Union Pacific AC4400CW No. 6378 (SP patched)

6378 is an ex-Southern Pacific AC4400CW that is now owned and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad. The engine was originally SP 311 and built in 1995. Less than a year later - in 1996 - the Southern Pacific was bought by and merged with Union Pacific.

311 was renumbered to 6378, and has retained her old SP colours all the way through her time with Union Pacific, albeit with UP patches on the front and cabsides (the red paint is now very faded, too). The engine is still in service today, and is one of only seven SP patch AC44s still in active service with Union Pacific.
