Idol Manager Keyboard shortcuts, Cheats, and Questions
By WhatUpAmerica
This started as a hot key guide (with the how to use cheats) and has started to turn into a community built list. I do check this frequently and try to answer questions in 24 hours (if I feel like they would turn into a faq I will add it to a list at the bottom). Also your name will get a shoutout if you add to the list of cheats unless you request otherwise. Happy gaming!

Cheats
This cheat menu was probably meant to be removed from the debug as it will cause complications with certain hotkeys.

Before you can use the cheats press F7 five times (I'm not kidding). After pressing it five times you should hear a sound similar to coins being added to a jar of coins, (best analogy I can think of,) this means the debug menu is active.

  • ~ (the tilde key): trigger a dialog *Note you may need a certain number of idols or staffers*
  • Z: trigger a local audition
  • X: trigger a regional audition
  • C: trigger a worldwide audition
  • B: Random Relationship Buffs and Debuff for random idols (Could be a positive or a negative)
  • S: raises the individual fame stars for every idol you have. Does not effect company fame.
(I do want to warn players who don't quite know how the mechanics on this one. The more famous your Idol is the more money it takes to keep them happy.)
  • F: add 100 fans
  • E: Speed time up to the speed you want
  • W: Return to the games base speed after pressing E
  • Y: 1 Million Yen
  • U: unlock all genres for producing singles (this may take a few presses if you intend to max it out)
  • P: add 1000 research points of each type
  • F2: Reset Special event cooldowns
  • F3: Reset Idol's stamina points
  • F4: Resets your scandal points from all idols
  • F7: Open/closes the debug menu (see next section for details)
  • F5: Quick Save
  • F9: Quick Load

I do want to say that using cheats does make the game less exciting so use it only if stuck between a rock and a hard place... or... not I can't tell you what to do.
Debug Menu
So after an explanation on how a debug feature works I realize I've been neglecting a whole category and given I'm not as tech savvy as other people I'm... going to need some help with this area... probably...
  • "Reload JSON files"
  • "Complete all tasks"
  • "Fire all idols"
  • "Debug Romance" will let you repeatedly talk to an idol without needing to wait 7 days.
  • "Trigger generic date"
  • "Disable popups"
  • "Launch Tutorial"
  • "Aya"
  • "Fuji"
  • "Rival"
  • "Credits Player"
  • "Credits Rival"
  • "TrEnd: True"
  • "TrEnd: False"
  • "[GAME OVER] Scandal"
  • "SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEN" I literally counted the E's but have no idea what it does
  • "Test Achievement"

Questions
Q: Does using cheats disable achievements?
A: No, or at least not yet.

Q: Is there a way to turn cheats off?
A: Aside closing the program I'm not aware of an off button.

Q: Will every question work its way into the guide?
A: I will try, but if I can't answer it I can't add it unless someone in the comments helps. (Answering questions before me will get your name on the shout out list.)

Q: Will you add more sections to the guide?
A: If you asked me when it first came out on Steam I would have said no. Now I'm willing to be more open minded. TL;DR Potentially.

Q: Where did you find out about the cheats.
A: Itch.io and you guys ^^

You do not need a mod

Do I need to download a mod or is this from the game itself?

It seems like the debug romance removes the wait time between socializing with the idols

For itch there was an editor you could download I'm not sure if the rules are different here
https://itch.io/t/480093/mod-support-editor-link-and-documentation

This will bring you to the document on the how to like I said modding isn't my strong suit

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :/

From what I pick up from that, that's telling me how to add a mod that's already created. My question is more how do I actually make the mod itself of adding in my own custom characters?
WhatUpAmerica  [author] 6 Nov, 2021 @ 4:07am
I'm sorry for the late reply TomuGlitch according to the dev on Itch you need to do the following

1. First you'll need to move IM_Data folder into your ~/Documents folder
2. Your mods will be available here: ~/Documents/IM_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/

3. To install a mod, find the game .app -> right click -> Show Package Content
And copy your mod's folder (~/Documents/IM_Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/*mod_id*/)
into Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/

I hope this helped... Straight up modding has never been my area of expertise

There's no actual guides I can find on this so I found you were answering questions here, how do you add custom characters complete with images and names (although you can nickname them anyways) into the game?
(Doesn't necessarily have to be how to make it a published mod itself, since I intend to just use it personally)

Glad this helped
