Basics
Some pointers and basics before we begin:

  • The amount of distractions allowed for a ghost rating seems to be based on level.
  • Light and noise levels are useful. Memorizing the patrol patterns is even better.
  • Even I don't have a full proof "silent assassin rating" guide for Abandoned Complex or Steve's House.

Ghosted as hard as I could but Drug Mob Casino is only theoretically ghostable; the guard distracted twice triggers ghost and even with temporary light knockout you're not able to avoid it.
As for Abandoned Complex I can safely say that you'd need TAS timing to get closer to a quiet rating with any consistency or less equipment. There may be a better position or strategy for it and Steve's House but I can safely say that's for someone else to try.

Yeah V-Man, seems that way. I'm also starting to think that enemies are hearing the tranq gun when you fire it, but not visually responding to it. It has 6.3m Vol, so I've been making all my shots from range. Seems to be working for the most part. Once you get past the Shopkeeper's Mansion the games goes back to normal.

It's been a while, but from what I can remember every individual mission seems to have different rating parameters for stealth.
As well, I know the developer does in fact respond on Twitter to limited degree.

What is the deal with this game? Went the first couple of missions just using tranq-darts and chokes and got ghost no problem. Once I hit the Repurposed Factory it's like the rules changed. I figured out that it was counting a guard I choked just out of range of a camera as being heard; even though none of the other guards seemed to care, and the camera guy was out cold. Then I hit Shopkeeper's Mansion and it was counting every single choke I performed as being heard. Like, I have no idea what the rules are at this point. It seems like trail and error trying to figure out what does and doesn't counts as being heard on a mission by mission basis.

Didn't even come here for the guide, but there's no other info about this issue anywhere else online. No subreddit that I can find, nor anyone else having even remotely the same problems I seem to be having. Thought maybe you'd have a clue?
