Description
Winter has arrived where I am living and I suddenly had a mood to pause my other estimated 1337 started map projects and create my first (and probably only) Snowfall map. I know, not a lot of people like to play Snowfall maps, and I probably won’t even play this one myself, but maybe there are one or two of you, who were looking exactly for that right now – so here you go. The map is based on a real-world location, but I’m curious if any of you know and recognise the place, so I won’t say anything yet.

In Fiuhtandale you will find a picturesque winter landscape, settled around three freshwater reservoirs. There’s a small hydroelectric station, producing ~150kw free energy, close to the edge of the map. So if you don’t want to use it, it should be enough to demolish the power lines. Let the simulation run for a few seconds to let the water settle (some spots don't settle properly in Map Editor).

There’s a lot of building space and enough resources. All connections are available. I also added a shipping path in one river canal for those of you, who can’t live without shipping. But if you use it, I suggest subscribing to river boats and banning large ships. It’s an inland map after all. Also, I didn’t adjust the bridges for any shipping.

There are 247,000 trees. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. If you want to plant more, use Tree Anarchy or any other Unlimited Trees mod and/or bulldoze the trees wherever you are building, instead of just hiding them. I also suggest using Tree Anarchy for a random tree rotation.
Please make sure to subscribe to everything in the map collection
Nodes and intersections were edited with Intersection Marking tool and Node Controller Renewal.
I’m not optimising my maps anymore for the use without these mods, so they are kind of obligatory for the proper looks (of course the map will still work without).

It reminds me of Funäsdalen though I'm not too sure. I guess the name led me to believe that. Gorgeous map nonetheless!

Ah okay ! I figured thats what you were going for, I just didnt wanna put my foot in my mouth. In that case then, yes indeed it works and is not out of place ! Quay walls would've been the step up, but I'm a huge fan of map makers that /don't/ over build their maps, so imagining it as an "old abandoned canal" works perfectly to me!
Hats off to you, two amazing maps back to back, really cream of the crop. :)

@Bittle Bill thanks for your comment! It's an artificial canal to make shipping possible. There was a natural, smaller river initially, of which you can see the remnants next to it and forking off on the bottom right, ending in the artificial lake.
The real world location I used as a base has it exactly like that, a completely straight canal, with the old dead riverbed next to it.
I could have maybe used quay walls to make it more clear that it is meant to be artificial. I understand now it might not be so obvious without seeing the original place

Love this map, one of the better winter maps out there! I was halfway through a build on your other map, O'Higgins, and I saw this and couldn't help but jump in! Love the way everything has been set up :)
Only question; what is with the super straight river? Towards the northwest there's a river that just seems very out of place with how straight it is. Like it was carved out initially for further development but then never got finished; you've even detailed along it ! The river just seems half finished to me and unnatural, which is something I never thought I would say about your maps !
Other than though, lovely map ! so glad to see not just one, but two amazing maps by you so close to each others release, a true treat :)

Yeah, well, the last two maps I've been working on for several months already :D Just coincidentally finished them at the same time. This one I really managed to make within a week now. Thanks to some free days I had and to the awesome Common Grounds mod!
