Introduction
This guide is based on my full guide: Tropico 5 Guide – Dynasty, Traits and Swiss bank account[www.gameplayinside.com]

If you want more information about dynasties, how to get new heirs and how to get more money in your swiss bank account then please check that first :).
Traits
Managers
Best Traits
First trait (New game/Colonial era)

So what are the best traits to start your game with? I personally recommend Cheapskate. Having a 4% percentage discount on everything you build is pretty awesome. Compared to that traits like the Financier are not really worth it. Why get $income when you can get an $800 dollar discount on every $20.000 you build?

Second trait (World War Era and later)

When your island reaches the World War era industries become very profitable (see guide: link). However all of these industries require high school employees. Therefore I can really recommend the Mentor making students graduate 10% quicker. This way you get these factories going 10% faster and thus start earning more money 10% quicker.

Third trait (World War era and later)

Once you have a decent economy it might be wise to get a Foreman. The foreman increases the global effectiveness of all your production buildings by 2. So that Textile mill will generate about $280 additional profit. It might not seem much but this applies to all production buildings, so it starts to add up. Basically it is a 2% boost on the biggest part of your income. So if you earn $20.000 from production buildings you will gain $500, $50.000 will earn $1000 and $100.000 will earn $2000.

When I have time I will update this :).

It is explained in the full guide :(.

(Yes, global trait applies for ALL dynasty members)

You are correct, tables were reversed.

Does the global trait apply if you have that member in your dynasty, or only if they are El Presidente?

Also, I noticed you have the first table Traits - Manager effect, and the second table Managers - Global effect. Seems the titles are reversed?

Nice reference though :)

Ok: The president gets his global bonus doubled.

There is also something that I have not fully figured out... When you start a new game you will get 4% cheapskate bonus. But I have also seen other members with a lower bonus on level 2 upgrade.

So your first character has a better bonus OR there is another mechanic (era, difficulty, bugs?).

Another one for you:

Tactician (singing competition)
Manager effect: managed building is 20% more durable against attacks
Global effect: All Tropican soldiers receive 5% less damage

Ah gotcha, guess i havent played long enough in Tropico 5 to notice the hidden role thing, and its been awhile since I had played Tropico 4. for whatever the reason I always use Agent on my avatar.

Thanks for the clarification on the Foreman trait, was wondering since Ive been fishing around for more detail on things like efficiency and job quality on various building types and looking for good places to place some of my managers.

Hi there... Hidden roles refer to War Lords and Rebels.

Regarding the Foreman; Yes because you can offset the drop in job quality by increasing the building budget. If I am not mistaken the negative effect lowers when you level him.

Just saw this somewhere online, good to see it up on the guides section here tho.
If possible would you happen to know if its worth using Foreman managers with the reduction they have along with the boost? And i'm a bit unclear what exactly Agent does, hidden roles by chance refer to manager skills or something else?
