Guide
My fellow gamers, are you in search of an easy way to play the game? Do you find yourself struggling to aim your ship in the general direction of enemies? Boy do I have a build for you.

Step 1. Take Salvo
Step 2. I usually take Assault body and Temporal shield, but you could easily use a construct-based body or whatever else you want.
Step 3. Rush Charged Shot, Snipe + Calibrate (Incendiary Shot is nice but not core), and Fusillade.
Step 4. Hold down fire until your shot is charged and calibrated (or not, if you're not facing tanky enemies in the current wave)
Step 5. ???
Step 6. Free points
Additional Tips
There aren't any. Just start taking tanky mods or w.e once you get the core mods. Or more damage, it really doesn't matter. You kill everything anyways.

I did a similar build with battery, convergence, Warp strike, and splinter, and it COVERED the screen and blew up everything (including my pc)

warp strike and a couple wild mods are good too

and as a side note, evolutionary niche and/or bravado is a great investment as it increases the damage you do in stealth among other things

Alternatively, pick up Salvo, Specter body and Amp shield. Rush Snipe and Blink for Warp Strike, and pick up Splinter, Calibrate, Efficiency, and the whole Guidance tree. Prioritize damage, firerate, and shot count, but if there aren't any available pick mods that make your shield tankier. Omni shield is up to you but if you pick it don't take anything that does hull self-damage or you'll self destruct.

This build is insanely brain-dead easy in a way that also teaches you good positioning. If you move slowly enough you can stay invisible, meaning at most enemies will blindly fire into space or accidentally ram you. Sometimes you might need to break cover in order to not die, but otherwise you can hold still for a second and disappear from most enemies. Ideally stay hidden until either your shields recharge or Calibrate is fully charged and then let loose. The only thing that truly poses a threat to you is saturation fire.

i used salvo + reflect shields + carrier body + calibrate + charged shot + ally or drones

another strategy using salvo that I found effective was by using the stealth ship and either the shield that boosts your weapons when active or the one that burns nearby enemies, but avoid charge shot as it removes cloaking, then just drift around the screen by lightly tapping the thrust and building my missile stock and calibration to basically wipe out the whole screen. Quick tip, I'm not certain which ones exactly but some upgrades (I suspect the multi-shot ones) can upgrade how many missiles generate over time to a max (I think) of 11 at a time.
