Intro & Your Team
Hi,

I'm Sparkkie on the game discord, and if you're done the second story ending, want to farm up some of those cool new Akashic Record unlocks, grab some inspiration for the Astral World, and what I just said made sense... You've come to the right place.

I am 5/5 ED1, 1/5 ED2

The Team
This guide will assume you to have done ED2, and farmed up the summons from desert (although my King Cobra only has 1 kill worth of research) I rely heavily on the +habit and stamina/element regen of my desert summons & equipment. It might still work without it, but It's going to likely be much slower and might even need a second DR. (if some poor soul does try this, please let me know how it went in the comments or on discord)
I stack gold regen from my Golden Slime, use the orb equip and the lesser Wyvern to handle all my regen, and the rest are filled with +habit eff
I swap out +sacred ritual when I'm trying rank up, and I swap in +dark ritual right before I dark ritual
I also try to keep my top filled with swords (mostly for first part, and using sharp spike of course) to speed up farming the non-boss zones early

I hope you're not looking for a specific team recommendation - I'm very opinionated on guides holding your hand too much so instead I included this small rant about the fun of the game being experimenting and exploring, and not to rob yourself of the enjoyment by trying to finish everything asap. I'd also like to finish with a note that I do realize the Irony, but I like to think I'm walking the line perfectly and that this is merely saving you the time of writing down things yourself to try to iron out a plan.

Oh and if you're reading this not on steam - go to steam and find this guide, then tell me where you found it! lots of sites will rip this from the steam community page and it's hard for me to laugh and dismiss feedback when I never get to see it on those sites. Thank you <3
Chapter One: Town
Fresh Start Checklist
  • Spend greed (If you've farmed up a lot of research, you can dump it in before the first DR to get to a higher rank for inspiration, or get to 39 faster and reincarnate sooner)
  • If your stuck, you probably forgot to disable "put in" and its eating your tiny amount of gold.

What do?
Okay with that out of the way, you should be _flying_ through this section as you have a lot of passive destiny regen, and the costs for each quest is basically nothing.

If you didn't already know, the fastest way to get leather is to run Riverbank + Dim Cave on Sloth,
pray you get leather from Orc, but pelts will mostly be tanned into leather for a faster return.

Here is the shopping list for the Town, don't forget you need to unlock 4 wood by doing a couple quests in Forest (don't need to expand fire wood storage)
  • 15 durable leather,
  • 10 pelt,
  • 4 wood,
  • 1 sandwich,
  • 20 firewood (don't need any storage upgrades),
  • 2k Destiny (max and current)

DONT SPEND DESTINY AFTER LEAVING TOWN!!
We need to get to the money eating orphans asap.
Chapter Two: The Forest
  1. Do the 3 combat encounters
  2. Bring your Baby Dragon into the party for 5 dung

fin
Chapter Three: The Actual Content
Right when you get to Town
  1. swap sloth to double bosses
  2. make sure gluttony is on pork & apples

Follow this very specific and complicated route
Enroll > Enterance > Slums > Enter Slums > White Haird Girl > Girl 1-5

Quick Q&A:
Q: I don't see....
A: You forgot to put the baby dragon in your team for Dung

Once you can hit A and shower the Orphans in money
Bring your best boy to the party for the donation bonus and invest in the children.
You shouldn't need to do any quests that require Items from dungeons.
Depending on your stats, and how bad-ass you are, you should be anywhere from 15-30min into the run, I generally never take longer than 30, but I'm easily distracted by writing steam guides and my cats so I seldom make it here in less than 25min

You're hard blocked by the 1hr DR timer right now, and you've got less than 30min of tasks to do.
Here are a few things you should know / can aim for now:
  • Forest > Cafeteria, this uses gold, not destiny
  • Juggle your routines to maximize the class contribution, and not let gold go to waste
  • Gutter Clean > Unlock Combat areas in City (you can passively get the muddy mucus with a summon)
  • Swapping Gluttony/Combat to Slime Jelly for the Sacred Ritual Bonus
  • Library is your best location for Destiny Max unlock
  • Cooking Workshop has a few quests that cost gold instead of destiny
  • Orphanage sucks
  • Wagon Attack? Nah, just a small amount of destiny & habit
  • Get 3 mana and do the wooden statue quest in the forest, it gets you some sacred ritual %
  • Lost of Destiny in the Forest, especially since you ditched Norn is really easy to do

All done
I had ~3.44k with 12 min remaining before Dark Ritual, and was Rank 17
With the Blessing I generally have left, and the Class unlocks to come, I find I'm safe aslong as I've got >3.3k
When you don't need gold for donations, grab Lucky Rabbits Foot if you want to try hard.
Balance your classes, I usually end up with ~1.4x on all 3 Warrior is a little behind since I do try to get +exp and +sacred ritual, and the higher abilities like +sacred ritual are slower.

ZZZZzzzzz....

My Stats @ 1 Hour (don't forget to swap out +dark ritual summons)
~140M Talent
Rank 19

DO THE DARK RITUAL
Chapter Four : Clean up the Demon King
First things to do
  • adjust your Routines and then wait to hit 39
I spend ~ 5-10 minutes setting up my Routines and then I afk for 15 minutes if I want to reincarnate ASAP, or 1 hour if I want to DR once more to get insight and then reincarnate.

But Greed?
If you're close to getting more sin, or have a ton of research (apparently my research pools were quite small compared to some people at this point in the game,) consider dumping greed for the multiplier.
Depending on how much research you've pooled up this could make each run a lot more lucrative.

Stats from my Test Run
I hit Rank 39 at ~1:26:30
killed DK and reincarnated at 1:28:00
I strongly suspect I'm lazy, but so are you, so I wouldn't be surprised if you do better or worse than that time.
Routine Suggestions
... and by suggestions I mean very specific instructions.

Before DR
Class:
  • Spread them out, you want the best raw amount per habit for the dark ritual multiplier
  • Secondly you want to cap Warrior if you can, +exp and +sacred are great to get started asap.
Sacred Ritual:
  • Cap Worship, get the cheap early miracle stone, then just a little extra if you need it to change the cap for Worship from 3 > 2 for example
Energy:
  • Get any regens you might need for combat, I need none
  • Get mana cap up to 3 for wooden statues
Will:
  • Wont reach it
Familiar:
  • No point

After Dark Ritual: (If you want to reincarnate ASAP) :
Class:
  • Cap warrior
  • @ rank ~33: I tend to unlock Chivalry Spirit on Warrior, which I cap along with image
Sacred Ritual:
  • Cap worship, grab Austere and lucky rabbit
  • Dump extra gold into Miracle Stone & Lucky Rabbit throughout run if you're not using it for donate
Energy:
  • Get any regens you might need for combat, I need none
Will:
  • You want to get 28 Asap to start this! usually only takes a couple min
  • DO NOT DUMP EVERYTHING INTO WILL IMMEDIATELY (it's a waste, you have a tiny cap)
  • 5 is good for first cycle, then 8-10 then 15-20
  • Cap should go 10 -> 20 -> 40 -> ~80 (didn't fill)
  • Then do 1 cycle on speed so you fill the bar (~18.5% buff)
  • Finally park ~18 on Holy Will which should fill up right when the timer ticks (adjust as you need to)
  • Once you get Butler speed from your familiar, I do another Will Cap, as I'll start to hit the cap too early and want to put in more than 18 habits.
Familiar:
  • Try to keep one on here, I end up keeping a fat stack while I'm scaling up will
  • Put it on speed, then butler asap

After Dark Ritual: (If you want to DR a second time for more Inspiration, or just to be lazy) :
Same as before, but with less gusto.
"Imma let you finish but..."
You just activated my trap card; welcome to the Shadow Realm.

I put this guide up because the best way to get help with something is to say on the internet and pretend your an authority, so for that reason this guide is perfect and nothing will make it better.

That being said, If there was an easy quest chain with Sacred Ritual% or something else useful I missed. Perhaps your numbers are _waaaay_ better than mine? Fill in a comment down below and tell me how to play the game, I'll be more than happy to steal your hard work and claim it as my own in this guide - this is the internet after all.

If you're really struggling to hit the numbers I did, leave a message and I can try to figure out what I forgot to tell you that I thought was obvious but obviously wasn't.

Thanks for reading!
Additional Notes & "Thank You"s:
I do plan on updating this guide if Sin farming is still relevant once I get further in the game, perhaps ED3+ will bring me new tips and tricks.

If you have some numbers on your own run, PLEASE post them below so I can add them and everyone can get a better idea what a functioning adult might be capable of.

Also huge thank you to Shashachan on Discord <3
I made a lot of really dumb errors in the very first version.

I'm also planning on trying out a route with passive herb regen early to buy medicine & grab some possibly easier destiny max & sacred ritual on the Coast.

@Mdage Donate Gold is on the left, in the Instant Action category.

I assume it was previously in the Orphanage slot when this guide was made, so maybe you already saw it.

Also i should abandon Norm? Noooo... but i guess she does consume time.

Is this guide still valid? When I unlock the orphanage all I get are the soup kitchen quests, nothing about donating gold. Am I not doing this chain correctly?

i don't know how you got your destiny cap high enough to ride the dragon to the castle, but i only just completed my first run thought, so i guess its some boosts i haven't gotten yet

i guess this run needs a "manual" reincarnation? If i select the Wiling Revenge path, Norn's quest lines get in the way and I loose lots of time unlocking those flowers/wreaths and mushrooms/statues

hungry pig man:
when you start, have one AHA that spends habit on envy, after about 10 secs, can switch back to class talent AHA
after envy>satiety is leveled, use only the greed needed to speeds things up. (exp gain, initial talent)
get level 41 instead of lv 39
activate hungry pig man
lvl the rest of the greeds

this gives about 30-40% more complaints

pray>donate:
make an anchovy
make 15 dur leather
pray

by the time you can donate gold, you dont need destiny anymore, and should be using gold on rabbits foot
you will cap destiny long before you have the exp to graduate

also,
at 200k habit eff+, one point into will and austere caps them. aim for this.
be sure to add some sin to will cap+ from time to time to keep it from capping

be sure to have a party slot for inspiration / sacred, and switch to this before clicking sacred ritual.

I love Immortal Rat for regen pelt and Troll for tan pelt and craft durable leather. It requires valley village though.
Ketil 26 Apr, 2022 @ 3:55am
Tried a speedrun, but ended up at around 2 hours 15 minutes for 7 sins. I've farmed valley village summons and done ED3 3 times so I suspect I need to read the guide more closely. Going to finish ED3 two more times before my next attempt. I suspect I put too few habits on the sacred ritual page.

Fastest way is to get good stats and drop rate then farm The Hermit
Whaitea 21 Dec, 2021 @ 6:50am
@Zinho Over 35, which is the current limit. Generally 50-54 at the moment, depending on how much research I put into Greed.

I'll add some tips for the players who are a bit further into the game - you can get sin farming runs under 1h if you manage to reach rank 39 before DR activates. What you need? A lot of habit. Generally Evil City area summons maxxed out help. As well as many inspiration points poured into Astral World habit eff+ upgrade. If this might be not enough, try spending complaints on Sacred Ritual and Habit efficiency in the Envy tab. Low Will cap will be another hindrance when you get to rank 28. If you want, you can optimize the run further by putting sin into Will cap+.
If you don't have a feature that I was talking about unlocked, it means you've not progressed far enough to get the run under 1h. Good luck and have fun farming sin and inspiration!

how many sin do you generally get from a run like this?
