Boring stuff
I found Outlaws out of the blue while looking for western games to play, and it interested me. It was rather cheap on steam so I bought it. After a few minutes of playing the game, it was very apparent that I needed to save the game; but when I did the game crashed. I tested a few things, before coming across that changing the resolution scale of your display fixes the problem. I don't know exactly how this works, but it just works for me. Hopefully it works for you, next section will lay out how to change your resolution scale.
Computer resolution scale settings
You will want to set your resolution scale to the lowest you can set it, this helps the game not crash? From testing at-least that is what I have come to the conclusion of.

To do this you need to open your settings, (this is for win10) then go to System -> Display -> You should scroll down till you see display resolution. Now you want to select 800x600.
This is the way I got Outlaws to work, once you open the game you should be able to save- if you were crashing before when you tried to save or load.

You might have to do some other funky stuff, but this worked for myself and a friend of mine. So hopefully this solves the problem for everyone!
Now play the game without crashes (hopefully)
If this guide worked, good job! You now can play a game from 1997 made by LucasArts on a game engine that was only used two times!

Let me know if this fixed your problem!

Outlaws is 24 years old, it's going to be broken and not work 100% of the time

Studio (LucasArts) is rather inactive. Last game they made was in 2010 (Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II).
