Derek Yu (creator of Spelunky and also resident chad), has over 100 personal body guards with him at all time, they are highly trained and are all former Green Berets in the United States Army Special Forces. Derek is also able to take lives with ease. He is constantly carrying multiple fire arms and is trained in the ways of jiu-jitsu (currently yellow belt). Each day before waking up, his house is sweeped for land-mines or other explosives. He rarely leaves his home due to high security and updating Speunky2's player-ghost code. He is barely effected by this life style, as he is not only cracked at real life but Spelunky 2 as well (he currently sits at 8000+ hours on Steam).

Derek does not hold back in game. He is not only a top tier Spelunk gamer, but a core gamer in general.

On September 16, 2020, one day after Spelunky 2's initial release date, a bounty for 28 million dollars was put on Derek Yu's head. Sadly all that attempted to obtain the reward were killed quickly after accepting the job.

A week after the job was posted, the bounty was officially taken down due to the high amount of casualties. Now we know that Derek is quick with the pistol.

Derek has not only done much for the gamering community but also has survived many attacks from spelunk sweats. Many controllers have been broken because of him but even with this additional info, I ask that we stop trying to game-end my boy Derek. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
