Playing K Station
Welcome to K Station! K Station is a text parser game, meaning that the game is controlled exclusively by keyboard. Your character, Maya, navigates with arrow keys. All interactions are done through typed commands.

The parser in this game is very strict. In most cases, synonyms are not accepted. All items in the game highlight themselves with labels when you approach them. Try to stick to calling objects and people by the name given to them by the game.

Common verbs in this game include: TALK, ASK, LOOK, TAKE, USE, READ, PLAY, and PRESS. TURN, REMOVE, and OPEN are also used.

Keep your syntax simple. If you are following this guide and get stuck because you do not know which exact command to use, drop a comment and I will update the guide.

The HELP menu has more parser information.

Typing HINT at any time will usually give you a hint on how to progress the story.

Typing INV will access your inventory.
The First Day
Have a look around your room. You can read some information using the nearby terminal.

>TAKE BIFF

Biff is a musical bear, if you wind him up, he plays a little tune!

Our next goal is to explore the station. Feel free to look around and get used to navigating the station. Get to know the characters a little bit and see what they have to say. Your route will take you into the library and then through the lab. Head right at the greenhouse, past the classroom, and eventually you will end up at the bridge. When we eventually try to leave the bridge, a short scene plays.

Go back to the lab.

>ASK JULIA FOR GRADIENT SWEEPER

She does not have it, so

>ASK YAN FOR GRADIENT SWEEPER

Finally, go to the greenhouse and through the exit, as everything fades to black.
Reset 1: A Game of Chess
Somehow, we have reset in our bedroom. Let's have another look around. You will start noticing some changes in the station.

In the library, the gardener John is now walking around. Look at the book pile to notice a chessboard underneath, and then

>ASK JOHN ABOUT CHESS

He has not played in about six months.

In the lab, Julia is nowhere to be seen. If you ask Yan about Julia, you get a strange response. Since Julia is nowhere to be seen, you can

>TAKE TIME MACHINE

Try to use the time machine, but it needs the authorization of a senior officer.

Head through the rest of the station. A few other things have changed as well.
In the greenhouse, look at the tool shed and the new console that is here. Note that this console seems to be playing a chess game. Head through to the bridge.

Look at the pile of work orders to see they are all chess-related, and ask Muller about work orders. She should give you one. Our objective is to beat the machine at chess.

Next, look at the captain's earring, and ask each person about the other people in the room.

Eventually, Muller expresses the desire to go back in time, and the time machine activates.

>USE TIME MACHINE

and you can now time travel to six months ago. Go to the cafeteria and John is here, playing chess against himself. Walk up to the board.

>PLAY NE5 ON CHESS BOARD

John should say it is a competent move and will respond with QH2. Return to your bedroom. Use the work order on the typewriter and follow the onscreen instructions to input the QH2 move.

Return to the bridge and travel to the future. Give the work order to Muller and she will authorize it.

Take the authorized form to the greenhouse and insert the form into the console.

The machine will spit out a new move. You will have to repeat the steps of this puzzle twice more to continue the game, asking Muller for a new work order each time.

Eventually, our interventions will cause a calamity, and things fade to black once more.
Reset 2: A Love Triangle
You awaken in your bedroom. More changes this time. The greenhouse is totally gone, and the gardener is nowhere to be found.

The objective isn't very clear here, but we are meant to be exploring this weird triangle between Lily, Muller, and Nasser. You might need to go back and forth a bit. In the bridge, in the current day, start interrogating them about each other and about the earring that the Captain wears. Go back to the past if necessary, too. Eventually, these characters will start talking about their personal diaries/logs.

Armed with this information, we can start trying to social engineer access to these logs. In present day, go to your bedroom's computer. Muller and Nasser's names lead to dead-ends for now, but username CAPTAIN gives you a password hint: ON EARRING.

Ask the captain about her earring and she will not part with it. Go back to the past, and speak to Nasser in the cafeteria. Ask him about the earring, and he will give it to you. Examine it to see the password: FOR MY MOOSH.

In the present day, you can use CAPTAIN and FOR MY MOOSH to get into Lily's files. Read her log to learn about Muller's picnic. Asking Muller about picnics opens up a new time machine date.

Go back to the cafeteria 6 months ago and get the earring back from Nasser. With the earring, travel immediately to May 4, 2318 and go to the bridge. Ask the Captain about her earring. Show her the earring. You get another new date.

Travel to Christmas and explore the station. Notice that the library is not built yet. Go to any other time period and enter the library, and time travel to Christmas.
Reset 4: Making Music
You awaken in your bedroom a fourth time. There are some more major changes in the station.

The janitor has come inside, and the captain is now completely missing. In addition, the classroom has totally vanished, and has been replaced by a vending machine. Kids are running rampant. A new music room has appeared. You may also notice that your time machine has vanished.

Reading the note on the vending machine, it says that if candy is not continuously ordered, it is likely to explode. We need to do something about these kids, eventually. However, it's a bit of a red herring. Our puzzle this time lies in the new music room.

In the music room, take the tuner. You can also read a series of notes on the wall, over 20 of them, for hints.

Examine the sheet music and ask about it. Learn about 433.8, a special and dangerous frequency.

Take the tuner. You can use this tuner on anything that makes noise. Use the tuner on Biff, your musical bear that you should still be carrying.

OPEN BIFF for the music box inside of him (Sorry, Biff).

Once you have the music box, LOOK at it. If you turn the screw to the left, you will lower the frequency. Do that 2-3 times until the music box is in the target range. When you listen to the music, it will be low pitched and the screen will shake. You will also need to remove the horn. Finally, put the music box in the resonator.
Reset 5: Sweets
The station continues to shrink. In this newest reset, the music room has vanished, and Barry is now hanging out with Muller and Nasser. Not much else is different.

Speak to the janitor and learn that he has a crush. Ask him about Meena. Then, ask Meena about the janitor. She says that she has something going on with someone else. It's not Barry, Muller, or Nasser. Asking her about the librarian gets her to open up.

Next, go to the library. Take the cookbook which is now on the shelf and show it to the librarian. Then, take the music book and show that to him as well.

Return to Meena and give her the music book. Then, give the music book to the janitor. He gives you a bell.

Go to the hallway with the swarming kids and use the bell. When they start following you, walk offscreen.
Reset 6: Gaming
In the newest reset, Meena and the kids are gone. The station is beginning to get ominously quiet. There is also a note in the hallway that you should read.

In the lab, if you try to take the mini warhead, Yan now lets you. Get it.

Play the arcade machine in the cafeteria, and you will win. Each time you win, a new note will appear elsewhere in the station. When you find and read the new note, your high score will be beaten.

Keep repeating the cycle of finding notes and playing the game for awhile. Finally, when you have set an ultimate high score, rig the machine with the mini warhead.

Go to your bedroom, and though you may be expecting a big boom, nothing happens.

Our opponent is discouraged. Return to the machine and swap the toy bomb in again.

Replay the machine, and leave your name as SHOWME. Then, rig the machine with the real bomb once again.

Return to your bedroom again, enter, and then turn around and leave. An explosion happens as you leave the room, and we head into the seventh reset.
Reset 7: The Barricade
Another day. The base keeps on shrinking; we are now down to only two rooms and a long hallway. Warning lights are flashing.

By exploring, you soon learn that Yan has had a nervous break, and has barricaded himself in the control room. He plans to kill everyone on the base by deactivating the shields.

Our goal is to help Yan.

I found this puzzle to be really tricky. Muller, Nasser, and Barry are all trying to to stop Yan, but they don't say much, and there are no new items to pick up.

if you talk to everyone and ask everyone about everyone else, you can sort of get some vague hints.

Go back to your bedroom and use your terminal. Try to log in as each of these three people and look at their password hints.

Go and talk to each of them about their password hints, and each of them will give a cryptic clue in response.

Barry's password is Muller
Muller's password is Nasser
Nasser's password is Lilies

For each of these people, access their terminal and then use the sleep command to knock them out.

Finally, when all three people are asleep, return to Yan and speak to him.
Reset 8: Rats
We are down to a bedroom and a control room. Muller is here.

Take the clothes. Return to your room, open the vent, and stuff them in.

Return to the lab, and Muller is asleep.

Out in the hall, the mice follow you.

Retrieve the clothes from your room. Enter the lab, and the mice swarm you.

Enter the PRESS BUTTON command.
Reset 9: ...
The base is now quite small.

Read your email.

Go to bed.
