Prologue - Where To Begin
So, you want to go beyond being the Crewmate or Impostor , to go the whole she-bang and make, manage and host lobbies. Will show ya the way.

Note:

The Guests have the power to vote, kick and ban you from your own lobby. It's suppose to be a safe guard against dictator Hosts, but they can gang up on non-toxic, rule abiding Hosts.

Second Note: Among Us current glitches may or may not get ya kick and ban out of your own lobby. So, if it's not your guests, it's your console/phone/PC/VR that's at fault or worst, trouble at Innersloth's end, not you or them. (It's gonna take a while for the next update, which will have the fix).

Setting Up And Gear - Classic
This will first pop out, it will be the first things that you'll see before the lobby

Here is where you'll decide which Place, how many Crewmates, how many Impostors, and even the type of chatting.

After the important stuff, you'll end up in the Lobby (which I call the Waiting Room).

Giving the Boot

Bring up your tablet, this will show you some extra tools.

Here's the Boot icon, these are very important tools to use at your disposal.
Clicking up the boot icon gives a tiny menu.

Tip: Remember, if you really need to get rid of a troublemaker (s), it's not enough to kick them, you need to click the ban icon and outright ban them. Otherwise, they'll rejoin. At the worst case scenario, if a criminal/ a really bad person joins, don't just ban them, report them ASAP (I am not talking about some moron with the name of tedbundy that wants to have a friendly match).

For New Hosters: Eventually, you'll learn the difference between friendly gamers and actual troublemakers.
Etiquette Of Good Hosts
This will explain the good manners of a host.

Powers

Be mindful of your powers, remember, you're managing a round or more.

  • Don't let your host powers get to your head.
  • Use common sense.
  • Trust your gut instincts.
  • Be a morale booster and cheery.
  • Be a good sport.
  • Be chilled/try to control your temper.
  • Defuse fights, like the color wars (like when a joiner wants the first guy's color).
  • If your significant other is playing in your lobby, tone down the lovely doveness. You're here to match wits with them (and everyone else). Not take an all expenses paid trip in Amore Airs.

Your Ban Hammer

Practice common sense when using your ban hammer, don't use it unless it's an absolute necessary. Not when Jeff and Mr.Cheese murder you and won the round.

Needs To Be Kicked And Banned
  • Bullies
  • Inappropriate named people.
  • Some of the "Start" people.
  • Stalkers.
  • Cheaters
  • Hackers
  • Trolls
  • Some of the kids (The rude ones that do any of the listed problematic behaviors).
  • People that love to straight up bring politics, religion and other touchy topics, this is like the Thanksgiving tablet, there's things that are taboo to discuss when the environment is peaceful and take a break from insanely serious stuff like that.

Stay Your Hammer From The Innocent

These are the people that you're not suppose to kick and ban, unless very rare circumstances.

  • Impostors that play a fair game.
  • Any non-cheaters that are skilled and good at this game.

The Hammer's Capabilities

After a person/troublemaker leaves, you can still ban them out of the lobby as if they're still around.
Hosting And Lobby Tidbits - Classic
These are just tiny tidbits that are not part of the "Etiquette" chapter":

Basics

  • Don't forget to toggle that Public button on, so, others can join.
  • If no one shows up at your home region lobby, just switch.
  • Start to say "Hi."
  • Strike up a bit of small talk, so, potentials don't leave.

Tidbits

  • If you leave the lobby, the computer will give the whole lobby to another person randomly.
  • Careful of being AFK while in the lobby area (It's the one where the host has to press "START"), since it means that people will be left stranded in the lobby and it will close, due to inactivity. It's better to start the game and temporary bail, so your guests can play. (The slight disadvantages are that you're setting yourself up to be Imp Bait or having your Imp partner(s) do all the work, until, ya get back).
  • You can toggle the Private/Public Settings on and off, so, if you found a good set of people to play with. You can "keep" them for the rounds.
  • Be patient and wait people to show up.
  • A mutiny can happen to you, sometimes out of nowhere. Just make another lobby.
  • Be sneaky if there's a hacker, just ban them at the end of the round. Don't announce their names midway.
  • If it turns out that you're a toxic POS of a host, smart Guests will conduct a revolution on ya, you have it coming. Take your Ls and learn to be less toxic. The Coup feature is a weird fail safe that InnerSloth that's to deal with hosts like you.

Lobby

  • Beware of the algorithm, it will make a huge difference when gamers will join quickly or not. The lobbies with the last letter "Q" lobbies fill up faster, than the "F"s. If it's the "F"s, your lobby will be at the bottom of the list, where most people hardly click on.
  • Don't forget to toggle on the "Public switch on, if you wanna do public gaming.
Types Of Lobby Settings - Classic

These are the types of settings, I am encouraging experimentation to find a good combo that suits you. The goal is balance, fairness, and fun.

Note: Keep in mind that:

  • kids love games were everything is Sonic the Hedgehog fast, since they can kill and/or vote as fast. Also, there's very few kids that want to think things through and discuss things, so, they want meetings to be really short.
  • Certain settings will be heavily bias towards either Crewmate or Impostor(s).
  • Treat the setting examples, like how the pirates from "Pirates Of The Carribean" treats "The Code", just mere guidelines which are suggestions but please use with common sense when implementing them.
  • Glitches that happen will slightly wreck your lobby settings temporarily.

The Creation Of Man - Gamer Tags
Here's dem names to take in considerations.

Sir Percy Blakeney: Sink me, it's smarter if your gamertag has some snap!

Gamertags

Built In-Generator

This is one of the gamertags that's from Innersloth's built in name generator, it's very handy in case you're:

  • Can't think of anything cool to use.
  • Ya love the selection of the Among Us randomize generator.
  • They're funny.
  • Be part of the Tidydog army (Two or more guys can have the same names).

Or

Free Naming

Once you make an account and state that you're an adult/teen, you're free to don any name that you wish, as long as you can squeeze it in the fifteen character limit.

Tips: The next chapter will explain which names that are insanely discourage and/or make people be hesitant of clicking on your lobby, despite that "These names didn't do anything wrong."/"These names aren't offensive."
The Creation Of Man - Be Weary Of Using These Gamertags
Mulan: His name is Ling.

These are the types of gamertags to be weary of using and/or don't use these at all. Of course, keep in mind that you can't go by any gamertag, it doesn't matter if you have the perfect lobby settings and you practice good sportsmanship/are the perfect host. People won't know that you're ready to play a a few good rounds, so, use the following names at your own risk.

Amore Us Airs

If your gamertag is too edgy, troll happy or insanely offensive, you have less chances of getting like-minded gamers to join. Some people don't know that your real purposes and will just join to report you, troll vigilantes will put their trolling skills to bring justice and so forth (Some trolls are like that ya know), and the garden variety trolls.

Examples

  • Hornygrl/Hornyboy
  • Adults Only
  • Ineedagf/Ineedabf
  • I'm [insert age here, like 14 or 18]
  • [Insert real name here]

For Hosts Under 18: Not all adults are perverted and whatever you might think of them, if you want to prove to some that you're their equal don't use inappropriate gamertags.

Too Much Information: Even though there's nothing offensive about using real names, genders or using actual ages, it sets you up with issues both in-game and probably outside of it, like attracting dangerous people. Not every person that you play with in the lobbies are friendly.

Everyone Suspects Mr. Cheese

These gamertags present in this chapter aren't sinful/annoying and they past the safe check marks. But these names are associated with role playing lobbies that treat Among Us as a forum where they pretend to be characters in a fanfiction tier drama or worst, porn. So, don't be surprise, if gamers slowly join or outright avoid your lobby due to your gamertag (Bad enough that the algorithm lessens your chances of being seen).

Examples:

  • Mr. Cheese (Any type of popular YouTube characters, like the Game Toons ones).
  • Deku (and any type of anime/manga names).
  • Squid Game characters (Mainly, any characters and things that's highly in).

For Women and Girls (Mainly)

Be weary of the stereotype female name plates and gamertags (and the skins and cosmetics, in general), because this game is a highly male dominated and there's crazies. - Whether they're ill behave kids or actual creeps. Going as gender neutral or even a downright manly macho name will lessen the marriage proposals and getting hit on. Lastly, avoid the mics, get a voice changer, if you want instant action.

Note: This isn't fool proof entirely, even going as a macho male or gender neutrals, will get you the occasional dating requests, phone numbers or marriage proposals by women (and the other genders) that want to take you on a cruise ship, the HMS Amore Us.

Rumors
According to some YouTube rumors, you hosting lobbies increases your chances of becoming the Impostor. I personally don't know how true that one is.

This guide was made due to the other three guides getting stuff, remember I have OCD and I was told to make things "smaller." Also, we'll learn together and as we go and I will update when Innersloth gives more hosting tools.

By the time this was posted, I am a noobie host with a lot to learn. Don't feel bad, I break my own rules of "Be weary of using Player's name."
