Viking Sea Kings Vanilla Style Reskin

Description

This mod overhauls the Viking Sea Kings unit appearances in a very vanilla-friendly way.

I think CA was going for this idea that once the Vikings had settled down in Britain, they adopted the local customs and dress. While this may be true, Thrones of Britannia has a problem with culture really being irrelevant, especially with the Viking Sea Kings and the Gaelic Kingdoms. I really wanted to make the Viking Sea Kings look closer to their Viking roots, so one of the things I added, was a Raven shield pattern that seamlessly blends in with the vanilla patterns, because for the most part, the Vikings and Gaels use very similar patterns, so this makes them stand out more. I also added some facial tattoos that some soldiers have a chance of having. As an added bonus I also fixed the furry hats that some of the Viking units wear. The fur part of the hat would be the faction color before, which is very unnatural looking, so I made them the color of wolf and bear fur, with these fur color values being taken from Total War: Attila.

One of the things I thought would be fun and interesting to change in this reskin, is making the Viking Sea Kings in Ireland have some distinctions from their counterparts in Scotland. I thought it was kinda strange how the Vikings in Ireland had some soldiers wearing a tartan sash, even though no Irish Gaels wear them in game. It makes sense for the Vikings in Scotland, because Scottish Gaels wore them, but for the Vikings in Ireland I gave them cloaks that are similar to their local Gaelic counterparts.

For the faction of Orkneyar, I wanted to create a unique appearance for them, because they are closer to, and more directly influenced by Norway. How I approached this was making them slightly less Scottish looking, and somewhat more Norse than Sudreyar and Gallgoidel, (their Viking Sea King counterparts in Scotland.)

The way that the vanilla outfits are set up, there is only 3 possible soldier variations (that means only 3 shield variations too), so I added two more soldier variations to every unit, and approximately 30 possible shield variants per unit, with all soldier variants being able to carry them. The shields are based on the unit's vanilla shields (with a couple more patterns added), in all the faction/ pattern color variations, so it's a better version of the vanilla shield distribution.

So, the Vikings all had their "version" of the natives they settled with
-Scottish/Pictish Vikings (Orkneyar, Sudreyar)
-Gaelic/Irish Vikings (Dyflin and the other norse who starts in the Emerald Island)
-Anglo-Saxon Vikings (Northumbria, and East Engle)

I have an urgent question about modding, could you please give me some resources on how to mod TOB? Thank you so much, really appreciate.
