Description
Now [Abandoned] havent got the time anymore :(


When a pawn is blinded they become rather useless...

This mod aims to make those blinded pawns more useful by increasing their hearing and Manipulation.

When a pawn is blinded (either by battle or by a blinding ritual) they are still rather clumsy and are not used to being able to see. eventually they get better and more used to their surroundings.

Incredible and I recommend it for people like me, who don't have Royalty and therefore get no psi benefits from blindsight.

To answer some questions I see cropping up here:

1) The adaptation condition only applies to colonists whose ideological memes include blindness as a required precept, so it requires Ideology and applies only to Blindness colonies. No idealisation of blindness, no adaptation occurs.

2) The condition is applied when NPCs spawn or as part of the blinding ritual. It is also supposed to be added automatically whenever a pawn's health tracker refreshes and they lack eyesight (and, again, the ideology idealises blindness), but that function is called internally only when a new injury/health condition is received or an injury/health condition is removed (or when the debug "restore body part" command is invoked). In theory, it should apply to colonists who wear blindfolds and are totally incapable of sight, but only if they have the correct precept and only if they suffer an injury while wearing the blindfold.

3) The health condition instantly and automatically removes itself the moment sight is restored in any way. If a colonist is trained with a blindfold, they will have to undergo the blinding ritual while still wearing the blindfold or else they will lose all adaptation and have to start from scratch.

4) There are no configuration options.

From what I can tell, this mod works with 1.4. I haven't tested to see if it has any incompatibilities with mods, but I doubt there will be any.

@JEXA, with the Blind Tribe mod , pawns from that faction all start with 0% blindsight and thus make their raids a joke.

I suggest that any pawn spawned with this have the Blindsight set to maximum rather than zero.

I also suggest that this be added to any pawns with blindfolds on so you can pre train pawns for blindness, but not actually give any benefits until the eyes are removed.

I have a pawn with no eyes but I am not getting the sightless hediff, does this only occur with blindsight meme?
