Wintertooth as a Greenskins Faction (SFO version)

Description
Throgg has become tired of being surrounded by the blunt witless monkes known as Norscans. In his desire for more intellectual companionship, he has found the Greenskins to be far more stimulating and has thus abandoned the Dark Gods in favor of Gork and Mork!

What this Mod Changes
  • Takes the Scabby Eye tribe and turns it into a Greenskins version of the Wintertooth faction. There's technical reasons for this, it's either take an existing greenskins faction and change it or have this mod be incompatible with other mods that change factions. Mixu understandably doesn't want to go through the trouble of changing his unlocker for the sake of a meme video that he has never seen. The starting location of Wintertooth will still be Winter Pyre and the Scabby Eye Tribe has had it's starting territory given to Barak Varr and the Teef Snatchaz.
  • The Mountains of Hel will start with 60% Chaos corruption instead of 100%.
  • Norscan Ice Trolls have been renamed to Ice Trolls.
  • Norscan Bile Trolls have been renamed to Bile Trolls.
  • This new version of Wintertooth can get Ice Trolls from the same building that River Trolls and Stone Trolls can be recruited from and Bile Trolls from the same building that Giants can be recruited from. Any effects that affect greenskin troll units will affect Ice Trolls and Bile Trolls.
  • Waaagh's originating from Wintertooth can contain troll units of any type regardless of location.
  • Throgg's Lord trait untaints regions instead of chaos taints them and he also has his own unique Waaagh army ability like every Greenskin Legendary Lord.
  • Throgg's Waaagh gives units a contact effect that inflicts a -10 Melee Attack penalty and -10% AP melee damage penalty in addition to the typical Waaagh affects. It's the equivalent of giving the Frostheart Phoenix's Blizzard Aura to all units in the army. While the first idea that came to mind for Throgg's Waaagh is making units regenerate to go with the troll theme, Grom's Waaagh already does that so this one goes with the Ice Age that Throgg keeps boasting about bringing to the world.
  • Wintertooth has a unique Scrap upgrade like every other playable Greenskin faction. For 60 Scrap, Troll units can be upgraded with the ability to projectile vomit onto foes like Throgg can. Their version has 40 seconds more recharge time (100 seconds), 25m less range (55meters), spews 9 shots per model instead of 11 and deals far less damage per shot but since every troll vomits it can potentially deal more damage than a use of Copious Vomit. Bile Trolls instead get the same Copious Vomit ability that Throgg has for 100 scrap.
  • The Wintertooth Crown untaints regions instead of Chaos Taints them.
  • The first part of Throgg's quest to retrieve the Wintertooth Crown requires constructing Da Hoard instead of a Plunder Hall.
  • The second part of Throgg's quest to retrieve the Wintertooth Crown requires his army containing three units of Ice Trolls, Stone Trolls or River Trolls (including the RoR version) in any combination.
  • The -25 Diplomatic Relations with all Norscan factions that the regular Wintertooth faction has is not present in this version of Wintertooth. The natural -25 Diplomatic Relations due to aversion between Greenskins and Norscans has functionally the same effect.
  • This Wintertooth faction has the same Vile Knowledge mechanics as the Wintertooth faction from the regular Steel Faith Overhaul mod.
  • Secrets of the Fimir improves the Recruit Rank of Giant River Troll Hags instead of Fimir Mearghs.
  • Creatures of the Bog grants Frenzy to Troll units of any type instead of Frenzy to Fimir units.
  • Wardings of the Scarab grants the Scorpion Armor passive ability to generic Greenskin lords instead of generic Norscan lords.
  • The Troll Toll causes characters to untaint regions instead of Chaos Taint them.
  • Frost Armour grants Missile Resistance to all Greenskin single-entity monsters instead of all Norscan single-entity monsters. This includes lords mounted on monsters.
  • Imperial Tactics grants the Imperial Endurance skill to all Greenskin heroes instead of all Norscan heroes.
  • Throgg's skill tree has been changed to match a Greenskins Lord. His unique skills have been changed to match, removing any reference to Skin Wolves or Fimir and affecting all troll units available to Greenskins.
  • Throgg's unique ancilliaries have been changed. His Fimir one instead benefits Stone Trolls, his Skin Wolf one instead benefits River Trolls and his vanilla Troll ancillary has been slightly narrowed to only be available to Ice Trolls.
  • This Greenskins Wintertooth faction considers Chaotic Wastelands and Frozen climates to be suitable. All other climate preferences are the same as typical Greenskins factions.
  • This Greenskins Wintertooth faction is immune to Chaos and Snow attrition in addition to the other base attrition immunities that Greenskin factions possess.
  • Barak Varr starts the game with all of the Blood River Valley under their control.
  • The Teef Snatchaz start in control of Stonemine Tower.
  • Note that this mod only affects Mortal Empires campaigns.
  • Don't be fooled by how Throgg's special research lists its resource as scrap instead of Vile Knowledge. It's still Vile Knowledge. The pooled resource in anywhere can only be replaced with a single pooled resource so I can't replace the scrap icon with Vile Knowledge without doing the same for every Greenskins faction research. This is hardcoded which means that the mod is as done as it's going to ever be.

awesome! ty for the update, one bug i've encountered though is that the quest for the wintertooth crown never starts, everything else seems solid, great mod btw!
