Information

  • In this guide we will show you how to remove the vision of the special infected
  • If you have any questions or suggestions, you can leave it in the comments
  • I will also be leaving a video guide for those who want to avoid reading the entire guide or simply those who did not understand the explanation
Beginning of the guide
The first thing we must do is open the folder where your game is installed, for that we open the steam library and select our game.

After we must right click, select the option "Manage" and finally click on "View local files"

After clicking on the "View local files" option, the following folder will open.

Once we are in the folder where your game is installed, we must open the following folders: Left 4 Dead 2 < left4dead2 < materials < correction

When we are inside the correction folder, we must delete the files:
  • ghost
  • ghost.pwl
  • infected
  • infected.pwl

And with this the vision of the special infected was successfully removed.

Note: I am recommending that you activate the subtitles, since the video is in Spanish

yes you have to merge them together into a folder then convert said folder into a .pak file using the authoring tools (it can be no bigger than 1.5 gb so you have to make pak01, 03 etc if you want more than 1.5 gb of mods together) Myth[Alex]

Speaking of that, could one of you guys kindly explain how to enable addons / mods in Versus?

For self-hosting (aka local server), all I know is that you must have sv_consistency set to 0 prior to starting a lobby. If there's any other additional step, please let me know.

As for joining dedicated servers, I need to read some proper instructions / how-to.
It also depends whether they're community-hosted or official (Valve) ones, right? addons usually don't work at all in the latter option... unless user tricks the game into thinking there's an extra DLC file (par01.vpk or something similar). I need further clarification here.

I would like to use more than one addon in Versus. From what I know, using multiple addons requires an additional step (merging the separate mods into one? it has to do with the pak01 file again, if I'm not mistaken).

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry for the off-topic reply. In case you have your own Steam guide about this, feel free to post its link in here.

yes they do work if you know how to enable them and they are alot easier than sweating over how to enable or disable a random lighting effect.

well a lot of times mods don't work on versus so this is better because this is permanent no matter what.

or just learn how to enable mods and install one that does this without you having to struggle
