Press Space or shift (or whatever you set your kebinds too), you will see your character move down the ramp/ pool/ whatever the ♥♥♥♥. Do not be alarmed, you do not need too be Tony Hawk to move this thing. Use A and D to rotate. and there you go you can now rotate the board and tell your friends (if you have any) how much of an epic Sk8tEr you are. but wait you may be wondering why you cannot gain speed, well my friend i have the solution. Spam space (or shift)... Yes its that simple. anyways now you've made XGames interested in your skill you can move onto the next step :)

Now that you can move your little Sk8ter around you should learn how to do tricks. Firstly get into the air by going up one of the ramps with speed. once in the air use A and D to rotate. don't over do it or you'll wound up bursting your left testicle, like this guy. Whilst in the air use the arrow keys too perform tricks you can use these too increase your rotational speed and make yourself look amazing (you can combine tricks too make new ones like, left arrow + up arrow or right arrow + up arrow).

Death is unavoidable and not just in this game. but there are ways you can prevent it (not in real life, in this game). The trick is... Don't crash.
