Black Mesa started life as Black Mesa: Source right after Half-Life: Source released as a faithful remake to Half-Life 1 as HL:S just didn't meet any expectations. A little team called Crowbar Collective would take up the honor of re-imagining Half-Life for modern audiences for the next 18 years.

Black Mesa features two MP modes including Deathmatch and Co-op.

TDM, DM and CTF are the 3 modes you can enjoy on select servers for your MP fun.

While not entirely functional as of 2025, its still a fun experience to go through the game with friends or randoms in a lobby. If you want to go further you can download the 2012 maps for Synergy or get the SourceCoop mod for a better experience.
