Disclaimer
Well, first of all, we highly recommend you NOT to use this guide in your first playthrough since it would ruin the experience. If you still want to do that, or have already finished the game... welcome!

It's also very unlikely this guide will get updated for the paid DLC. We apologize for the inconvenience...

We hope you enjoy this simple guide, we've worked really hard to make it as good as it is ;)
Tips and Tricks
A very basic list of tricks to use:
  • Say "Cheese": As you may already be aware of, the camera can only kill enemies while they're lit up by the flashlight. This flashlight is also used to see were you're going, but if you're feeling paranoid, you can "take pictures" and use the flash of the camera to see what's in front of you for a split second.

  • Not an early riser: Schlongs are dormant until you either get too close or shine the flashlight at them. Unless you're going after the "Let Sleeping Flamingos Stand" achievement, we highly recommend you kill all of them before picking any of the cauldrons (this is explained in the Enemy spawns section).

  • Lactose intolerant: There are multiple ways to get the "Hat Trick" achievement, but there's a really easy way to do it. Before you dump the last cauldron into the pit, wait in the safe room for a few minutes. The enemies should gather around the door, allowing you to get it without much of a headache.

  • "If you're going at the speed of light, you live in eternal darkness": As tempting as it may be to "speedrun" the game, it's highly adviceable to learn the map (at least) at a basic level. To do that... don't pick up the cauldrons, trust us (also, we know what the next section is, but it's more fun if you explore the map by yourselves).
An estimated map

Enemies and their behaviour
Time to explain the enemies:

Gazer
This will be your first enemy encounter. It won't give you much trouble, but it doesn't like being pet.
Shlong
These members of the rogue's gallery stays dormant until stimulated. They only wake up if you light them up with the torch or get too close for too long. If you shine the light on them, they'll run away, but be careful they don't sneak up on you. Killing them or not is up to you.
Gumhead
The fastest in movement both towards and away from you. This emotional mess can be a real pain if you're focusing on another enemies. They behave pretty much like the Schlong, but faster.
Lovers
Relationships are scary, and so is this monstruosity. Unlike the ones from before, this enemy won't run away from the light, though it slows them down
Siren
It moves pretty much the same way as the lovers, there isn't much else to say.
Enemy spawns
We should start mentioning that there are two enemies that do not respawn: There's a static number of Gazers (1) and Schlongs (5). We don't think it's necessary to mention the location of the Gazer, so let's talk about the Schlongs. Dividing the map into three sections; left, right and middle:
  • Left - Probably the easiest route. It has two Schlongs, one after going downstairs, and the other one behind the cauldron between two pilars. It's probably the easiest one because, despite havind two, the room is very open and the path there and back is quite simple and linear.
  • Right - Maybe the second hardest, this one contains a single Schlong, however, depending on the path you take to come back, you'll encounter an extra one from the middle path. It's the second hardest because despite that, the location is at the enemy advantage, with a secret passage and multiple hidding spots.
  • Middle - Probably the hardest one, but just because of how overwhelming it can be the first few times. When it comes to the Schlongs, however, it's quite simple: the first one is right at the exit of the safe room, and the second one is in front of the middle cauldron.

Those were the "static" enemies, so let's start explaining how the spawns work.
The rest of the enemies will only spawn from a single location each, and will depend on the cauldron we grab:
  • Gumheads: Under the walkway there's a pitch black corridor from which the Gumheads appear. They will spawn if we grab either the cauldron to the right, or the middle one; so there is a maximum of two simultaneous Gumheads.
  • Lovers: There's a path that connects the left and middle cauldron. Lovers spawn there if we grab the left or middle cauldron.
  • Siren: There is a single cauldron that can trigger this enemy spawn, and that's the one to the right. It's spawnpoint should be in the first secret passage of the right path.
It's important to mention that there's a cap of 3 enemies that can spawn in simultaneously (without including static enemies), meaning that depending on the cauldrons you picked up, you'll find different enemies in different amounts. (e.g.: If you pick up the left and middle cauldrons, the left one would trigger a Lovers spawn, while the middle would trigger a Lovers and a Gumhead spawn; meaning that you could have two Lovers and a Gumhead after you.).
If you have any doubts about the locations themselves, they're shown in the estimated map.
Thanks for reading!
We've spent more time than we expected working on this guide, and we really hope you liked it.

Thanks for reading it and have a good day! ;P

You mean Solastalgia? I already beat it, it was cool :D Doubt I'll be able to update the guide any time soon though... but hadn't heard about Somostosis, is it unlocked after Solastalgia? :OO

You'll unlock the somtosis chambers after beating the game. There's a little passage tucked away in the wall indent near the portals. Note it flips *everything*, down to tool textures.

The angel sometimes replaces an enemy if you activate Somotosis (Somtosis or whatever it's spelled like)-- you'll hear her sing before she approaches; she violently shakes in the light, but seems just as fast without it.

No problem. I'm gonna see if I can convince some people to play this and help me update the guide (a daunting task, but still). Can't promise anything... but would be neat! (And the game deserves a complete guide T_T) :ayos_ok::ayos_ok:
