Crafting and fishing
Whenever you start a new game, one should probably start to gather enough resources to craft either a bow or a spear. You should in this situation either go fishing or shooting small dinosaurs. To be able to craft, go towards your box with resources and press e. After that select the item you want to craft and you will see a bar that shows progress.

Example of a crafting window.

Here is the complete list for crafting items:
  • Torch = 2 wood (Disappears when you get into water)
  • Bolas = 2 wood, 1 stone (Craft rope to replenish ammo)
  • Firepit = 2 wood, 2 stone
  • Shield = 4 wood, 1 stone
  • Spear = 5 wood, 2 stone
  • Bow = 5 wood, 2 stone (Craft arrows to replenish ammo)
  • Totem = 8 wood, 2 stone
  • Teepee = 10 wood, 4 stone
  • Cage = 15 wood

Additional info:
The shield is a very efficient defensive tool,
against the Stygimoloch's headbutts that otherwise
would be lethal. Just ready your shield by holding the left button, and brace yourself for the incoming charge. If you're successful, the shield will break, you will have survived and the dinosaur is now dead. "No more chargin' dinos can stop us now!"

The cage is one hilarious yet useful construction that the player can craft. This building makes it possible for tribes to capture other players and put them in a cage. While in the cage, the players cannot escape from the inside. (Important note: You need to construct the cage on the player that you have captured.)

The bow is a weapon with many uses, such as hunting. It is best used for hunting the 2 smallest species of dinosaurs, but also good when shooting at other players. You may also use the bow against larger dinosaurs, but in these cases the arrows won't do any damage but you will only annoy the dinosaurs and gain their immediate attention.

Fishing:

Now here's an important part of the game, and that my friends is fishing. In The Stomping Land you will a lot of times almost starve to death in lack of any food. You can practically fish wherever you like, you just need water with at least some fishes in it. But in order for you to grill some fresh just-caught fish there is several steps to follow.

Step 1: Craft a firepit (with 2 wood and 2 stone), it's recommended to place it near the water. Craft a spear (with 5 wood and 2 stone) and start to go down into the water.

Step 2: Swim down in the middle of the all the fishes, but once you're down there stop moving. The fishes will at first swim away from you, but just wait and they will swim back. When one gets close enough attack with your spear, if you caught one go back to the firepit (if you didn't make sure to swim up to the surface to catch your breath and then try again).

Step 3: When you're standing next to the firepit, just press E on it and press "Add fish" to put your fish above the fire. Then just start the fire and soon you will enjoy a freshly grilled fish.
Tracking the dinosaurs
A key strategy to surving in this pre-historic world is using one's senses (and tracking) to localize danger ahead and avoiding it if you're weak.

There are several ways to track dinosaurs on the island but one's senses are most important:

Vision:
The player's ability to view their surroundings is the the most vital part of surviving among the ferocious giant reptiles, that in most cases will try to kill you. Using your eyes you can see caves, distant (and close) dinosaurs and other players. When you are on foot in a large field using your eyes may be the difference between life and death.

Hearing:
Sometimes your eyes can betray you, for example when you're in a forest and then you will need to use your ears to localize danger. Hearing dinosaurs is probably more useful when in a lush forest and bushes are blocking your field of vision. When in this situation, listen carefully or otherwise you may sh*t your pants when you go to close to a dinosaur (and dies).

Stars:
The nightsky can be sometimes be your savior if you're find it hard to localize and track a dinosaur. However, the stars cannot be used as good during daytime, due to the sun shining bright (darnit sun!). Each star on the sky in the game represent the presense of a dino. As many guards from a certain game would say; "Watch the skies traveler!".

Footprints:
Another way of tracking the dinos are footprints they leave on the ground, they are not too hard to find. Each species has it's own footprints, and you may find it hard to know which footprint that belongs to who. If one follows a dinosaur you may see their prints into the dirt, and then you will know how that species' footprints look like.
Expertise and taming
In this horrible pre-historic world every player basically needs a dinosaur to mount. To be able to tame a dinosaur you need to several things first. Here's what you need to do to tame a dinosaur:

  • You need to retrieve a healing herb which can be found in caves.

  • You need enough expertise to be able to tame a specific dinosaur species.

First, let's talk about how one can earn expertise. Expertise can be earned in 3 different ways; killing other players (which you get 20% of their expertise), passively (1 expertise every 30 seconds) and standing on shrines found in caves. When you die, you lose all of your expertise.

To be able to tame a dinosaur, you need; a dead dinosaur, 1 healing herb and enough expertise for that species. Here are the list for all the dinosaurs' requirements of expertise:

Gallimimus - 25 expertise
Stygimoloch - 50 expertise
Styracosaurus - 100 expertise
Ankylosaurus - 150 expertise
Carnotaurus - 200 expertise

To the left: Standing on a shrine. To the right: Healing herbs in a cave.

Gallimimus:
A small but not aggressive dinosaur, rather passive in it's behaviour. Easy to put down, not the best when trying to use it as anything but transportation due to it's low hp.

Stygimoloch:
Now this is one interesting species because you will hate it at first due to the headbutting you will most certainly experience in one way or another. It will kill you lots of times, but once you tame one you will get a new buddy for life. This dinosaur is good when charging towards other player but especially small dinosaurs (you can even kill a ankylosaurus with it with about 4-5 charges).

Note: Anything that comes in front of this dinosaur when it's tamed, will be headbutted. A tamed one will attack every player that approaches (except the tamer) if you are to dismount it.

Styracosaurus:
This species is similiar to Stygimoloch, but this one is more wide. DO NOT ENGAGE WITHOUT DINOSAUR! If you were to meet with this one however, then you should probably run through trees because it will may be blocked (due to it being fat). Try to kill when using another dinosaur.

Ankylosaurus:
This one prefers to stay in groups with other herbivores (example Styracosaurus) and in that case you probably shouldn't attack them. They often get into conflicts with Carnotaurus and sometimes they die. Dead = food for a long time (3 large meat).

Carnotaurus:
1 tip, do not EVER approach this dinosaur unless it's one that's already dead. Only this species make the sound of an approaching giant that shake the ground. This dinosaur is hated and feared by all other species, dinosaur and human alike.

Additional info:
Healing herbs can be used to both heal/resurrect dinosaurs and fellow tribe members.
Map, caves and water
The map or the island where the game is taking place, is called Capa Island as some of you might already know. On the island there is different environments, for example large forests, rivers, caves and open fields. Anyway, here is a good map that will probably help you too;

On this picture, the red areas represent caves and you may also see the differences in elevation. In the bottom left, the mountains form a volcano filled with lava. Note: I know not all spawnpoints are on the map, but I will add them later on.

Caves:
Caves are dark horrible places, and not the best place to be in. Those that want to enter a cave, it's generally good to bring a torch. The caves are always pitch-black = complete darkness which in most cases isn't a nice experience. If one wants to enter a cave you probably should look for healing herbs and shrines. 1 important tip;
DO NOT ENTER THE BIG CAVE FROM WATER!

Rivers:
Rivers provide lots of things for players such as fish, navigation and cover from other players. But beware one thing, there is a chance that you will meet an underwater Ankylosaurus (and these guys aren't very friendly). Dinosaurs have tends to often just cross the river without any difficulties, but sometimes the stay on the bottom. Just get your fish and STAY OUT of the water.

Important: Torches, pulled items and tamed dinosaurs will disappear if they get into the "swim-part" of the water (don't go to deep).
Multiplayer and tribes
Multiplayer is really the way that The Stomping Land is made to be played. Several items and elements in the game is just designed to experienced with other player, for example bolas. While playing with others it's important in most cases to find yourself allies, and you can accomplish this by joining or founding a tribe. Being in a tribe requires several steps:

Step 1: Craft a totem [/screenshot](8 wood, 2 stone) or find a totem and click "join tribe". When clicking the button a request has been sent to that tribe's leader, and the leader needs to accept it.

To the left: Requesting to join a tribe. To the right: As the tribe leader, you can see new requests'.

Step 2: This is how the tribe leader accepts or declines pending request to join the tribe. You click on one name, then once that name is selected you press either "accept" or "decline". Once you have accepted another player into your tribe, their name will appear in green over their head (this way you may seperate your allies from other players).

As mentioned previously, a weapon that is made to used in multiplayer is bolas. Bolas is weapons that currently only works on players but has no effect on dinosaurs. Bolas can be used to either catch players on the ground or players riding dinosaurs (if you're good at aiming). When you hit someone with bolas, their legs will be bound and they will not be able to do anything but crawling around helplessly. Once they are bound you can walk to them, press E and click "pull" to drag them around like box of resources. While being dragged with a rope, the player cannot untie themselves (however they can, when they are just bound but not dragged). This good for taking enemies as prisoners if you construct a cage.
Conclusion
I hope this guide was able to help someone, but in any case I will be adding more as more content will be implemented later on. If you have any question regarding this or if it was something you didn't understand just comment below. Have a good day!
