Intro
Hello and welcome to this Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) guide. This guide will give you a walkthrough and some tips and tricks of how to earn money. You will need at least €30 to purchase a S.S. Eurochicken from a broker, and further income to buy a tractor and a trailer with which to start driving.
How to Earn Money in Euro Truck Simulator 2
Earning money in ETS2 is very easy, you just have to use various methods. Let’s start by going over some of the methods in use right now:

Stampeden Water

This method requires you to transfer several containers of water to a terminal and it takes around one hour. Stampeden water is very cheap and allows you to earn a huge amount of money, as you can see here.

High Price Destinations

You can also earn a lot of money by choosing locations like the Adriatic sea, the Nile river and the Sahara desert. You will need a longer time to transfer the water but that means a lot of money for you!

Transfer Items

This method is very simple, you simply have to send yourself an item. This could be a banana or something as simple as a bottle of water or a piece of bread.

Make a delivery

This is an optional and more advanced method. Just make a delivery for a fee and it will help you with your earnings. You can make a delivery right now for free and see how much you can earn!

Tips and Tricks

If you are interested in how much you can earn, just follow this guide that will show you how much you can earn right now.

Gotta make a delivery!

Make a delivery to a certain location, then you will earn a hefty amount of money. This will work in any of the locations on any of the vehicles. Just pay the fee and choose a delivery.

Making a delivery

If you want to earn some money just make a delivery, then make sure you have the cargo and fuel to justify the delivery and don’t forget to send the water.

Remember the Worry money

Every time you get nervous and the markets drop, you will lose money. This is why it is very important to make sure that you keep calm and don’t go into panic mode.

What about tips and tricks?

Tips and tricks are simply easier ways to earn more money. Here are some useful tips and tricks that will increase your earning potential:

Wait for the markets to recover

If the markets don’t recover, you can wait and see. Don’t rush into any purchase, and if you want to get more money, do some research and wait for the market to go up.
What Truck to Use?
If you're feeling confused about what truck to use for what job, then please read my guide on the subject. Or for a one-size-fits-all guide: if you have a Ford F-150 and want to get a job as a crane driver, go for that.

First of all you need to make sure your truck is built to handle a lot of weight. I used a Ford F-250 and I managed to haul a good amount of weight.

Renault Trucks
The Renault Trucks are a British-built truck which came out in 2015, just before the Euro Truck Simulator 2 came out. This was in itself a minor version of the PS3 version of the game, where you also could buy the Renault Trucks after you had finished the game. The Renault Trucks use a similar vehicle configuration to that of the Scania, but there are certain modifications you can make to make it suitable for a small truck.

Scania Trucks
If you are looking for a company in your area, you might want to visit the Scania page. They have a large section on their website of local companies that might need your services, including the transport of supplies in your area.

Volvo Trucks
Volvo Trucks are a Swedish company. They have trucks in numerous versions, including the brand new Volvo FL and Volvo B58. I did not drive this variant of the truck as I did not see a lot of jobs there, but there are jobs you can do. As a passenger, you will be asked to deliver a letter in or near the area of the town where you will drive from. In the passenger seat of a FL, the job is to deliver a letter to a certain address. In the Volvo B58, the passenger has a job to deliver a copy of a letter to an address in or near the area of your starting location. I have not done this, but I would think it would not be difficult to drive such a truck. You will need to drive past the public roads to your destination, and cannot drive on the motorways unless you are in a driver's seat of a Volvo B58.

IVECO truck
The IVECO is a French truck company. It has a great service called ProQuest which offers shipping services in and around France. Again, I did not have much luck with finding jobs with this truck, but I can see it would be a good job for someone who can speak French.

DAF
DAF is another Dutch company, but their trucks come with less options than those of the other companies. The versions of the truck have been standardised so all of them come with the same cab. But there are jobs you can do in DAF. You can drive a DAF Cab overpass to get a client's goods delivered quickly.

Mercedes Trucks
Mercedes Trucks is another Dutch company, and while they do not have any locations in South Africa, they do have a job on their site. The job is to transport a train. The type of train is unknown, but from what I have read in the job description it seems to be a European type. I tried to have a go, but I failed. I believe you need to enter the railway tracks in the "train-track" section of the truck's configuration. After that you need to make sure the train has left the tracks and be sure you are no longer on the train's track. From what I can tell, the track is a siding so the tracks are at the same level as the road. If not, you could lose control of the truck on the track. I tried in two different ways and both methods failed. There is another job on the Mercedes Trucks site that I did not try, but it involves driving a Mercedes to deliver ice cream.

MAN truck
The MAN Trucking company has a fleet of trucks for sale. You can buy a different version of the truck every year or three years. But I do not know how one could drive a different version of the truck every year or three years.

There are also jobs you can do in MAN, such as truck driving, car transport, tractor operation and many more.
Should I buy a trailer?
The first and most important question that you should ask yourself before buying a trailer is: do you want a trailer because you want to drive a trailer, or do you want to tow a trailer?

To tow a trailer, you need to hire a driver or taxi driver. This means paying them €6 for every trip they make, regardless of how many miles they drive. With a tanker, you will need to upgrade your rig to have a tractor. At this point, you will be able to drive an HGV but you will have to pay a premium to hire a driver to drive your truck around.

To drive a trailer yourself, you can buy one outright for €6, or you can lease one for €30 per month. If you pay for the trailer, you will need to make sure to keep the company truck repaired and up to date.
Conclusion
There is no better way to earn money in ETS2 than by taking passengers to work. There are multiple routes to take, but some routes are easier than others. Most of the routes are very lucrative, and you are going to be pretty successful if you take the long route.
