Description
This Ship is Basically a flying gun. Although it uses some modded weaponry its primary weapon is vanilla. It works on a similar principle to a clang cannon but is less likely to blow itself up. The Yeet Cannon as I've affectionately called it Launches a projectile with two large grid warheads at over 1000 m/s WITHOUT a speed mod using gravity generators and the double rotor exploit. This will cripple most ships in one shot. you can fire it while moving but don't rotate the ship too fast while doing so or the warhead will collide with the barrel. However the warheads are setup with a sensor so that they don't arm themselves until they've left the barrel so they shouldn't explode. There are a few other safety features such as the ability to arm and disarm the cannon in order to avoid tempting clang when not in use. It will also auto disarm itself after 2 minutes of being idle. your gyroscopic rotation will be slower when the cannon is armed so be sure to disarm it if you need more maneuverability.

I've tested it and It can be built and used in survival although you will want to lower the delay of the timer block named 'Fire Yeet Cannon 3' on higher weld speed world settings to increase rate of fire(It's currently set up for realistic weld speed).

To operate the yeet cannon go to the main control seat on the bridge or one of the protected bridges and your controls are as follows.

2. Arm Yeet Cannon(a hologram above the cockpit on the observation bridge will switch from off to on when it is finished arming)

4. Hydrogen Thrusters On/Off
5. Fire Flares (Alternates between two groups of flares so that one can fire wile the other is cooling down)
6. M-1s Shoot On/Off
7. M-8s Shoot On/Off
8. Firing Mechanism Camera
9. Disarm Yeet Cannon(a hologram above the cockpit on the observation bridge will switch from on to off when it is finished Disarming)

1. Gravity Drive On/Off (Cant be used at the same time as the yeet cannon. the cannon will be disarmed upon activation. The gravity drive is most useful outside of combat. it's best if you turn the hydrogen thrusters off during use so they aren't fighting it)

Inside the ship you will find buttons called maintenance mode on and off, and hibernate on/off. Maintenance mode just depressurizes the ship and unlocks the maintenance doors. Hibernate turns off some of the most power consuming blocks to significantly increase fuel time when idle.

Feel free to spam any of the buttons. they are setup so that you can't mess them up. Same goes for the yeet cannon controls.

During combat testing I did with my brother in survival mode I found the best strategy is to keep your enemy between 5 and 10 kilometers and shoot them with the yeet cannon while launching M-1 Torpedoes to distract their point defense. Bonus if you multi crew the ship to have someone manually control the coil cannon Turrets as they can shoot farther than the max aiming radius they have(up to 10 kilometers). doing this I was able to defeat my brother who was piloting a 37,000,000 kilogram ship with a lot of modded Heavy weaponry with almost no damage to my own ship(He only got two M-1 torpedoes to hit me).


I've played a lot of Kerbal Space Program and have become somewhat obsessed with realistic nearish future spacecraft. This is supposed to have close to the same level of technology as ships in The Expanse. It would be equipped with 4 deuterium helium-3 Pulsed Fusion thrusters and a number of electromagnetic plasma Thrusters for reaction control. The fusion thrusters would only accelerate the ship at about 0.01 gs or 0.1 if it mixes inert propellant into the exhaust to achieve higher thrust at the expense of a lower specific impulse. This is much lower thrust than in the expanse but more realistic because the engines in the show would generate far more waste heat than their radiators could possibly dissipate. As a result of lower thrust the artificial gravity in my ship has to be generated through the spinning of the ship to create centrifugal forces on crew living in the ring habitat.

The primary weapon would be an Electromagnetic coil gun spanning the length of the ship capable of launching a 1 to 2 ton projectile with guidance at a velocity of 15 to 20 km/s in order to shoot down enemies at hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away. In realistic space battles, range will most likely be the deciding factor in who wins and who dies. Therefore ships would probably be built with really big guns launching projectiles at very high speeds.

I don't wanna be that guy but... Could you possibly build a stripped-down and vanilla-ready version of this? Just the gun and perhaps the gravity drive and everything it needs to be splodey splodey, but with all the unnecessary stuff gone? I'd like to get revenge on some 'friends' with this but currently it seems really chunky and expensive... Just a neat idea, though. This ship is amazing and I was NOT expecting it to be so potent! Kudos to you, pal! Great work!

I'll probably replace the Mexpex coil cannons with player made turrets.

@BadWolf Good news for you then. I'm already working on a vanilla version. Progress is slow though as I have a lot less free time at the moment. The part i'm struggling with is preventing the vanilla turrets from ruining the look.

Fantastic! Your ship totally rocks!!! Only problem is I destroyed ships so far away I couldn't find them again to grind down components. :steamhappy: I tried adding defense shields -- firing the ECG overloads the system. Lower - Fire - Raise does the trick. So does destroying ships so far away that they can't hit you first...
