Countries that are in video games
By 𝕂𝕣𝕠𝕟𝔾
So, geographers! Have you ever wondered in what country, or rather in its virtual simulated version, the events of your favorite game take place? Many people don't pay attention to this, or don't give it much importance, and in many games at all fictional states and worlds. But still, in many games the action takes place in real-life states and cities, or very close to them (such as Los Santos in GTA V is Los Angeles).
So I had the idea to create such an interesting map, noting all the countries, which at least once was a setting for a video game. The map will be gradually updated and supplemented. If I missed any countries, then write in the comments the name of the game and the country that appears in the game and I'll be sure to add that. And in the end, it will be fascinating to see all the digital versions of the countries you can travel to. Here we go!

Is the pink or the white the, "Yes - There's a 3D world of this location" ?
Pink - no, White - yes?
or
White - no, Pink yes?

Thanks for Mongolia, Kenya, etc. Maybe you know more games where the action takes place in unselected countries? I would be grateful for your help

I already wrote that strategy games where there is just a world map are not considered. Only games with 3D environment are counted:md_smile:

De facto every country is in vanilla Hearts of Iron IV ;) (excluding Vatican City, Lichtenstein San Marino and maybe some other small countries)

Uhh Mongolia has to be in a game. How many games have Ghengis Khan in it. I am positive Mongolia is a map in AOE 2

It seems like very little research has went into this post. The majority of unhighlighted countries have seen extensive representation in video gaming. South Africa and Mongolia have been the setting for dozens of games, for example.

Even if you search up irrelevant countries like Chad, you will still get a ton of results of games featuring the country. I'd be more impressed if you could come up with a single country that hasn't seen representation in gaming.

The thing about Far Cry 2 is that the Unnamed African Country is its own fictitious country, with quite literally that name, in Central Africa. It's not symbolic of any particular real world country.
