Blurry Texture Fix Via The .ini File

This guide is meant to fix the blurry textures glitch caused by the fact the the game wraps VRAM at 2GB resulting in video cards with over 2GB VRAM reading as -1GB of VRAM in game. You need to follow the instructions precisely in order for this fix to work.

The line that needs altered is Case Sensitive
1 - Edit "\steamapps\common\TrackMania United\Nadeo.ini" NOT STEAM_Nadeo.ini

2 - Change delete what is after "Distro=" and make it"Distro=MILIN" and save your changes.

3 - Download http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/TmUnitedForever_Update_2010-03-15_Setup.exe

4 - Install the patch and point it to "\steamapps\common\TrackMania United" (yes the full path included. I omitted the drive path to the Steam Installation)

5 - Run Trackmania from Steam.

If for some strange reason that this doesn't work precisely as instructed, you may need to install the Microsoft DirectX June 2010 update redistributable.

Extract the contents, then run DXSETUP.exe

Restart your PC

Note…

After nearly a decade of waiting…they finally updated the Steam version to fix this issue. Just update the Steam version or verify the game file integrity via Steam to make sure you have the most up to date files.
