Thanks for the feedback. I am from Russia, we are also a free country, so I personally like America for a similar spirit of freedom. I am encouraged by your results and will strive to develop my skills to your level. Have a nice day!
It's a free country. Well anyway, that's what we used to say here in America. Back when it was. I guess a better saying is, "it's a large Internet".
Meaning there is plenty of room for anyone's work. I'll get to the requests at some point and if I end up doing duplicate work, no worries. Nothing is needed on your end but create good working items and no attribution is necessary unless you literally use my work. Otherwise, knock your self out! Have fun!
Requests for Custom HUD Icon/Weapons Scripts
My Workshop
I made several icons based on requests from your management's comments in order to get my hands on creating icons. Do you mind? I will add a mention of you and your leadership to these icons in the description. I'm just learning how to create content, I decided to start with icons, then I'll try scripts, animations, models and, at best, maps.
I'm not really sure what you're asking?
Hi! Your icons are super, I really like your approach. Do you mind if I sometimes carry out "orders" for icons, as a novice icon maker and need to fill my hand? In the description of the icons, I can attach a link to your manual
I encourage authors to incorporate my icons. I ask of the people making requests to go back to the original author and lobby them, or at least tell others my icon exists so that they too, may use it. I don’t mind so long as credit is given.
When original author is unresponsive/doesn't care about conflict I may release a "scriptless repack" of their original. All credit is given to the original creator; I do not pass any work off to be my own that isn't. I don't advertise scriptless repacks; people may find them in my workshop as needed.
Indeed some icons may be duplicates. These aren’t copies; I always do my own work. I acknowledge some icons are made by others. I've had an interesting series of life circumstances that have kept me away from creating for a while. I just finished finals for this semester and am looking at doing another PC upgrade. So I may get back to creating here soon. Thanks for your interest and keep spreading the word and troubleshooting for people.
Hi! In this case, you need to ask the author of the main mod to remove the scripts or add an icon there, but then in this case your icon loses its meaning, since it already exists. Your icon is, in fact, a duplicate. I removed a few of my icons when I saw that they were there. In any case, it's up to you. Have a nice day!
Yeah the language barrier can be difficult. Sorry we can't communicate with each other more clearly. Suffice it to say I have no idea why this one would work for some people but not others, unless the model they're subscribing to includes a script. Then there's nothing I can do about that. Anyway thanks for your help!
Hi! I don't know English at all, I only use a translator, so I don't quite understand you.
When you install your icon without a model, everything is displayed as needed. If you install only the model, then the standard icon is shown there, since there is a line in the script about where to load the icons from. When I upload my icons, I don't take this file into account, but use the standard name. As a solution to the problem, I gave another user a link to another model where scripts are not involved, and everything worked
Interesting. So what icon shows when you are subscribed to both? If the original creator created their own icon that's what the .txt should be referring to. If it refers to the default icon file I think it's iconsheet.vgui or what have you, then the .vpk would need to be unpacked, the .txt correct or deleted, and then repacked. I can walk anyone through this or upload a scriptless repack of my own (eventually). I'm just genuinely curious what is happening to the other current subscribers?
