The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - the ToB Edition

Description
This mod is an adaptation of my modification for TW Attila. It introduces nicknames into the game to make characters more recognizable and make the atmosphere of the game more authentic.

The nicknames aren't attached to definite names: there are random combinations of personal names and nicknames. (Thus, they aren't linked with the characters' traits, unfortunately.) Also, I've left a little possibility of characters without nicknames to appear.

Unlike the original mod, this one doesn't distinguish between different cultures, there is one set for all of them. It is based on the "barbarian" nickname set, which has been enlarged and also includes authentic (and sometimes odd or funny) nicknames from the original sources such as Heimskringla, Njáls saga, (a little bit of) Irish epics and some others. The number of nicknames is 189 for men and 76 for women. The nicknames are applied to all factions including spawned viking raiders and the final Great Armies.

Known issues:
- If the combination of name and nickname is too long, it can be shown only partly in some elements of the UI. However, the full name still can be seen in the tooltip.

- Save game compatible
- Compatible with every mod that doesn't change name tables.
- NICKNAMES ARE ADDED ONLY TO NEW CHARACTERS! It means, the characters you have on the start of campaign or in your current save won't get a nickname. But new children and candidates will get it.
- I'm not a native English speaker. If a nickname isn't appropriate by any reason, let me know.

Brilliant mod - Thank you - now I can find the subject that wants a farm, because they have unique names. Well done :):Morale:

I mean, the mod is save compatible, but it's just the fastest way to check, if the mod works.

I guess so. Just start a new campaign and look at the "candidates" or try to find a new wife. If they have nicknames, then everything is ok.

I might give your mod a try, will this work with Shieldwall mod?

Warriordude, it's technically possible to give nicknames (although not random) to the starting characters. However, it will require editing startpos, which will drastically limit compatibility of the mod.
As for the raiders, I'm not sure. I'll take a look at the script if I have some time. Theoretically, I guess, it's possible as well, but it won't be random either.

I wanted something like this for Shieldwall Mod, to bad you can't give starting characters nicknames and viking raiders nicknames.
