Lets get right into this guide. Notice the following image:


As you can see, it's a tiny yellow square in a black void. This is the simplest possible way that I could illustrate this idea.

What I need you to do is look deep inside of yourself, and realize that in a shmup game you are that tiny yellow square. You see that? Become the square. Meditate, be one with the square. You are now the square.

Everything in black is there to shoot you in the face. That entire black void is everything you need to avoid. Absolutely everything there is to kill you and you will not win. Why aren't I showing the projectiles? Because it doesn't matter. You are going to die. The screen is so covered in bullets and globs and stuff that's only there to kill you.

Welcome to shmups.

First of all, you won't. Lets continue:

1. Hold down the fire button at all times.
2. Don't even bother to look at your enemies. Just look at yourself and move tiny amounts to avoid direct hits from bullets.
3. Die. A lot.
4. Die some more.
5. Get blowed up.
6. Hold down the fire button.

Level 2:

Same as above, but you'll never see it.
