An Index Credit Farming Strategy (3-4 Minute Per Round)
By ThePHiLsTeR [¬º-°]¬
High risk Index awards 250k credits per round. With a credit booster, that amounts to 500k. With a credit booster during double credit event, that amount rises to 1 million credits per round. Check out this guide for an efficient way of completing index rounds in 3 to 4 minutes.

You Can Contribute To This Guide!
There are so many strategies and setups to Index and I do not claim to know them all. What I do claim is that the setup in this guide is easy to run and efficient on time. If you have a great setup, please post in comments the strat and exact run times you've gotten, with mission summary screenshots. I will add it to this guide and note you as a contributor. ❤️

  • 3 rounds in 10 minutes 35 seconds
Overview
Team Composition
  1. DPS

    • Mesa - High DPS and kill rate

  2. CC and Defense

    • Limbo - Limbo provides both CC and Defense

  3. Point Carrier Options

    • Rhino - Rhino's tankiness isn't affected by Index' debilitating debuffs.
    • Revenant - Invincibility

  4. Support Role Options

    • Wisp - provides speed and health buff to you and allies
    • Speed nova - buffs enemy speed for faster kills
    • EV Trin - if you're having energy issues

The entire team will camp at the spawn point. This is done for the following reasons:
  • If host stays in spawn area, most enemies will spawn in this area, leading to faster kills.
  • Team can stay safe inside Limbo's cataclysm.
  • Limbo's cataclysm will freeze enemies that spawn in place.
  • Limbo's cataclysm prevents enemies from scoring.
  • Team receives energy regen inside Limbo's cataclysm.
  • Minimizes running around.

Only the point carrier will carry points for maximum turn-in efficiency.
Carrying points also causes debuffs to Warframes. That is why we use Rhino to negate the effect of those debuffs.

Turning in while carrying 15 points is most efficient.

15 points held doesn't yield highest bonus, but it does yield highest bonus point per point held.

Run 3 rounds, extract, and repeat.
Going further will lead to damage drop off.
How To Get Best Map
Best Map
The best map is shown in screenshot above. There is only 1 level and it is easier and faster to navigate the map. We will also be using the spawn pattern on this map to our advantage.

*This guide only works on this map.

To consistently get the best map, host must form party in a relay or in the dojo.
For whatever reason, this works. Lobbying in the relay, will likely result in random blessings by MR30+ players. You can also ask for a blessing in relay chat, and most of the time MR30+ players will happily provide the blessing.
DPS (Mesa)
Mesa Build

Regulators Build
Specifically for Mesa, fire rate increases DPS more than critical chance, so Creeping Bulleye will not be used over Primed Pistol Gambit.

Mesa Umbral Build
Defense and CC (Limbo)
Limbo Cataclysm and Stasis Build
Cunning Drift can be replaced with Primed Sure Footed if you are using an explosive weapon.

Cataclysm Location
I recommend casting the Cataclysm on the waypoint.

Cast Stasis to freeze enemies within the cataclysm.
Point Carrier (Rhino)
Run around and collect all the points. Turn in at 15 points held.

You drop all points upon death, so as point carrier your job is to not die. 😜

Rhino Iron Skin Build
Augment mod, Iron Shrapnel is important, because it allows you to refresh Iron Skin when it is convenient and/or safe. For safer recasting of Iron Skin, Armored Agility can be replaced with Rolling Guard. Recasting Iron Skin can safely be done during the 3 second invulnerability. If you want more energy efficiency, replace Blind Rage with Gladiotor Aegis or Augur Secrets.

*Iron Skin prevents knockdown, so explosive weapons can be used without Prime Sure Footed.

Rhino Iron Skin Umbral Build
Umbral Vitality is equipped for the added mod set bonus. This build does not benefit from +health, so Umbral Vitality is left unranked for lower capacity cost. Unranked copy of Umbral Vitality can be bought from Cephalon Simaris' kiosk. Iron Shrapnel doesn't need be ranked up.
Point Carrier (Revenant)
Revenant Mesmer Skin Build
The Mesmer Skin will reflect 12 instances of damage back to attacker. The other slots can be filled with mods of your choice. Options could be duration mods to increase stun duration, +movement speed mods, Primed Sure Footed for explosive weapons, and Power Drift for 13 instances of damage.
Support Role (Wisp)
Wisp Reservoir Build
Exilus mod is optional.

Only cast vitality and haste Reservoirs. Shock Reservoir will slow down kill rate.

Recommended Reservoir Locations
You can set down a total of 6 Reservoirs. That's 1 vitality and 1 haste flower at the 3 waypoints depicted above.
Support Role (Speed Nova)
Cast M-Prime

Energy Efficient Speed Nova Build
Exilus mod is optional. M-Prime will reach 82 meters and cost 25 energy per cast.

Max Duration Speed Nova Build
Exilus mod is optional. If energy isn't an issue, M-Prime will reach the maximum of 97 meters.
Support Role (EV Trinity)
If your team is having energy issues, use EV Trin or energy regen helminth abilities such as Protea's Dispensary.

Energy Vampire Trinity Build
Augur Reach and Cunning Drift are optional. Augur Reach can be replaced by Intensify for more energy leech. It can also be replaced by Vampire Leech for more suvivability.

Energy Vampire Trinity Umbral Build
Cunning Drift is optional.
Wukong Team Composition
*** THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION***
Times
  • 3 rounds in 10 minutes 3 seconds
  • 3 rounds in 10 minutes 5 seconds
  • 3 rounds in 10 minutes 5 seconds
  • 3 rounds in 11 minutes 16 seconds

Team Composition
  • 3 Wukongs
  • 1 Wisp

Advantages
  • Boasts fast times
Disadvantages
  • Wukong as carrier isn't as fail safe as Rhino or Revenant
  • This team's clear times are very dependent on weapon DPS. You will need good weapons and builds for this.
Point Carrier/DPS Hybrid (Wukong)
***THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION***
Other Team Compositions
There is room to run different combination of squads such as:
  • 2 dps, 1 carrier, and 1 support
  • 2 carrier/dps hybrids and 2 supports
  • 1 dps, 1 carrier, and 2 support
The keys are getting the best map, fast killing, and manipulating the enemy to spawn predominately in the spawn area which is achieved by the entire team camping in spawn.

wow Kepesk, great info! I've normally used khora on nightwaves were no-score from the other team is required, but it's a helminth build, and there's an issue with points sometimes not being able to picked up because of being too close to a wall (indoor arena). I'm not to have give your method a shot - thanks for the info!

Personally, I use Vauban for CC, his tether ball will immobilize them completely, build for range duration but range is the more important one here. Each ball can only tether 2 enemies each and only 4 tethers out at once. Works best with the outdoor map which you can always get if you queue the index from a clan dojo, but it works for either map. For the outdoor map, place the balls a little in front of the pillar at the start but also a little out to the sides, with around 40m of range, it will lock the whole visible area down, for the indoor one I normally put one in the archways to the goal and one on the sides a bit higher up on the other three sides of the goal box. I've done both and managed to do 3 rounds easy with no enemy scores several times so it seems a pretty safe method. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will have to look into them.

Or just use Titania and solo it

Nezha and Revenant are leagues above Rhino and anybody can craft Nezha as soon as they join a clan. I farm Index solo, setup: Nezha or Rev (Rev is better coz you can choose when to refresh mesmer skin), Dead Eye and a Rubico. Its quick and you dont need anybody else, you'll one shot everyone until towards the end of the 2nd round. Of course its faster with more ppl, but not everyone can afford to run groups all the time. Titania is also a beast at Index, but Ill rather have a Rubico for the one shot kills.

Smar! The issues I've seen with some Limbo', is limited attention span. Goalies have to be able to focus even when the job itself isn't pew-pew, and that seems to be the biggest issue, since the timers on 4 and 2 don't perfectly line up, some though and attention need to be present at all times imo. I should have mentioned, as a built team your presented strat is a sound one, and it's well written.

I changed the title to "An index credit farming strategy," so it makes it sound less like a comprehensive guide and more so one way of doing the index quickly.

As for requirement of built team, I assumed players would be making groups among friends, clanmates, or gathering people in recruit channel. Just have to host and ask for specific warframes and give directions. Though this might require some saviness on the host's part to delegate correctly. I personally haven't had too much trouble setting this team up in recruit channel.

And yea this guide doesn't address public index. I could probably write something about it.

There are definitely a lot of different strategies for index. That's why I put in the 2nd section that people can contribute. As for limbo, he's definitely not required, but I also wrote that in other team compositions that warframes are interchangable.

As for skilled limbo, I'm not sure what skill is necessary. You literally cast 4 and then 2 at the spawn point, which prevents any enemies from scoring. I even way pointed where to cast the cataclysm. All limbo does in this setup, is wait until cataclysm runs out and recast. And again he's not even required but it makes the games more chill since the team can safely chill in the cataclysm. And I also show proof in the screen shots good times.

Pick a better option than limbo - or better - STRESS that you need a skilled limbo player. I've seen way to many low skill limbo' in index that contribute nothing and aren't even good goalies. The real issue is that this calls for a built team, and it NEEDS to be stressed that it requires a built team. You can't just pop into a public and expect that because you're using one of these builds it's going to go well. If you're going to play on public, you need to be able to SOLO index, because you will teams you have to carry. Additionally - if playing on public, it is fat better to complete 1 round and hit it again in terms of time to profit, I can solo 2 rounds faster than i can do them with a public team (in general), specters die and get your additional points, players try to stay alive, even when they aren't able to make kills, won't deposite picked up points, and just create a liability hanging out at the enemy goal ninja point grabbing.
