Explanation and Updates
I made this guide to help new players with some things that haven't been very well explained in game. There are a LOT of pictures in this guide, for references and such. I find pictures help a lot more than some text on a page. So please give this a minute or so to load.

2 Disclaimers:
#1: This game is in Beta, so things are subject to change. As such, I will try to update this guide as quickly as possibly.
#2: Most of this is my experience, so though I am always right, I can also be wrong.

Final update: I finished playing after defeating the final Apex boss, and have decided to stop updating the guide. You are welcome to use it as much as you want, and ask questions. I probably won't be able to answer them, but the community might.

Enjoy!
The Map is your Friend
The map tab isn't really well explained, but it allows you to warp to any place you have already been to. You can select the region and teleport there, or select the portal in the region itself to get to a particular spot. It will display where you currently need to get to, as well as any regions being invaded.

The highlighted area is a Zone. (The whole map is known as a the Badlands. They are currently working on adding another.)

This highlighted area is a level.

And this area is a full map of the level, with icons for shrines, chests, and dungeons.

Tips - Crusade Tab
This part of the guide is about the Crusade tab.

This is the screen you see. It tells how many levels till the next ascension, and what you will get for ascending as well as your current level cap.

This shows the current weekly crusade challenge. It shows how each faction is doing in the challenge, and what the winners will get.

This part of the Crusade Tab shows your ascended champions.

Clicking on the champion will show their stats which include kills, deaths, captures, and crusade points earned.

Each ascended champion will earn you 100 souls per hour, per shrine and dominion point. You get them each time you log in.

This map shows which side currently holds dominion over the regions. Handy for a quick overview.

Tips - Ascension
So, I recommed ascending as soon as possible. The enemies will scale with your level, so don't worry about areas being too diffucult. Each ascension resets your level back by 20%. So if you ascend at level 25, you start you new Caos at level 19. You can ascend as early as level 5, and I say you should do that.

The more ascended you have, the more souls per hour you get from sites controlled by your ascended.

Each ascension will have a boost that is applied to your NPC.

I recommend having around 5-10k souls when you ascend. Your first pillar for keeping items will be free, however, their price starts rising. Second pillar costs 1k, third costs 2k, and fourth costs 4k.
Tips - Runes
Runes are helpful littles buffs you can add to your armor and weapons.

Each weapon can only hold so many runes. This weapon can hold up to 2 runes.

First, select your rune slot. (Fun Fact: Runes are actually displayed on the armor. For example, on my right boot, you can see a green rune, and on my helmet is another blue rune.)

Then, decide on what rune you want to put in to the slot. (Note, this will replace the rune.)

Aaaaaand done. (Fun Fact: Hitting Left Shift will hide your helmet in the menu and IN GAME. Because a handsome face like that should shine bright.)
Tips - The Forge
A cool feature, this allows you to repair your equipment over time instead of spending souls. It's free, and can be found in all areas.

The easiest one to find is in the sanctum, right behind where you spawn.

You can log off and it will still go. However, it doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes to fully fix your gear.

At least, the lower levels don't take too long.
Tips - Chests
So, there are four types of chests I have found. Stone, Gem, Gold, and Purple.

Stone is the lowest level, and can contain souls, items, or nothing.

Gem is second tier. It has higher level items and souls. Very rarely empty.

One of the better ones, Gold is never empty, and always has items.

The rarest chest, the purple one has good armor and weapons in it.
Tips - Spells
The type of spells you can get depend on the god you choose to serve. Don't worry about choosing the wrong god though, after ascending, you can choose another god. So you can have spells from all three gods, however, you can only have 5 active on the spell wheel.

It is always a good idea to upgrade your spells, as you will always have them once you get them.
(Fun Fact: Spells will be shot at the enemy you are currently looking at, regardless of the direction you are moving.)
(Fun Fact #2: There is a slight delay after casting a spell during which you can't attack.)

(Quick Fact: You must nagivate this menu with the arrow keys and the enter button.)

Tips - Crusade Spells
Crusade spells are different from normal spells. They are one time uses spells that affect other players. All crusade spells can be found in chests as drops.

Some spells bless other players with boosts, like attack and movement speed. This boost protects a player by preventing ascended champions from attacking any of their area. In order for a boost to be activated, you must go to the pillar that appeared and press E.

Other crusade spells curse players by spawning in monsters, usually of your gods type, into their world. If this happens to you, destroy the pillar as quickly as possible. It will continue to spawn bad guys in until you do.

The banish spells is pretty useful, if you have a large group of enemies around and don't want to fight them. The spell will pull enemies around you and drop them into another players world. It does have a limited radius, so be sure to be in the middle of the enemy group for maximum effectiveness.
Tips - Combat
Health will regen outside of combat, and all enemies have a what I like to call a "Combat Circle". Once you enter it, they attack you. If you leave it, they will walk back to the center of the Combat Circle and ignore you. This will allow your health to regen. Very nice against bosses and large mobs. This also applies to creatures you have banished/summoned on another Caos.

Low Health
(Fun Fact: You can dash in the middle of any combo that didn't start with a dash. Handy way to dodge.)

Bam, there it goes (That is a mini boss in the background, really nasty, has bleeding attacks.)
Tips - Combat 2
Executions are also a great way to regen health. It doesn't fully regen you, but it gives a decent chunk of health back. Another good thing about executions is, while the animation is playing, all the other monsters will back off and give you space for a couple seconds. Executions also give you twice as many souls. Opening a chest will make the monsters freeze, as you look at the item.

(Fun Fact: If you execute the last enemy of a group, black bars will go across the bottom and top of the screen and you get something cool like this.)

(Fun Fact: There are is only 1 execution for Troll Shield Carriers.)

(Fun Fact: There is no execution move for Troll Witch Doctors.)

(Fun Fact: The type of execution move you get is determined by what weapon you are using and what enemy type is being executed.)
Tips - Non-troll enemies
The two most common enemies besides trolls are bats and wolves.

You usually encounter bats in dungeons. They have 3 attacks, a bite, a sonic screech, and a charge up attack that is easy to spot.

Wolves are encountered in dungeons and also a lot in the forest. They usually attack in packs. They have a couple attacks but are easy to stun. They also have a jump attack that will stun you and do lots of damage.
Tips - Bosses - Troll Hammer
This big dude is everywhere, and his hammer can be lethal if you can't read his attacks. (I don't remember his name.)

He has a habit of grabbing you and smashing your face after yelling.

Also, if he turns his back to you, get away quick. He is going to bring the hammer down and stun you.

He can attack in quick succession, usually 4 times in a row.

I would call him the most frequent mini boss you face, so knowing his attacks is really useful.
Tips - Bosses - Ogre Brute
The Ogre Brute is a boss you will encounter in a lot of dungeons.

Ugly looking sucker isn't he.

His Lore page.

He has a penchant for throwing rocks if you get too far from him.

Don't worry, these are easy to dodge. However, the rock has AoE when landing, so don't be too close.

His main attack is swinging with his club. Once he reaches half health, he will start swinging four times in a row.

One of his most powerful attacks is smashing the ground with his club. Don't be close, it deals major damage.

His execution kills are rather enjoyable.
Tips - Bosses - Hagaz the Killer
Hagaz the Killer is a mid game boss you encounter while searching the woods for the second Apex Skull. You start to encounter him more after that.

Hagaz is mostly a ranged boss. He throws javelins and can also light them on fire.

After you defeat his wolves, he can also summon in 4 witch doctors. Be careful! Once he does this, he will start to throw javelins in quick succesion. After 3 or 4, he will tire, and you can dodge in and hit him.

Don't get too close, or else he will stab you for massive damage. He can also kick you and swipe when you are next to him.

Don't worry though, just take your time, and you can beat him.
Tips - Bosses - Apex Bosses
All four apex bosses fight the same way. There is no variation other than the names. Here are some tips about their attack moves and how to avoid them.

They can summon spirit wolves. Be sure to take these out, you don't want them stun locking you while you attack the Apex. The later Apex's can also summon troll witchdoctors and shield carriers, as well as troll beserkers and troll warriors (The dudes with the swords).

One of their major attacks is slamming the ground with both blades, sending out a shockwave. It is easy to spot, but does a decent amount of damage.

Their main attack is swinging their swords. They have a large range, so be careful. They usually swing in sets of 2, but can also swing 4 times in a row.

If you are low on health, lead the Apex to one side. Then run to the other side. The distance should be enough for you to start the regen of your health. Don't try this when there are wolves, though, as they will follow you around.

All four apex bosses are pretty much copy/paste of the first one. If you can beat the first one, you can beat the other three. It just takes time and patience.
End
Quick Note: If you are disconnected, it is generally easier to restart the game, then try to reconnect.

Hey, thanks for reading through this guide. I will be adding more to this over time as I discover and/or remember more tips.

So whenever i save & quit, it resets my progress in the story and with my chosen god. Is there any way i can continue the story without restarting every day?
