Description
Short Description
You take on the role of a Nasty Boat commander tasked to deliver supplies to the frontline. But be on your guard, as there are Vietcong preying on the unsuspecting…
Can be either played alone with AI, with others and with both; the mission will balance the enemy according to what you choose!



Features
  • Experience the Nasty Boat class with all its firepower!
  • Play in Singleplayer or in Multiplayer with or without AI.
  • The mission will balance the enemy at the start, so you can theoretically play with just one more (or completely alone in Multiplayer (why?)).
  • The enemy will never be on the same spot in each playthrough.
  • Civilians are present in and near buildings and on the river.
  • Mission length between 10 and 30 minutes.
  • Vehicle field repair from a passenger seat, if you have a toolkit.
  • Field treatment from a passenger seat, if you have a first aid kit.
  • Choose a different time and weather in Multiplayer.
  • Dynamic Simulation System for better performance.
  • Vietnam Feeling with Helicopter flybys, thick jungle and slight fog.
  • Artillery Support.
  • SOG Vehicle Radio from the CDLC offers you sweet tunes to choose from on your patrol.

Ingame Briefing
Situation
Enemy forces of the PAVN in company size are being pushed back half a kilometer south of Attapeu. Along the Mekong between Kiem Tra and Bi Mat the Viet Cong employ guerilla tactics to disrupt the supply lines.
Friendly forces of 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines are advancing towards Attapeu. They are currently holding hill 75 against an enemy counter offensive. Your team is stationed at the FSB Quan Loi with one boat of the Nasty class filled with supplies for the frontline.
You have a limited number of rounds from mortar team Carver at your disposal.


Mission
Deliver the supplies and engage any enemies along the way!

Execution
1. Gear up and get in the boat.
2. Pass CP 1 to 3.
3. Reach the patrol end.
4. Deliver the supplies to the dock.

Signal
Slick-1 - Nasty Boat (your squad)
Brimstone - HQ
Carver - Mortar Team
Alpha 1-2 - team at the docks
CP - Checkpoint

Author’s Notes
The AI teammates may be slow to react to enemy fire. Assign them a target either via pressing “T” (default) while aiming towards an enemy unit or assign them a target on the map.
You can always switch places with the AI to shoot yourself.
If you give move orders to your driver (with WASD), other commands to the AI will only be uttered once you stop giving orders to the driver.
The boat is more agile (i.e. turning) with more speed.
The Checkpoints are also save points in Singleplayer.
In Multiplayer you can respawn in the boat or at base.
To teleport yourself into the boat, go to the officer in the building marked with “Brimstone”.

@Johnnyboy Thanks! Taking a look at it it truly improves the wonky AI, I will keep it in mind should I create another mission with boats! I'll leave the mission as is though, as I am currently occupied with other stuff, thanks for sharing though!

Cool mission. I've mostly solved the AI boat navigation problem for SP missions. Check out this sample mission and video. My script allows a boat to follow waypoints in rivers exactly, and even REVERSE off the shore after units board. @shellybear50 hm interesting. Just fired it up again and it took significantly more time to load, but at least it loaded in. This may be due to the latest SOG or Arma Update. Nothing I can fix to my current knowledge. Thanks for the heads up.

it's a shame really.
I was even thinking about somehow animate the movement of the ship but I wouldn't know how to do that.
anyways, nice mission =)
