Description
The Valiant is a large destroyer built to be a strong and quick interceptor with modest firepower and strong armor for a destroyer.

The Valiant has a pretty standard set of weaponry. It is armed with three dual barreled sabot railguns and eight radar guided kinetic missiles (these have very low firepower ratings but they're pretty good against well defended targets).

Defensively the Valiant is much more competent, utilizing strength 10 shielding and smoke alongside its high top speed and solid maneuverability. The ship relies on two steam propellers and two large azipods at the rear to reach speeds of around 40mps in fights without any hyrdrofoils or glitches. The ship also decent anti-missile and torpedo systems made up of a rear CIWS/AA gun along with radar decoys and plenty of interceptors.

The built in weakness of the ship is the weak armor on the guns and the thin necks on several of them. I think that the guns should be (I may have removed this) vulnerable to heat as well. Even with a decent anti-missile system, a solid missile should be able to breach it and deal damage.

After all the recent super detailed ships I've made, this ship is a lot more simplified and is also being delayed for posting while I try out the adventure mode. Also the hull should be simple enough that most players could easily dissect it to learn from.

If anyone is interested in submitting a vehicle or structure or building something for my faction please let me know, I'll also gladly take suggestions for ships to use as references or ideas for crafts that would fit in with the rest of the faction. If anyone wants any additional information about the faction or campaign, feel free to message me or comment.

As always, feel free to critique or comment on the ship or ask any questions below.

I hope you enjoy the ship!

It all depends on what you're going for, my standard layout is alternating metal and alloy which isn't optimal although you have very good buoyancy. I like to include one layer of some type of slope (usually wood for EMP protection) with the slope facing inwards. I use a relatively light layout because I don't usually have space for huge air pockets in my builds. I'd suggest borderwise's videos on armor for more information. I'll warn you that I normally nerf my armor to make it more balanced.

What is a good armor layout?

Oh that makes sense

It definitely is closer to cruiser size and price although the functionality is more of that of a destroyer. The reference for it was the farragut class destroyers which were similarly sized to it.

If anyone else has any opinions, please tell me as I'd be happy to change this if more people think it should be.

Really like the look of this ship. But I think you should call a cruiser
