Description
The TAF-5 P1 Ronin is the 5th generation of fighters I've produced. As it uses the AI it's pretty crappy, but it can still compete for its low price. The TAF-5 also requires detection support as its small size doesn't have the space for much more while maintaining its proportions and speed. The TAF also has a primitive cockpit but can't be manually controlled for now.

Offensively the TAF-5 is armed with 8 small missiles and an EMP particle cannon. Both of these weapons are tuned to fight air targets, so don't expect anything too crazy from them.

Defense wise, the TAF-5 has no armor and relies entirely on some simple flares, decoys, chaff and its speed and agility to avoid missiles. Against lasers, it has some smoke, but likely it'll just die.

Also it's been suggested that maybe I should create a discord for the faction. I have virtually no experience with discord outside of having an account I haven't used in years, but if anyone is interested in this idea or helping out with this, let me know.

If anyone is interested in submitting a vehicle or structure or building something for my faction please let me know, I'll also gladly take suggestions for ships to use as references or ideas for crafts that would fit in with the rest of the faction. If anyone wants any additional information about the faction or campaign, feel free to message me or comment.

I'm also looking for people to help test out the ships already designed and to provide feedback on potential changes and suggestions along with issues with ships. (on older ships, if steam engines don't work, just message me and I'll update the file)

To pile on even more information, if anyone has any ideas about how to get more submissions or get more community involvement in the campaign, let me know.

Feel free to upload the new version, I like the changes made (I need to leave on the missiles so it has some extra anti-plane/ship systems as it is being adapted for carrier usage) but I like the changes you've made and have actually made a few similar changes since the craft has been uploaded

also make a great suicide craft if you had a nuke or two and an ACB.

I also changed the PAC charging time to 20 seconds, and made the bombing run move further away from target, so each run ends up in a shot. I don't think it made the plane better, it's just more pleasing to watch, and also doesn't use as much material as before, since there is no ammos used. the quantity of material it uses is still impractical for long duration combat, though. unless there is a larger craft to share material with around.

this is a good plane as you made it, but I made a few modifications. the missile decoys tend to get caught on the tail, and usually, missiles still go after the plane, so I got rid of them. like I got rid of the other missiles, to keep only the PAC. I added a camera (and enough processing power to sustain everything) and modified the AI to target cluster of blocks, which allow the plane to target the main body of the enemy's craft, which usually helps to get a hit. I changed the speed averaging time to 3 seconds, bearing to 2, and range to 1.5, which gives about 80% chance of hit on fast moving targets, even the Flying Squirrel.

@Chunkblaster I did some testing against a bunch of planes from the workshop (mostly your small fighters) and pacs are the way to go for AA on any small plane
