Aria of Sorrow: How to get the Soul Eater Ring as fast as possible
By Cpt.Korwind
So, you're going for the "Omnipotent Dark King" achievement but you're also having a hard time collecting all the souls, eh?
With these tedious yet simple steps you'll be one step closer to being the ultimate lord of souls.

Part 1: In the Dance Hall after the Big Golem boss fight there is a room with a Tsuchinoko (if it burrows just leave and reenter the room until you see him), kill it until it gives you its soul.

Part 2: In the Forbidden Area, there is a room with a mimic, kill it until you get its soul.

Part 3: Head to the Arena and find the room with the Lubicants, equip Mimic's Soul, and start killing them until they drop the Masamune sword. If you get hit enough you can go back two rooms to the left to heal at a save point and you'll also earn money every time you get hit. You need 9 in total so you can sell them to Hammer to buy the Soul Eater Ring, but it can be 7 or 8 depending on how much money you got from being hit with Mimic's Soul (if you head two rooms down from where the Lubicants are you can find a room with a Rare Ring that will increase the chances of them dropping Masamune).

Part 4: Go back to the Entrance and equip Tsuchinoko's soul which will decrease the price of the ring from 300,000 to 240,000. Sell all those Masamunes and you should be ready to go.

Part 5: Equip the ring and be ready to kill everything on sight until you get all the souls.

Cheers!

I got mine from killing a bunch of needles (there's a room with 10 of them) in the Underground Reservoir with the Black Panther soul equipped with the gold ring. It takes something like 1 - 2 hours depending on the gold you already have. It's an alternative way to get it without having to farm for souls or items

there is an earlier mimic found which may or may not be earlier on then the forbidden room one
guarded by one of the skeleton dragons at an room where the waiter skeletons are think was
its an area accessable thru a roof opening

the tsuchinoko soul i ended up being lvl 60s two hitting it might be best to save till later
with how much the items sell for from the lubicants its an easy buy without it still
idk if its the same room but i found the lubicants in a straight thru room with moving stone statues which made an easy run back and forth, by the time i had 9 swords i had an insane amount after selling eight of them well past the limit even with the downprice , though i had a bit of gold from playing a bit

Try to kill it in one shot with a 2h weapon like an Axe or a Greatsword, if you can't I'd suggest leveling up until you're able to do it:tobdog:

There's always the early game glitch with Hammer where you just sell your X and Y coordinates to him.

1. After rescuing Hammer, go to him, sell all your items except two. Yes this includes equipment. Don't worry about it.
2. Hit R to sort your inventory. This will de-sync your cursor.
3. Scroll up 6 times, you'll be on his moustache if you did it right. Sell that. Scroll up 4 more times to his eyebrows. Sell that. Leave the store. You just sold your X and Y coordinates so you'll fall from the top of the screen.
4. Go back to Hammer and repeat this until you have so much money you can buy whatever you want. The game max is 999,999, but you won't need to go that far.

Also, if you don't feel like fighting lubicants for drops, you could just take mimic soul to the first clock tower save room. Jump into the spikes until nearly dead, leaving enough health to safely exit, and run right back into the save room and heal. Not sure what level I was, but when I did this in my playthrough I had ~750 health and brought myself down to 77 before healing. Each cycle of this got me about $3700, so it was only about 12 minutes' work until I had more than enough for the soul eater ring. Next playthrough I'll try the lubicant method and compare for myself, thanks and hope this helps someone!

So I did have an alternate way to earn money, since I am struggling with getting the mimic soul.
There is a room in the forbidden area, with a chest full of rippers. The gold ring allows you to sometimes have an enemy drop a large sum of gold, ($500, $1000, $2000) regardless of how strong the enemy is. As this chest is right next to a room transition, it is extremely easy to enter, kill the rippers and repeat.
For this, I used a Claimh Solais, which is found in a secret room in the same area (but any swinging weapon will work as you will probably be strong enough to 1 hit kill them at this point)
and for Souls, I used Black Panther for mobility, and Succubus for passive heal.
I felt like I got at least 1 bag every 1~2 times I entered the room.
The big upside of this method is that you dont have to farm for a specific item/soul, and you can kind of do it mindlessly.
