatches on the top and only one layer of alloy protecting some side pieces. I've also given it a ring shield conveniently placed to destroy the decoy if hit in the right place. Between the missiles I've placed ammo compartments to make it even easier to disable. Another weakness is ASW planes and helis. I wanted the sub to be easily countered by realistic ASW weaponry and to do that, I've given it bad detection and very little weaponry to combat planes and helis.

For detection it relies on passive sonar and buoys so even the detection can be countered with an ASW craft.
