Sandstorm Debris Fix

In 1 collection by πe = 3^2 = g = 10
Quality-of-Life Pack
19 items
Description
This mod adjusts the behavior of sandstorm weather to be more consistent with snow and ashfall in the base game. It prevents sandstorms from creating buildups of solid loose silt blocks and causes them to instead coat surfaces with "sand" tile modifiers. It achieves this by patching the file for the invisible weather "projectile" produced by sandstorms.

To summarize: with this mod, you will not have to worry about structures on desert and scorched planets getting clogged up with loose silt.

This mod is safe to remove at any time.

I prefer this mod cause at least it generates a coat, more realistic in my op. Ty for the mod <3

This mod only replaces the solid loose silt produced by sandstorms with a non-solid sand coating to match the snow and ash coatings produced by snow and ashfall weather, respectively.

The "Less Annoying Weather" mod, according to its description, eliminates all loose silt buildup as well as the snow and ash coatings produced by weather.

Whether one mod is better than the other is largely dependent on your preferences.

I was wondering if this is better or different from "Less Annoying Weather"

Sigh... okay. Maybe it ain't your mod in particular, because there was multiple conflicts going on.
I can't be bothered to work with spaghetti of a cross conflict, so I'm gonna have to just see if someone could untangle the mess in my pack.

Have you been testing for the issue each time you added or removed a single mod? If you have been adding or removing multiple mods in between tests, then the information you are providing is not useful to me. If you cannot be bothered to test each individual mod because your mod list is just too large, then that's not my problem.

I can tell you that this mod has not had any changes made to it in years. And if you unpack its contents, you will only find a single patch file for a projectile that, as far as I am aware, is only spawned by sandstorms. It's about as simple as a mod can get. It does not alter the positioning or geometry of any in-game objects, nor does it change any pre-built structures.

Unless the Overhauled Outpost mod, for whatever reason, relies on some part of the file \projectiles\weather\sandstorm\sandstorm.projectile in order to function properly, I do not see how this particular mod can be the culprit.

I wanted to find the problem maker here because the pack I was making I wanted to be polished enough for release. Found out about the bookstore issue during my recent and longer playtest. If you want to look into how Sandstorm Debris Fix somehow alters Anom's Outpost Overhaul Bookstore and patch out that error, you could to remedy the weird bug and have it not break anymore. Also, someone else in comments here mentions about a bug that happens with Arcana when this mod is on.

I was running a huge modlist too. But because it flew over my head before, I didn't notice the offset happening. I was removing huge chunks of mods from my pack to see if any of them fix the Overhauled Outpost's Bookstore and I ended up narrowing down to this one all the way near the back of the list.

Removing this mod foxed the bookstore room's position, but I guess now I more reasonably would question why this mod was doing that. I am running the Outpost Overall with almost all the additional stuff in it, including the Pixel Equipment that goes a store down from bookstore (right underneath it). I've also been running in OpenStarbound, but that can't be the issue.

@Palladium346 I've been using the combination of mods you listed for years in a bunch of different huge modlists and never had problem you listed - unless something changed in any of this mods in last month I haven't been playing, it must be something else in your modlist

@Palladium346 What exactly led you to this conclusion? Did removing this mod resolve your issue?
Palladium346 7 Mar @ 1:29am
This mod conflicts with Anom's Outpost Overhaul, namely the Bookstore patch. It offsets the bookstore section itself down one and to the right multiple blocks to the point where it is cutting into the bottom of the Mech Bay. Unless the modder chooses to fix all the little problems here and in other mods caused by this one, do not use the Sandstorm Debris Fix mod. Find an alternate mod somewhere else.
