You've never seen that before? I tend to crow about it about 3-times a year. I date my status as "true veteran" from the day when i sauntered up to this guy and finished it off with a knife -without a Stasis bubble-! (I had the Rifle with me; I am not truly insane.)
I didn't want to use the PDS for the kill; my Big Base is right behind me, from this picture spot, and PDS kills all the local fish...including the ones in nearby ACU. (Aquariums are safe.)
Actually, now that I think about it, I believe that *I* had been chasing THIS guy, with PDS. It was hurt and running away.
Before the Dec '22 update, hurt creatures (-20% or so) fled toward the 0, 0, 0 point of the map. Now it is more complicated, with the flight vector modified by the direction from which they received damage.
Don't know what this picture has to do with "cave survival", but...OK.
