Azekar - Oasis in the Sand

The country of Azekar is run by the House of Sabu, a dynasty allied to the Nogovan and Alinorian head families. For centuries, the Great Desert of Akkar prevented the Eastern Empire from invading the Middle Kingdoms, until modern innovation allowed for the ability to cross the several hundred-square-mile desert.

The Sabu National Railway (SBUX) is the primary rail service providing cross-country services through and for Azekar. Headed by Menikaan Sabu, the rail service exports high amounts of oil and desert grains, and imports cloth, wood, metals, and other raw materials needed from Alinor and Nogova. SBUX uses LCI purchased SD40-2 High Hood modified engines for all services and imported shunters for their reliability in hot weather. The fleet of SD40s is massive, mostly for redundancy. Colors do not signify any specific service, but painted different colors for no reason than preferance.

Inspired by Egypt, Lybia, Syria, and other Middle Eastern desert locations. I wanted to do something for the International Layout Jam, and since I am much better at fictional railroads, I said why not?
