This mod adds 30 new items related to the Half-Life universe, this guide contains detailed descriptions of each item.

This guide will be updated when new items get added.


- If you have any item ideas or changes, please comment them below!
- If you are experiencing issues please take a look at the "known issues" section in the mod page's description to see if it's there. If the bug is listed, i'm either trying to fix it or it's a minor bug that will get fixed later.
- Removed custom wisps for now since they are causing performance problems for some people.

Item Descriptions [1-10]
CROWBAR
"Create Your Own Entrance"

Type: Active (3 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Shop
Wisps: When used with Book of Virtues, the created wisps will have 2 HP, 3.5 damage and 25% chance to fire confusing tears. [!Wisps are disabled for now!]
Car Battery: Doubles the confusion duration and the damage.

Upon use breaks all doors which can be opened by bombs, deals 30 damage to enemies in the room and confuses the surviving enemies for a short time.


TIE
"Ridiculous!"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Gives -1 Luck and randomly charmes enemies for a short duration. The charming chance isn't affected by Luck.


CAN
"You Picked It Up"

Type: Familiar
Item Pool: Boss

Gives +0.2 Speed up and a familiar that moves in a relatively far orbit around isaac. Deals 5 damage per tick and spawns slowing creep when it's near enemies.


URANIUM 235
"Depleted Uranium"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Isaac's tears are bright orange/yellow and he gains +2.5 damage and 25% tear size increase but loses -0.25 shot speed and one of his heart containers gets converted into a soul heart. (If there aren't any heart containers he will simply gain a soul heart) Additionally, there's 5% chance to fire a poison tear. (100% at 8 Luck)


RETINAL SCANNER
"Access Denied"

Type: Active (4 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Shop
Wisps: When used with Book of Virtues, the created wisps will have 3 HP, 3.5 damage and 10% chance to fire homing and sticky explosive tears. [!Wisps are disabled for now!]
Car Battery: Spawns 8 to 12 enemies and 2 chests in the room.

When activated, the doors will close and 4 to 6 enemies and a random chest will spawn in the room. This is similar to a challenge room but it's only a single wave and does not grant an item charge on completion. (Possible enemies include: Gaper, Maggot, Maw, Brain, Big Spider)


FORBIDDEN NUMBER
"More Than 2, Less Than 4"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Devil

Upon taking it, gives +0.3 damage, +0.3 speed and +0.3 luck stats. Additionally, every time you take damage you have 30% chance to spawn 3 coins, hearts, bombs, keys or batteries. They can't be the golden variants and the more valuable variants are rarer than the regular ones.


CONSOLE
"sv_cheats 1"

Type: Active (6 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Secret
Wisps: When used with Book of Virtues, the created wisps will have 4 HP, 6 damage and 15% chance to fire a tear that creates random wisps and apply status effects to the target. [!Wisps are disabled for now!]
Car Battery: No effect.

Activates a random debug console effect for a single room which include; Draw Hitboxes (25%), Draw Grids (10%), Immortality (5%), +40 Damage (5%), Show Damage Values (25%), +50 Luck (15%), Kill every enemy (5%), Grid Info (10%). These chances don't change with player's luck stat.


HEADCRAB
"Alien Friend!"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Curse Room / Rotten Beggar

Gives Isaac +0.2 speed and +0.5 damage and 1 health up. From now on every red heart isaac picks up is converted into rotten hearts. The conversion rate is 1 half red heart = 1 rotten heart. So taking a normal red heart will give Isaac 2 rotten hearts.


ID CARD
"Who Is Barney ?"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Angel

Gives +0.25 shot speed, + 1.25 damage, +0.15 speed, +1 luck, +0.43 tears. Additionally, Isaac gains pseudo-piercing tears, upon killing an enemy the leftover damage from the tear that killed it carries on with the tear in the same direction instead of the tear disappearing after the kill.


MEDKIT
"Patched Up And Ready To Go!"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Boss

Gives Isaac 2 health up, fills 2 red health and gives +0.15 speed up.


Item Descriptions [11-20]
HIVEHAND
"Alien Hive At Your Command"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Devil

Isaac loses 20% of his damage but gains 40% tears multiplier, +0.15 shot speed and homing tears. This tears multiplier greatly boosts all the tears up item picked up, but will also lower the damage ups. The DPS increase is about 20%.


BRIEFCASE
"It's Not Opening...Yet"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Curse Room / Red Chest

Grants a black heart and spawns a Fool card. Each time Isaac gets hit, there's a 3% chance for him to get teleported to either a devil, angel or an error room. The devil and angel rooms are different than the current floor's devil and angel rooms, and each time they will be different, even if the briefcase gets triggered twice on the same floor.


ENERGY BALL
"Combine Tech"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Devil / Demon Beggar

There's a 2% chance to fire a tear that does 4x damage, destroys rocks/doors, bouncess off enemies/walls and deletes enemy projectiles. Goes up to 100% with 12 Luck.


SUIT BATTERY
"Filled With Power"

Type: Active (4 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Treasure
Wisps: When used with Book of Virtues, the created wisps will have 4 HP, 4 damage and 15% chance to fire jacob's ladder tears. [!Wisps are disabled for now!]
Car Battery: Takes away a full red heart and gives a full soul heart. The laser duration is also doubled, which deals potentially 128 damage if it hits the target for the entire duration.

Deals 1/2 red heart damage, grants 1/2 soul heart and fires 8 tech lasers in all directions. If there are no red hearts, no red heart is taken and no soul heart is given to the player but the laser can still activate.


SCIENTIST GLASSES
"Low Poly"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Gives +0.8 tears and +0.5 damage. There's a 10% chance to shoot a tear that splits into 4 on contact, and there's also another 10% chance to fire a tear that splits into 2 upon hitting an enemy. When there are enemies in the room, Isaac will see everything slightly pixelated.


HEV HELMET
"It's Talking!"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Gives Isaac explosion immunity, +1 health up and also fills all red heart containers. Additionally it has a 20% chance to block incoming projectile damage (only enemy shots, excluding lasers).


HEV SUIT
"Black Mesa Tech"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Gives Isaac spike immunity, 3 soul hearts and also fills all red heart containers. Spike immunity includes ground spikes, spiked chests and curse rooms. As for the spiky enemies, Wall Hugger, Slide, Poky and Grudge are included. Additionally it has a 20% chance to block incoming projectile damage (only enemy shots, excluding lasers).


ORIGINAL DISC
"1998"

Type: Active (Single Use)
Item Pool: Red Chest / Gold Chest / Beggar / Crane Game
Wisps: When used with Book of Virtues, the created wisp will have 20 HP, 8 damage and the normal tears will travel with leftover damage. There's also 20% chance to fire a tear that is homing, piercing and splits into 2 and then into 4, depending on if the tear hit the enemy or not. [!Wisps are disabled for now!]
Car Battery: Spawns 2 items instead of just 1.

Spawns a Half Life item from this mod based on the special room you're in. If you're not in a room with a specific item pool, you will get a random Half Life item instead. For items that appear in multiple item pools, their main item pool will be used.


HEALING LIQUID
"Embrace Purity"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Angel

Every new floor, if you have missing red health they will be refilled and you will also gain one soul heart. If you have full or no red health, you will gain two soul hearts.


NIHILANTH'S CALL
"..."

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Devil / Demon Beggar
Transformations: Leviathan

Spawns a Joker card. For every progressed floor Isaac gains +0.5 damage up (also includes the floor you're on). Fills all missing red hp on initial pickup. If you have no red hearts in your heart containers, or no heart containers at all, you will also gain a black heart upon moving to a new floor. Otherwise, if you have any red hearts, you will lose a heart container. If you're exactly at 1 heart container with no soul/black hearts, 5 random troll bombs will spawn. For soul/black heart characters, they will take 1 hp of damage every floor but will gain +1 black hearts when they have 1 or 1/2 soul/black hearts. On coin hp characters, they will take 1 damage every floor.

Item Descriptions [21-30]
SCIENTIST'S SYRINGE
"Heals...Sometimes"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Boss / Demon Beggar
Transformations: Spun

Gives Isaac +1 Health up and heals him on some special rooms. Gives half a red heart on Boss Rooms, half a black heart on Curse Rooms or Devil Rooms, half a soul heart on Sacrifice Rooms or Angel Rooms. Each heart type can be obtained once every floor.


RUSTY PIPE
"Oxygen Or Fuel ?"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Isaac gains +0.75 Damage up and -0.1 Speed down. There's a 10% chance that Isaac will fire a special tear. The special tear has a small chance to be a burning/exploding tear that does 3 times the damage. Or it will be a floating tear that can absorb other tears and explode into smaller tears, if it hits the enemy before exploding it will do 1.5 times the damage. (100% at 10 Luck)


CASSEROLE
"My God, What Are You Doing!?"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Boss

Grants an empty heart container on pick up. Every time an explosion happens there's a 10% chance it will drop half a red heart.


XEN CRYSTAL 3
"Essence Of Fear"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Curse

Isaac gains +0.5 Damage up, there's a 10% chance to fire purple tears which are spectral, deal 2x damage, apply fear to enemies and has a chance to drop black hearts on kill. The tears move with a wiggle effect. (100% at 12 Luck)


XEN CRYSTAL 2
"Essence Of Poison"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure

Isaac gains +0.15 Shotspeed up, there's a 15% chance to fire green tears which deal 1.25x damage, apply poison to enemies and has a 33% chance (unaffected by luck stat) to spawn a huge poison fart on isaac which poisons nearby enemies. The tears move with a pulsing effect. (100% at 12 Luck)


XEN CRYSTAL 1
"Essence Of Unknown"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Secret

Isaac gains +0.15 Speed up, there's a 10% chance to fire yellow tears which deal 1.5x damage and apply one of the possible 10 random effects to enemies. The tears move with a hook worm effect. (100% at 12 Luck)


VENDING MACHINE
"Stupid Machines!"

Type: Active (Unlimited Use)
Item Pool: Shop
Car Battery: Takes away 4 coins and uses the machine twice. This essentially allows you to use the machine twice but risk it breaking only once instead of twice.

Upon use, the vending machine will take 2 coins and drop either half a red heart or a full red heart (for red heart characters), half a soul heart or full soul heart (for blue and black heart characters), nothing or a penny (for coin health characters). The hearts/coins spawned by the machine will look like small soda cans. There's a 7% chance the machine will break and drop the "Can" item from this mod. (The chance for better hearts is 40% and the worse hearts are 60%)


HECU BACKPACK
"Lots Of Bombs!"

Type: Active (3 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Treasure / Shop
Car Battery: Spawns 2 red bombs instead of 1.

When used, spawns a red bomb that Isaac can pick up and throw.


SATCHEL CHARGE
"Explosive Ending +5 Bombs"

Type: Passive
Item Pool: Treasure / Bomb Beggar

Gives isaac 5 bombs. Additionally, whenever there's only 1 enemy left in the room (except bosses), the enemy will explode and instantly die. The explosion will hurt isaac if he's close and it's able to destroy rocks and walls. Doesn't work in boss rooms.


AIRSTRIKE BUTTON
"Crossfire"

Type: Active (2 Room Charge)
Item Pool: Secret
Car Battery: The enemies lose 93% of their health on use.

When used, deals enough damage to bring Isaac to lowest possible health (doesn't change max hp) and each enemy gets damaged to bring their health down to 25% of their current health value, also they receive additional damage equal to Isaac's current damage.

Trinket Descriptions [1-?]
EATEN DONUT
"This One Survived"

Type: Trinket

For each HP up item there's a 5% chance to drop half a red heart on taking damage. (5% base chance, 100% at 19 HP up items)




MISSILE CONTROL LOCKS
"Needs A Special Key"

Type: Trinket

If both key pieces are held, grants +4 Damage Up as long as the trinket is also held.




XEN PORTAL
"Summon Friendly Alien"

Type: Trinket

At the start of each floor there's a 50% chance to spawn a friendly Bishop which shields the player until it dies.




SYSTEM CRASH
"20 Minutes Ago"

Type: Trinket

At the start of the next floor, if the timer is below 20 minutes a glitch related trinket or item will spawn. If the timer is above 20 minutes, a technology related trinket or item will spawn. This trinket is destroyed upon spawning the trinket/item. The chance for a trinket spawning is 25% and the item spawning chance is 75%.

Also, missile control locks should be auto gulped once it's effect procs.

My idea:Flocking Floater(Familiar)
He shoots poison shots at a moderate rate,in the player's direction.
This enemy is based on the ones that were cut from Half-Life.

Well. That's pog. But I have one question: I were looking to resourses and thre is 2 itemes which aren't here: Beer and BM documents :/ Am I right that they aren't added to the game for now?

Yeah it was going to be like that at first but since their code was similar i just duplicated one and changed the damage type. Seems like i forgot to swap the damage resistances, will probably fix that soon.

Wouldn't it make more sense to swap the explosion and spike immunities between the HEV Suit and Helmet? The suit covers your feet so I feel it should make sense for it to give spike immunity instead of explosion immunity.
