Notes
A sort of catch-all of notes as I go through my own playthrough. People raising monsters should really read up on Oulak's Monster FAQ over at gamefaqs. BR used in this context means Battle Rank. Higher BR means tougher and higher tier of monsters.

Stupid easy monster to morph into
If Riki, Black Dragon. Only needs the Petrifying Gas since Fang and Tail are already there.
Suzaku only needs Fire Barrier.
Sphinx requires only Sphinx Riddle and it's a fun tech to use.

Skills:
Tail: If Timelord's region is accessible, the 1st beast enemy on the left side is a Wonderdog accompanied by 4 Straysheeps. If stuck on max BR. There's a chance the random thug encounter in the Koorong backstreet may spawn a Wonderdog. (Said thug fight may have Gekko, Pickbird, Sprite and Rocky show up as side enemies as well) Needed for Black Dragon morph.
Scalding Gas/GasFlame: On max BR, Liquid Metal in Koorong sewers or Chimera in Shrike's Bio Lab. Chimera is the rightmost enemy on the first screen. Chimera is always guaranteed to spawn unlike Liquid Metal. Needed for Chimera morph.
Petrifying Gas: Crystal Tree in Bio Lab. Works even against Dullahan sometimes.
Sphinx Riddle: Stupidly fun to use, pain to grind. Insta KO dumb enemies. Does not work on mechs, (all?) higher tier dragons and Dullahan. If accessible to Time Lord's region, farm there. Otherwise see Koorong section.
Fire Barrier: Shrike Bio Lab. Guaranteed Suzaku spawn in the bottom floor area.

Koorong
Unicorn/Succubus: Koorong's sewer level, one screen away from the Natural Cave. Approach the fairy it'll poof and spawn a beast type enemy instead. The beast type will always be a Unicorn if on max BR. If you touch the fairy directly the main enemy will always be Succubus.

Genbu: If no access to Time Lord's region. When on max BR. Commonly spawned from the lizard enemy in Koorong sewer screen that's 1 screen away from the one way airport exit. Drops Genbu Shield. Easier way to grind Thunderbolt/Lightning Crash

Liquid Metal/Airfolk: When on max BR. Found in the same location from the slimes here. Gust is a good skill to grind for. Easier place to spawn than the Natural Cave location.

Living Sword/Valkyires: In this same location. They show up as side enemies often-ish.

Butch: Koorong Natural Cave's 1st screen. Max BR. Common main enemy as beast type.

Sphinx/Wyvern/Cockatrice, IceWorm/Sickle Bug: Max BR. Natural Cave with the treasure + bugs and bird spawns. The Koorong Natural Cave may spawn them as main enemy. Bird type for Sphinx/Wyvern/Cockatrice. Bug type for IceWorm, Sickle Bug, and occasionally Slugger. Time Lord's region is a better place to grind Sphinx however. Suzaku may appear from the bird spawn as well depending on your RNG seed.

Gelatin/Snowfolk/Airfolk, Lich/Skullasaurus: Max BR. One screen to the left of the treasure with the one skeleton and slime spawn. The slime can have either Gelatin or Snowfolk as main enemy. Lich or Skullasaurus from the skeleton. Bio Lab has the guaranteed Snowfolk spawn however.

Shrike Sei's Tomb
Lamia/Valkyire/GriffinJr: Max BR. Fairy enemy here may have them as the main enemy. Griffin Jr is on the rare side however...

Shrike Bio Lab
Crystal Tree: On max BR. Literally the first enemy in Shrike Bio Lab, the one closest to the entrance. Notable for its Petrifying Gas needed for Black Dragon requirement. Also has Magnetic Storm skill. Basilisk, Ogre Lord may appear as side enemies.
Dullahan: Max BR. 1st screen, the scientist in the middle.
Chimera: On max BR. The rightmost enemy on the first screen in Shrike Bio Lab.
Snowflk: Max BR. Bottom scientist in the stairwell area.
Suzaku: Max BR. Bottom floor's left hut. The left scientist that's a disguised bird type.

Time Lord region
Wonderdog: 1st screen beast enemy on the left
Minotaur: 1st screen beast enemy on the right
Rock Baboon x2: 2nd screen
Prima Bronza: The 2 little girls on 3rd screen
Sphinx: Bird enemy on the 3rd screen
Fire Crystal/Ice Crystal: Slime on 4th screen
Scorpion x5: Bug on 4th screen
Genbu: Bottom lizard enemy on hourglass screen
Fishman + Gunfish x3: Top lizard enemy on hourglass screen

Sphinx Riddle is still in the game, I absorbed it directly from a Sphinx. Some of the monster names have been changed as well, so adding that to this list would be helpful.

Was the skill "Sphinx Riddle" removed in Remastered? In Red's story after recruiting Cotton, I received "Wing Slap" instead when defeating Sphinx at Sei's Tomb.

MegaWindBlast to Gale Blast

MegaWindBlast was changed too but I can't remember to what.

The little chest in the two trapped chests room in Mu's tomb has a decent change to be a Living Mirror so I just quicksaved and reset very many times to learn it.
Paper Rabbit  [author] 22 Apr, 2021 @ 12:35am
Much obliged. Where did you even find Living MIrror to grind for that consistently... Fascinatu?

Would make more sense with the Stink Gas if there's a Mustard Gas. Some of these I had to take an educated guess based on the 4 possible skills the monster can learn.
Rebelle Winter 22 Apr, 2021 @ 12:00am
Just a couple more, StinkGas is Mustard Gas and PsyReflector is Psy Reflector. The table as StinkGas as Knockout Gas but I think that should be the new name for SleepGas.
Rebelle Winter 21 Apr, 2021 @ 9:57pm
FireBarrier is Flaming Veil now also.
Paper Rabbit  [author] 21 Apr, 2021 @ 2:48pm
My condolences to your sanity. Thank you very much for taking one for the team
Rebelle Winter 21 Apr, 2021 @ 4:47am
GriffinScratch is just Gryphon Scratch now, learned it after a very long time in the Bio Lab.
