Step 1, Making the Map File
Go into Documents/teardown/mods and create a new folder to whatever you want your map's name to be, then find the "Basic Copy" file, click on that and copy both the info.txt and the .xml file

After that, go into your map folder and paste both.

Now you will see this ingame

But wait, i'm not Tuxedo Labs? And that's not even the name of my map! So, go back into your map file and open the .txt file, after you

Ah, that's better!

And it looks even better ingame!

Now, your finished with Step 1, I know it's a lot but please stick with me, I wanna show others what I learned.
Step 2, Making Your First Assets and Getting Them Ingame
Alright, now that you've done step 1, it's on for the fun part, what you wanna do is, go into your map folder and create a folder and call it "main"

After so, go download this, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EFvRy_mxmC20CCwQHDtSpvuBJMA0yWN4/view?usp=sharing
it's what gives every color a material ingame, and drag it into your MagicaVoxel file location and into the "vox" folder

After so, launch Magica and find the "teardown_pallete" in the projects menu

Click on it and you can duplicate it as many times as you want for as many assets as you want.

Now, lets start off simple by making a chair, and be careful what materials you're using, you don't wanna brick chair!

Now it's time for us to get our chair ingame, go to the "save as" button on the top of your screen.

Press it and navigate to your map folder and save it inside of the "main" folder.

Now that you saved it, open Teardown and find your map in the local files, then press "Edit"

After so, you will see a menu on the side of your screen, right-click "main [script]"

Now, press "new" on the bottom of the pop-up menu thing, then select "vox", after that, a new vox file will apear below the main [script] thing.

After that, go down to the "Properties" menu right below it, and click on "file" then click "MOD" then "main" then select your chair!

Closing Thoughts
Thank you so much for choosing my guide to help you! I know this isn't everything to do to make a map, but I'm still learning also, this guide will be updated frequently as possible!

Thanks for reading and goodluck on your journey in Teardown modding

Hello all. to be SURE you get to the correct folder, press the file path at the bottom of the menu when you have selected the "(name) copy" mod, it takes you RIGHT to the location where the other mods you make need to be placed. (I had trouble with this for hours till I realized there's a difference between the normal document path and the admin variant and all that jazz. Hopefully somoene sees this and it helps them

Hello, I am not very sure what happened because this tutorial is probably somewhat outdated, you might be able to find a lot more tutorials on YouTube from the official developers

you might have to go to the ingame mod menu, then find Basic, click on it, then press "make local copy"

I cant seem to find the Basic Copy file in the first step, is this normal or do i have to download something for this to work?
